Walking Taco, How does one even begin to consume you? As a whole, you seem so tasty, alas, your layers appear un-mixable… Art thou condemned to a spoon full of solely sour cream and lettuce upon first taste? I long for chips, beef, and cheese, yet they are so far away. Rage pools inside me and I inevitably wield my plastic utensil deep into your taco-filled soul, breaking through your cold ice berg surface. Stabbing and churning over and over. Some may think you’re shallow Walking Taco, but I knew, deep down, you had more to offer.

It was just meh. The food wasn’t anything spectacular. It lacked flavor, which was great for our picky daughter who hates flavor. I would say the best thing we had was the taco salad. That tasted fine. I personally love nachos, and was pretty disappointed with them at this place.

I really wanted to like this place more as the people there are very welcoming. As for the food? Just very hit or miss. For example, the nachos were just chips with processed cheese sauce over the top. Burritos are pretty good, but a tad too salty.

They’re better than Taco Bell. But not exactly authentic Mexican Food. It’s pretty much Taco Bell, but if there were fresher ingredients.

This is not a great taquiera. At no point will we say this is authentic Mex quisine. However, for a beer drinking Gringo that needs a belly filler before and/or after a beer binge, I’ll take it. These are some magnificent tacos as long as you understand that the tacos are enough to soak up the residuals of a party night but not as good as an Abuela’s home cooked mex meal. If you are in K-Zoo, you need to experience Taco Bob“s but I am not sure you need to pull off the highway just to try it. Service(like most of Kalamazoo) could be a lot better but for a value taco, they get the job done!

I grew up in California, so maybe I just have a higher standard for tacos, but these were less flavorful than Taco Bell and just as mysterious. I don’t recommend this place, just go out for burgers or go to Taco Bell if you really want tacos. I got the«funny taco» and rice. The taco was cold and flavorless and the rice was stale and also cold. The best part of my meal was the Pepsi. I won’t be back.

Taco Bob’s is a true Kalamazoo classic. Be warned though: don’t expect any authentic Mexican food. Instead, be prepared for a more upscale, local version of Taco Bell where the ingredients are fresher and less suspicious. This location now features a bar! Sip a Corona or margarita while chomping on your nachos or burrito.

Taco Bob’s recently won Kalamazoo’s best taco, so Team VP decided we should try them out. We left absolutely astounded that Taco Bob’s had even registered on any type of taco radar because we both had bellyaches. I had two plain soft chicken tacos which include lettuce, tomato and cheese. Mr. MVP had three hard beef tacos which also include the standard lettuce, tomato and cheese. What we were expecting were exceptionally fantastic homemade tacos that had been assembled with at least some care, but what we received was the exact opposite. My chicken was salty hunks of what I think was canned unseasoned faux«meat». Mr. MVP had the same luck with his over-processed, grainy, and under seasoned ground beef. The vegetables, although passable, were unripe tomato and tasteless iceberg lettuce. I promise the cheese was cheese product. These tacos were pathetic and while I appreciate our bellies are typically used to organic, non-gmo, and antibiotic free eating, Taco Bob’s left us both feeling queasy. I have no idea what Kalamazoo is thinking voting them into the top, but there has to be a better option.

I was very unimpressed with what taco bob’s had to offer. I went for the first time the other day and ordered a quesadilla. The staff was friendly to start but when I forgot to select a meat to go in my meal, they rudely asked me which I wanted. It was definitely off-putting. Food quality is decent, but I wasn’t expecting much from a fast food taco joint.

They’ve been stepping up their game lately. Nicer place settings, a soon-to-be-implemented liquor license, interior improvements. The staff is great. For cheap/quick tacos and burritos the food is perfectly fine.

Not gourmet or «authentic,» but good, decent food at a fair price, served up fast by very friendly people. Ask for their hot sauce — much better than the stuff in packets.

Not classic Mexican cuisine, but for the mid west excellent tasty fare. The staff is very friendly, quick and efficient. The establishment is clean and seating is available. The food is flavorful and ample. Excellent value for those on a budget. Update: As of 2014 a small bar area has been added which will allow the establishment to be opened later in the evening for those attending downtown events.

Price: Reasonable. Food: Nothing to write home about, but clean and edible. Staff: Exceptionally friendly and nice. Reason I eat here: Because I work nearby so it is easy to get to when I want TexMex for lunch.

Pretty good if you need some eats on the quick for a very decent price. The tacos aren’t authentic but are made well and with good ingredients. They are stuffed to overflowing with meat, veggies, and cheese. One makes a great snack and three is enough for a meal. I’ll definitely visit again.

Food is decent, but really why I love this place because it has been around for years(I went here for lunch a lot in high school), and they are a locally owned business. They have expanded and added quite a few additional branched within the past few years. It is pretty much like a local Taco Bell, but just a little better… well, maybe a full star better :) Love the funny tacos!
