Drue

The salon is very nice, my stylist was very nice and I enjoyed talking to her. The reason for 3 stars is because my haircut wasn’t very good. I’m not sure if it’s because the stylist didn’t know how to cut my type of hair or if she was just having an off day. I wanted my hair to taper down so it wasn’t just straight on my back. While she did make an attempt to do that, it looked very choppy and one side was higher than the other. She cut long layers but the layers were so close in length that my hair just looked awkward. I asked for framing but it just wasn’t done. I hadn’t noticed because she curled my hair really nicely for me so I couldn’t really tell that she didn’t frame my face. Again, the stylist was incredibly nice and I think she does know what she was doing but I don’t think she knew how to handle my hair exactly. I kept trying to explain that my hair is so straight and does not hold curl very well. She was sweet and curled my hair for me but when I asked her for everyday tips for my hair, she just said that I could curl it.
I do want to comment on whatever product they are using in this salon. It was really great! I loved their shampoo/​conditioner and she sprayed some volumizing spray or treatment and it worked wonders in my hair.

Really happy with my cut and color! Becky did such a great job, and she’s very easy to talk to. I also appreciated how she listened to exactly I wanted. I moved to Kzoo in September and have finally found a salon to call mine. Will be going back! Highly recommend.

Charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent are 4 words that describe DRUE perfectly. The modern décor is just what downtown Kalamazoo needed! I continue to drive from Chicago because I know that no other stylist can be as consistent as Drue is with my cut and color.

Everyone at Drue is warm and inviting! Drue, the owner, is an amazing stylist who really knows cuts and color. The salon is gorgeous! The space is really well done and has the feel of a big city salon. Everything is done with the greatest of skill and quality. I feel flawless whenever I leave with a new haircut!

Beautiful space, excellent products and a super talented staff. Such a wonderful addition to Kalamazoo. Everyone should experience this salon– definitely takes it up a few notches — haven’t seen anything of this quality in the area. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this gem!
