Several years ago, my 6-year-old son had a suspicious looking mole on his back and the pediatrician referred us to Huntley. Sitting in back of my son, Huntley determines he should biopsy it and says OUTLOUD«scissors or scalpel?» «No scissors!» my son freaked. The doctor shrugged it off as age-related scepticism and proceeded with the stingy novacaine shot. Ever since, a boy who sailed through his toddler vaccines and even stitches on his face has been needlephobic. Thanks a lot, doctor. Fast forward… I didn’t recall the name when my second son was referred for an acne consultation. The doctor was abrupt, the appointment was short and it all felt like a mill to churn out prescriptions. I’m sure he sees dozens of such kids every week, but his lack of interest was so blatant! I complained to my doctor who referred us to a young dermatologist in town. He took time to build rapport with a teen and answer questions. Treatment was not overly aggressive and worked moderately well(and the samples he provided turned me onto an excellent facewash/moisturizer). In all fairness, my husband saw Huntley and had no complaints(only reason I gave him a second star). So maybe he’s OK for adults, but I won’t go and would never recommend him for an underage patient.

Experienced doctor and straight forward. I admire the old school doctors that don’t make up stuff just to make a business out of medicine Therefore no unnecessary tests and screening exams and so forth.

I developed a lump on my nose ring. I first went to my PCP and all he wanted me to do was take out the nose ring and take some heavy duty penicillin. I left pretty pissed and defeated because I took such care and nursed it for so long but it seemed like for nothing now. So I called dr. Huntley’s office for a second opinion plus I feel this is more his field then my PCP. The front desk at both offices are amazingly nice and welcoming. I was worried when I first saw dr Huntley because he is older so I thought he would just tell me to take the damn thing out like my PCP did. Anyways he knew exactly what it was and said he doesn’t thing think I need to take the meds the doc gave me. He did remove the bump and put some ointment to prevent infection. He also took a culture just in case their was an infection which gave me the piece of mind I needed. Dr. Huntley felt confident that my nose will heal nicely and my nose ring can stay in :). I trust him not because he told me what I wanted to hear its because he really knows what he’s doing. He’s also a really sweet man and even removed some annoying skin tags. I just made another appointment to see what he can do for my acne scars. Give him a try, he really is a great dermatologist.
