Great coffee at a super cheap price. Only coffee shop in town that is open past the afternoon hours, too.

Colter coffee shop is located in the cute, growing downtown kalispell. I always enjoy a walk on main street with a cup of coffee in my hand. Their green chai latte is my favorite! The location is convenient with parking on the side of the building. You can also sit outside and enjoy a nice day, with locals(familiar faces) driving by. It’s a place where i can have business appointments as well because of their quiet room that they have in the back, or catch up with some old pals over coffee.

Let’s just say I really like this place. Staff is impeccable! The pumpkin latte is made with real pumpkin and honey! They top it with whip cream and a real marshmallow… The pastries are great! The wifi is free and fast! The atmosphere is relaxing and great place to do work or homework or just chat with friends! Go here and try something new out! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Nice spot. Local and earthy. Decent coffee. Treats and various nummies to choose from. They have some local artists perform here occasionally and you can rent a spot to perform as well for those artists who are looking to play for a group or get some exposure.

Finding Colter in Kalispell was like finding Daft Punk in my grandparents’ record collection.* *may not have actually occurred. After the initial shock, it was thrilling. If it’s not in a college town, why is it here? Why is this green chai better than nectar of the gods? Add a couch-filled back room + free wifi and you’ve got an excellent way to plan a trip to Glacier, drink too much caffeine, and make 3 hours disappear. Bottom line: I’m into it, so the questions don’t matter.

Great coffee, great ambiance. We bought three bags of their coffee and all have been exceptional.

Over-priced, cheap tasting drip coffee and bad attitude from the girl working there when we wanted cream & honey(oh the horror)! The staff’s attitude was better as we were leaving, but it seemed to me that they were more concerned about their looks than their quality of drinks and service.

Friendly place and they have great coffee. Roast it themselves and even can buy in local grocery stores now too

I really want to love this place. But why does it close so early? If Starbucks puts Colter out of business, I can tell them why — Starbucks is open late, and people like to hang out and drink coffee late at night. They don’t like being kicked out at 7 or 8 p.m. The wi-fi works well here, and they have a lot of seating. The seating upstairs could be improved — many of the tables are too small for two people who are both on laptops. And what is the deal with your baked goods? You sell these wonderful savory rolls, but when you heat it up you put it … in the microwave?! It is so disgusting! I know you opened up a new location for a bakery(which closes at the oh-so-convenient time of around 2 p.m.). I would have suggested just installing an oven in your Main St. location. No matter how many wonderful rolls you make at your bakery, I won’t eat them because you’ll put heat them in the microwave which makes me want to throw up. The only other options for a snack are cookies or cake. Also they don’t serve decaf coffee. Why is it that I can get decaf in a dive diner like Huddle House, but I can’t get decaf at an actual coffee shop?

I would have give this place 5 stars for the last 3 years I have lived here. I would tell everyone to go here! This use to be my favorite coffee shop. They roast their own beans! You went in and everyone knew your name and you knew the employee’s names also! The baristas could all make a excellent latte! You could sit in there and fill welcomed. Since they changed management this summer, the staff is cold, the atmosphere is cold. The last draw was when I told someone to go there instead of Starbucks. She admitted the coffee was good, but at least at Starbucks they at least pretend to want you there and are friendly. Colter you have done it! You changed everything and now your the place in town that needs a bumper sticker«Friends don’t let friends go to Colter, because even Starbucks cares more about their clientele!» Your change in management and priorities, made you lose the employees that cared. When I first went in there I ken you didn’t want to be like Starbucks, now I see your goal is to be worse than Starbucks! I would be wonderful if your quality of service and value of costumers returned!

This struck me as a friendly local coffee shop. I was looking to grab an iced coffee for the road, so I stopped here. I had good service, and was quickly on the my way. The roast on my coffee and the overall flavor was solid. The seating seemed varied, which would be nice if you want to hang out and enjoy your beverage. As a plus, there is a brewery going in right next door.

I wish I could say we had the good experience that Andrea V did. A few weeks ago we had visitors from out of town and walking through town we decided to stop for a coffee. There were 7 of us in total. NOTHNG wrong with the coffee, BUT the woman that waited on us was rude, abrupt, no smile, NOTHING. We all commented on it, but agreed that she was having a bad day. So today I went there again. One man was making a drink for another customer and I was the only person waiting at the counter. The same woman that we had previously encountered was wiping down the tops behind the counter. three different ones. She completely ignored me, did not even have the courtesy to say«I will be with you in a minute». When she finally got to me she had that same rude, abrupt, unsmiling attitude. I have always found people in coffee shops pleasant, fun and make you feel welcome wherever I have been in this country or overseas. We always believe in giving places a second chance, but there is no third chance. I have NEVER met such a rude person in a coffee shop or restaurant. I have been told this woman is actually the Manager. Sorry to the owners of the shop as I do like your coffee, but what should be a happy experience is ruined by this woman’s attitude.

Colter continues to impress and is holding it’s own with hooty-snooty coffee from the big city. Plenty of seating, pleasant(I know! Seriously!) baristas, and awesome roasts. Happily, less of the conservative Kalispell vibe here. Gluten free pastry options and nice extras like homemade marshmallows and amazing sugar free mixes from 5 Sparrows. Make time for a stop here on your way through town!
