Terrapin is a local favorite. It smells amazing there! Fair trade goods at fair shopping prices! Can’t say enough good things about this store!

I am all for supporting small business owners, especially in downtown Kzoo. My wife found a great dress for a New Year’s Eve party here. She purchased the dress and brought it home and we were very disappointed. It was a great dress, she looked fantastic in it, and it was reasonably priced. She thought the smell related to the store was just that… in the store. The HUGE problem we had with it was that unless you loved smelling like you had bathed in Patchouli Oil, don’t buy any clothing at this store. The smell was so strong we hung it out in the cold air to try and get it out and could smell it in our kitchen. The ironic thing is she had it hemed to fit her better and asked the tailor about what she could do to get the smell out. He asked where we bought it, and without even having the chance to answer he said«you got it at Terrapin didn’t you». Needless to say she won’t be going back to this store again.

Terrapin is a cute little downtown shop. It full of great world crafts, natural, handmade, earth goddess clothes, gifts, etc. I love the Indian block prints and they have some fantastic jewelry. Also, lots of other little items that I would love to have in my house if I had more money. It worth a stop if your style ranges towards warm and earthy and especially if you like the smell of sandlewood and patchouli.
