This is a small specialty coffee shop. 100% Kona coffee is EVERYWHERE on the island, so it can be hard for businesses to be competitive. The coffee sold here has won awards though, so they’re pretty locked in the game. Joe was working there when I came, and he’s a very nice, helpful guy who really loves coffee.
The coffee here is not cheap, but it’s not terribly expensive either. I’m not much of a coffee connoisseur, but it seems like good quality, smooth coffee. I like how they have a table where you can try the few varieties they offer. I bought some as a souvenir for my dad :)

I saw an ad for the Kona Coffee Outlet in a tourist brochure. I was expecting a decent sized store with lots of selection. What I found was a very small store with a limited selection. Perhaps selection is limited because there are not that many niche growers that process their own coffee.
Given the not so cheap prices and limited selection, most people could probably meet their needs to buy kona coffee for taking home from the ABC stores located all over.

This store has far better selections than I found anywhere else. many small niche growers as well. The Black and Tan blend the owner suggested was exactly what I was looking for… reasonably priced.
It’s a small store. but deals only in coffee. and expertise.
