I has craving a good croissant and walked in here and had an amazing chocolate almond croissant. The atmosphere was quaint and friendly with a couple high top café tables and the service was excellent. The croissant was out of this world amazing and I’ll be back to treat myself more often!

Delicious, wonderful pastries. Love the croissants. The service is always cheerful and friendly. Only thing, I would like to sit and enjoy my pastry, but I’m in need of decaf coffee. Not a big deal. I just take it home and enjoy it there.

Mr. MVP and I thoroughly enjoyed The Victorian Bakery. We were the only patrons in the building on Tuesday morning and the young woman behind the counter was polite, but seemed to be a little sleepy still. Mr. MVP had cheesy quiche and I had a flaky croissant. I brought my own coffee cup and had a cup of Water Street coffee, but Mr. MVP was disappointed that his only beverage option was water. The Victorian Bakery really needs to expand their drink options to include some type of juice or milk for the non tea/coffee drinker. Our breakfast was so tasty that on our way out we purchased bread for The B Family and cookies for later in the day. We’d give this bakery 5 stars if drink options were better.

Not in 20 years have I tasted anything this good. It doesn’t matter what you choose you can count on it being perfect, time and time again. I come here for the chocolate croissant and invariably leave with a box full of assorted yummies. After each visit I have another favorite. Try the macaroons for example: golden brown, toasty coconut soft and juicy, somewhat chewy… Yummmmmm. Mince pies, pasties or anything in a crust is enrobed in layer upon layer of flaky buttery pastry so good that any filling would have felt outclassed if the fillings here were not so insanely delicious in their own right.

The bakery is a hidden jewel just south of downtown Kalamazoo. My selections were served on quaint, unmatched plates, and my tea was served in a pot of my choosing(out of 20 or so on display). My cheesecake bar was decadent, perfectly done. The crust on the quiche was buttery and delicious and the filling was light, moist, and contained a good balance of cheese and spinach. This was a great place to meet up for a light lunch, albeit heavy on the sweet end of a meal spectrum. Other savory options are available, including cheese scones, along with coffee and a selection of teas. The online menu is impressive — I plan to order a treat ahead of time to take full advantage of what the Victorian Bakery has to offer. Parking may be an issue — the lot was full at Noon, which is not surprising considering how delicious.
