Absolutely one of my favorite places to relax and meet up with friends. Awesome owners, staff and brews!

HA! This place is in a strip mall! Who knew! From Flint, now reside in Chicago, so the wife and I get over to the mitten quite frequently to see the fam, etc. We try to hit a new brewery for lunch each time… so, this little gemstone came up and I couldn’t have been happier! The food is awesome. I mean, really, really good for a tiny little kitchen where they don’t even offer silverware. They had vegan and vegetarian options on top of the normal meat fare. We shared the artichoke flatbread/pizza and the veggie quesadilla. Both were outstanding — loved the goat cheese on the pizza instead of your traditional, heavy mozz, etc. Staff = friendly, quick, happy! Beers = BEERS! Ha. I’m not a beer snob, but I quite enjoyed the blueberry blonde and the donut/coffee porter. Very nice flavors tipping the ‘fun’ scale. Don’t let the strip mall location throw you off — inside this little joint is a bustling hub of every age(seriously, there were about 10 babies present with their moms/dads when we were there!) It was quite the scene. Highly recommended for a beer or two with a snack.

One Well is a great newer brewery in Kzoo. Food is simple but unique and quite delicious. Brews are outstanding. Very fun atmosphere with board games, pinball, darts and even Donkey Kong. Worth the trip!

Very local, neighborhood feeling to the location. Tough to find as its located in a strip mall. Worth the trip away from downtown to find the Xalapa craft beer(Jalapeño Blonde). If making the rounds in Kalamazoo — don’t miss this one!

The visit to One Well was a sporadic one. A buddy of mine and myself wanted to check a new brewery and we had heard good things about this one. This place can be a little tough to find as it is nuzzled next door to the«Kitty something or another» used furniture shop but the cool bike rack out front is an eye catcher. Most brewery’s are similar to sports bars but this place took a different path. There are zero TVs but instead have a wall full of board games. Some you know and some you may not(Exploding Kittens). We sat at a table that doubled as a dart board too. Luckily no one tried to stick us. They also have numerous pinball machines and even a pinball league. I got a feeling that this was a great family place. You can play games and engage with the kids while throwing back a few brews. I had always heard that they did not serve food but apparently that info was wrong. I was not super hungry so just went with the chips, guacamole, salsa, and beer cheese. It was very good. The presentation was a bit simpler than I had envisioned but the dips were great. The beer was fairly good. I had the jalapeño blonde which was not too hot. I liked it. The root beer was ok but not as good as say Not Your Father’s Root Beer they serve in stores. This tasted more like beer than actual root beer. I had a couple others too but can not remember which. They serve flights as well for your sampling pleasure. I wish they had a wheat beer but I was informed those were seasonal. If you’re a Unilocaler, you know that you can often times get a freebie by checking in through the Unilocal app. This was a bit different, offering a «High Five from the Owner». You bet your a** I found that owner and got my high five! Kind of a fun way to make the customers feel good without actually giving anything tangible away. I liked this place and will certainly go again.

This is a wonderful pleace to enjoy delightful beers and a delicious bite to eat. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable regarding the beers and menu. The afternoons are good for smaller family memebers and the evenings are great for a hot date or group get together. They have a plethora of games to be played by pairs or large groups. Highly recommend this brewery!

My previous review still stands. This place has held its title for my favorite brewery and seems to only have gotten better as time as gone on. I really hope these guys can blow up even more and start bottling. Just moved from Kalamazoo and its one of my stops every time I’m in town. They have the most unique beers and that’s what I look for! Give them a shot!

Florida native but my husband is from battle creek and we travel to Michigan often and tend to go on brewery tours while we are here. First time for the both of us at One Well Brewery and couldn’t be happier with our experience! I was drinking their blueberry mead… FANTASTIC. My husband had the barrel aged Sweet Water Street imperial porter and was very impressed! The crowd and staff are extremely welcoming, high energy, personable and down right awesome! The atmosphere here is hip with local art on the walls and video games, pin ball machines, darts, and really really really good food. We will be adding this this brewery to our must drink stops on our yearly brewery tours !! Extremely satisfied with the experience I had here ! CHEERS :)

The year was 2013: the Year of the Brewery Outbreak in Kalamazoo. We already had several(Olde Peninsula, Bilbo’s, Bravo, and looming large: Bell’s), but word was spreading that we’d see a few more. Indeed, up sprang Latitude 42 and Boatyard and Rupert’s and Tibbs and Gonzo’s. I was excited for the variety, but I knew it was passing fancy. Then, months later, I heard there was ANOTHER freakin’ brewery opening up. In a strip mall. In Millwood. «OK,» thought I, «have these guys been living under a rock? This town is DROWNING in craft beer. NOBODYWANTSANOTHERBREWERY. This place will never be able to compete.» Still, as an avid Unilocaler, I had no choice to but to pay them a couple of visits(or what, just leave a bar unvisited? unpossible!) within a week of their opening. Each time we got a big, friendly greeting at the door and felt very welcome. On our second visit, we were remembered. Our preferences were taken to heart. Our opinions were sought. I felt like a valued customer. «OK,» thought I, «maybe they can compete on service.» Clearly I ordered flights during my first few visits so I could taste everything and see what was up. The beers ranged from their merely inoffensive easy-drinker to their quite tasty IPA. I heard that the brewer had some new beers planned, and that he had also brought his extensive board game collection to the bar(and I love a good board game). Back then they didn’t have a kitchen, so you could bring in your own takeout or get delivery, which contributed to a cozy, laid-back vibe. «OK,» thought I, «maybe they can compete on atmosphere.» Soon enough, the new beers started showing up. «Don’t» porter: delicious. «Professor Nutbutter’s(House of Treats):» weirdly delicious. «Sweet Water Street:» holy-crap delicious. But then the hits kept coming. «Victory Over Oatmeal.» «Root Beer Float Stout.» «Zeus’s Sexual Appetite.» Great. All great. «OK!» thought I, «maybe they CAN compete on beer!» But then the unthinkable happened: they decided they’d open their kitchen. I LOVED that this town had a bar that could suit a group of people who couldn’t agree on dinner. Here everyone could have what they wanted! But no, they insisted that their hybrid vegetarian-menu-with-optional-meat plan was sound. I was already quite fond of the place, so I knew I’d be back, but worst case I wouldn’t be back for dinner anymore. I was wrong to have been worried. After a forgivable slow start(nobody hits it out of the park on day one), the food has gotten better and better. Now the recipes are original, well balanced, nicely varied, and so much of their stuff is made from scratch. One night I ordered a pesto ravioli dish(I uploaded a photo) and realized it was DELICIOUS. It was easily the best thing I’d eaten that month. I’ve had LOTS of worse Italian food … at Italian restaurants. This was GOOD. «Holy crap,» thought I, «this place can compete!» Against all odds, this scrappy little underdog of a watering hole has become a cool place to relax, a welcoming place to meet old friends and make new ones, a reliable source of fantastic and innovative craft beer, and somehow, atop all that, a great restaurant. One Well has everything I like and nothing I don’t. This is my favorite bar, bar none.

This little gem of a brewery is a regular stop for beer tasting for us. They do have some minor food options but we have never had anything other than the complementary fresh popcorn. The atmosphere is unlike most of the breweries you have probably been too. Think old school high school chairs, stained glass, beautiful paintings and classic board games and dart boards. Their beer is unique and delicious and everyone is sure to find something they enjoy and something they have may never have tried before. They have the standard line up including a lager, blonde, wheat, brown, IPA, porter, stout and other rotating beers and ciders. Try their Jalapeño blonde for something different. The mood is chill and you may end up sitting at one of several community style tables. They do have outdoor seating during the warmer months. One Well’s staff is very knowledgable and friendly. They will give suggestions when asked and will help get you a great tasting flight to allow you to taste many of their beers. If you want to relax and grab a beer or try a brewery’s line up of beers you should go to One Well Brewing. I might just see you there.

Solid, tasty, experimental brew collection. Spent a night here testing them all, and the flavors were wildly on point. They gave me a jar of jalapeños to add to my Xalapa, and I did(and holy shit it was hot). The Professor Nutbutter was unexpected but absolutely fantastic. And the Sweetwater Street was a great combo was Kalamazoo classics(Sweetwater donuts and Water Street coffee). Sat at the bar and service was spectacular. Didn’t eat much but the pretzel app was tasty with fantastic beer cheese. Atmosphere was laid back and fun, yet popular. Only complaints? Location and heavy overhead lighting. Truly loved it– will return.

Was a little nervous when we pulled up. The outside is a bit misleading, but once my husband and I were inside we never wanted to leave. The peanut butter beer on tap was to die for as was their alcoholic root beer and their selection of food with fresh ingredients was pretty sophisticated for a brewery(and so very delicious) The waiter/bartender was friendly, had great suggestions, and was very attentive and fun. Wish we had one of these closer to my home!

We go to Kalamazoo to visit family a few times a year and have reflexively gone to Bell’s when we get to town. Made the trip myself today and decided to try one of the newer breweries. I wanted something casual and One Well seemed to fit the bill, so late in the afternoon I dropped in. Though One Well is located in a strip mall, it doesn’t feel like you’re in one once you’re inside. The interior is very open with funky paintings and posters covering the walls. There are pinball machines in the back and stacks of board games along one of the center walls(and plenty of tables in the room big enough to spread one out). After I took a seat at the bar I got samples of an imperial porter and a «hoppy wheat» ale. The porter was rich and a little chewy with a warm brush of alcohol, and I could easily could have gone for one on a cooler day, but I opted instead for a pint of the pilsnerish and slightly grapefruity wheat. Very good on a hot afternooon, and it went great with the chicken-mushroom sandwich I got for dinner. The sandwich was topped with mozzrella, red peppers, spinach and pesto aioli, and while I didn’t taste a whole lot beyond the chicken, cheese, and ‘shrooms, that’s not much to complain about. Some very creative, offbeat sandwich and pizza offerings on the menu demand further exploration. While deciding on pint 2.0 I sampled a peanut ale(no, you didn’t misread that) and a barley wine. I was pleasantly surprised by the peanut ale – imagine a quaffable peanut butter on a foundation of mild golden ale. Much better than I imagined it would be, and I might actually order one when I return. But I’m a sucker for barley wines, and One Well’s hoppy heavyweight was excellent, so that was the pick. Service was top notch. Bartenders were friendly, stopped by often without hovering, and were genuinely interested in my impressions of the beers. Add one to the list of breweries put the beer first and put the boot to the ordinary.

This was my first time here and overall I’d say it’s pretty good. They have a huge assortment of board games, pinball, and darts to keep you busy. I had the Whoppy beer, which was pretty good.

Great place to go! This became an instant favorite of mine. The beer was excellent they also have a good cider on tap. The beer selection was excellent also. The establishment was very clean and the atmosphere was perfect. It’s a smaller craft brew joint with a laid back feel. The tables look to be either reclaimed or custom made. They have a large collection of board games that are there to be played. The staff is incredibly friendly, TJ one of the owners pulled up a stool and shot the breeze with me, which was cool. I hear they will soon have food also! As a first time visitor they made a great impression on me as I left the place with a full growler!

One Well is an incredibly unique brewery. Almost every material in that bad mama jama is up-cycled, perfectly pulling off a shabby-chic feel. You can tell these guys put a lot of effort into making this place special. The owners are really nice and are constantly making an effort to engage their customers and community every day. They’ve dove head first into Kalamazoo Beer Week this year involving themselves in tons of events after only being open for approximately 2 months! I have a feeling something cool will always be going down at One Well. They’re still perfecting brewing on their new system, but their beer was good to start so they can only go uphill from here. If you’re a fan of craft beer and live in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo and aren’t motivated enough to make the trip down Portage Rd to this brewery then you’re missing out and if you’re in from out of town looking for craft breweries or just a quick pint I highly suggest stopping here.
