My wife, 20-year-old son, and I wanted an adventure — and Simeon and David gave us one! Fabulous fun, from trying the outrigger canoe with them, to surfing waves, to seeing endangered wedge-tailed shearwater nestlings on a protected refuge to which they took us. Simeon is both a lifeguard and a competitive open-ocean canoer, so we had about as good a guide as we could have.

I went on this Outrigger Canoe adventure for my 30^th birthday and it was awesome! We paddled around the islands and went to a small Lagoon on the backside of one of the Mokulua islands. They were so nice! They catered to what we wanted. I wanted to surf waves and even though that there wasn’t very many waves, we still was able to paddle into some. They brought drinks and snacks which was nice after the paddle and swimming. It was such a fun adventure and I’m looking forward to the next time!

We Go Island Canoe is a must do! If you’ve never paddled and surfed in an outrigger canoe, you gotta contact these guys. It’s a different experience than surfing on a board and in many ways more fun. The owner of the company (Simeon Ke-Paloma) is not only one of Hawai’i’s most talented outrigger canoe paddlers but is also a lifeguard with Ocean Safety — a workforce with the best lifeguards and watermen in the world. Not to mention, Simeon and the We Go Island Canoe crew are very friendly and genuine. They really want you to enjoy yourself and they treat you like family. Whether you are visiting Hawai’i and looking for a unique experience or are a local that has never surfed in a canoe, you gotta try We Go!

This was such a fun adventure from beginning to end! Simeon (who made this all possible) was very informative and helpful, making sure to explain things thoroughly, while maintaining a sense of humor and keeping things fun. The paddle out to the Mokes is a MUST if you’ve never done it! And if you have, then jumping in a canoe and catching some waves out there is your next must! I was raised here on Oahu so I’ve had my fair share of adventures. but this is at the top of my list. There’s nothing else like this offered on the Windward side. so whether you live here or are visiting, it’s such a fun option when looking for something new to do. Definitely plan on doing it again!
