Awesome hidden gem of a golf course. Course condition was way better than what you might expect for $ 10 a person. Two people renting clubs, cart, balls, tees was $ 50. If you are looking to get out and have fun, you won’t find a better value for golf on Kaua’i.

Recently came here to have a nice game of golf with a friend. Old white guy at the pro shop was a complete asshole, kept bothering us on the intercom saying we were too slow and was rushing us thru the first hole; told us to move on the side for these other old bastards that we ended up waiting for the whole time. By the 8^th hole we had enough and were trying to get back to the pro shop and the old bitch in front of us kept yelling at us b/​c «we weren’t giving her enough space» when we were trying to go back to the pro shop. I’ve came here before and TRUST ME this is my LAST TIME I will ever come back. All runned by a bunch of old shits that need to f*** off and go back to the mainland.

Paco tacos restaurant now open at golf course aug 2015. Very inexpensive for us tourists from the rocket city of Huntsville Alabama. $ 9 for 9 holes walking add $ 9 more for a cart. See my pictures. Great ocean views, located in the mountains of fabulous Kauai Hawaii.
Recommend play links golf so hit it short. Ball rolls long way. Some of the greens appeared faster than other greens.

This place was great. Friendly staff, way cheap rates and great views. The course was maintained like a good municipal. We played as a twosome the whole way and never caught anyone. We got there at 7:15am and played right away. It looked to get busier by the end (9 holes). Carts and rental equipment are older and dated but heck $ 42 for 2 that included golf, cart and club rentals.

What a freeking scream to play! Course conditions are a lot of hard pan and greens that tilt toward the ocean, but, IT’S NINE BUX, PEOPLE!!! Play all day if you want. Plenty of local flavor, too. It ain’t your Daddy’s Country Club by a moonshot, but, who cares???
Did I mention the price?
Cash only for the golf. The modest café/​bar takes debit cards. Nowhere close to the best course on the island, but, it just needs to be played for the experience. Vistas are awesome, too. Simply a joyful morning knocking it around.

Perfect for lazy/​practice golf. The price just can’t be beat and the people are super friendly. We play here every time we visit. Nothing is fancy (greens are not maintained, carts and clubs are old) but the views are beautiful, people aren’t usually rushed, and did I mention it’s $ ⁹⁄₉ holes? Rains on us every time but only around hole 7 :)
They have a strict no one under 18 can drive the cart policy (much to my son’s disappointment) and there’s no alcohol on the course. It’s all cash. Call ahead to make sure there’s no local tournaments. Ignore Unilocal’s «closed» and call for hours. Be prepared to be paired with others or have to wait due to lack of tee time reservations. Never been an issue for us.

A first class resort when it comes to people and their friendly nature and customer service. Golf was awesome, fun, challenging, and greens were smooth. The restaurant was very good. Again customer services, food, view.

This place is Terrible! Don’t Go! Stay Away! They don’t take tee times, so it’s a «first come, first served» deal. You’ll never get out. You’ll wait all day!
Okay… now that I ‘ve scared off the hordes… Kukuiolono Golf Course is AWESOME! We stopped by on a weekday morning and got out with less than a 10-​minute wait. The green fees and cart rental are ridiculously low and the course is actually in very good condition. Is it a world-​class track? No! Does it have some great holes and world-​class views? Absolutely! Everyone we talked to said things like, «It’s okay, if you’re just out hacking it up» or «it’s a decent track, for the price.» I’ve got news for you… this is a pretty damn good course and is worth as much as any other «muni» course in the area.
The restaurant/​bar area is awesome too! It’s a true local joint with great food and excellent, friendly service.
If we had tried this place earlier in our stay, we probably would’ve have come every day!

This is the most quite and beautiful relaxing place in kauai. This is a one of a kind golf course that is quietly tucked away. The courses are very well groomed and the cart paths are also very well kept. If you are not a golf enthusiast you can go for a quite walk on any of the trails they have. This is a must see if you are in the area or visiting. 5 stars

The price is right if you don’t take things too seriously. No complaints about the course. We rented clubs, which were ok, but somewhat falling apart. The afternoon felt comfortable and we really enjoyed ourselves and the view.

A fun, easy course with incredible ocean views. It is a quick nine, that is cheap and fun. The views are so amazing and the course is open and relaxing. Have a fun couple of hours golfing with the chickens!

Tip: Eat at the Kalaheo coffee shop near the course.

Inexpensive but awesome. Kinda reminds me of the Seinfeld «soup nazi» for golf. If you’re willing to follow the rules, you’ll have an amazing experience.

Great value but no Aloha Spirit from the local lady at the pro shop/​check-​in. Heard her unnecessarily cuss out some tourists and talk down to me. Really disappointed by the customer service and it was bad enough to keep me away. Played here many times and the lady at check-​in would keep me away.

Good golf course, not good restaurant though

It doesn’t get 5 stars because it’s not amazing. But it’s a great little secret. Cheap golf, turns into a park in the afternoons. Awesome 360 degree views of the ocean. You can play in shorts and a T shirt. The food is ono. I played here everyday for a week when I was on Kauai. Loved it!

Five stars for being fun, interesting and the best value for golf on Kauai. The deed of gift requires the greens fee to remain at a level «easily afforded by the local resident» (currently $ 9 for each 9 holes + $ 9 for cart for 9 holes).
A former estate deeded to the State of Hawaii, Kukuiolono is a nine hole layout with some clever playing quirks and beautiful plantings all around the course. The views from this hilltop course are magnificent and distracting, with some of the best views of Kauai’s south shore. It’s not groomed like a Poipu Bay resort course, but playing conditions are very good.
I hooked up with a local guy playing barefoot and his pal from Boise, ID. Both of them play here every day, and were more welcoming than many of the people I’ve encountered at other places in the Islands. Nine holes takes considerably less time than at the pricier resort courses, so you can get in some golf and still have time for that hike to Waimea Canyon.
And unlike a lot of golf courses, there’s a laid-​back atmosphere that permeates the whole place. By the time I finished nine holes, I was more relaxed than I’ve ever been on a golf course. Thoroughly enjoyable place to play.
Didn’t have time to try them, but looked like some good places to eat in Kalaheo, too.

I’m giving this Course 4 star’s, because there’s always room for improvement. I have not encountered any problems with this course the past 9 years I’ve known about it… yet.

Every chance I get to visit Kaua‘i, I have always made time to play this course. The driving range is over looking the west side of Kauai and the Island of Ni’ihau. You can’t beat the views for the price. My friend golfs 9 holes almost everyday. He said they let his group tee off right before the sun comes up.
First Tee Time is 6:30am
Last Tee Time is 4:30pm
If you need to rent clubs, you need to be checked in before or by 3pm, and rented clubs need to be returned by 6pm.
All players need to be off the course by 6:15pm (That’s if you have your own clubs). 6pm if you rented clubs.
Gates closes at 6:30pm

Oh yeah, the Kukuiolono golf course! Where else can you pay $ 9 and play their 9-​hole golf course as many times you want in a day! It was a good thing I stayed nearby so I was able to play this course every day.
For $ 9, don’t be expecting a world class course. But do expect a course that is fun and challenging for all skill levels, and is not pretentious (I even played it once while wearing wet swimming trunks and a t-​shirt). The views are just spectacular, especially when standing on the 7^th green (my favorite view). Be forewarned that the course and greens are rock-​hard, so resist your temptation to do your best Phil Mickelson impersonation and try to stick every green with your flop shot. Best to bump-​and-​run… don’t worry, it will run!
This course is definitely a local favorite, though I’ve noticed that a lot more tourists have discovered the course over the years. That’s ok as the fellow tourists I have played with also have the hang loose attitude that defines the local folk.
