A wonderful place for the finest handcrafted items and art of all types. A must-stop for quality local crafts, and convenient to lunch at Merriman’s. I make it a point to visit each time I come to the Big Island(from Honolulu) and have been doing so for more than 20 years. Never fail to find new and interesting treasures.

Great gallery, filled with a wealth of excellent Hawaiian art. I had heard about this place from a friend, so decided to go on a recent trip. The art here is definitely not your typical cheesy tourist junk made for mass production. If I could have a home in Hawaii, this shop would be a definite resource for art to fill the place … some lovely pieces whether koa wood, feather masks, jewelry, photos and paintings. Also the staff was very helpful: knowledgable about the art, with the lovely personality and aloha that one can find only in Hawaii.

Gallery of Great Things is at the top of my list for its diversity of art, jewelry, treasures and souvenirs from all over the globe — but focused on artifacts from Polynesia and Hawaii. It ranks with the best on the Big Island. Their selection may seem overwhelming, but it is very selectively curated, and worth the time to examine. I appreciate the staff, who are helpful but never intrusive or overbearing. They allow customers to browse at length. There are unique and beautiful matted prints buried in all that available art! I have quite a few unique and stunning pieces from this shop, and I recommend it to all guests and visitors!

Maybe because we were locals but the staff just kind of looked at us and didn’t say much. Wasn’t too impressed with their items either.

This is not your cheesy souvenir store peddling Kona coffee and shirts stating, «Someone who loves me went to the Big Island… blah, blah, blah.» The Gallery of Great Things is chalked full of artsy treasures from Hawaii and other locations in the Pacific and should you find yourself up in Kamuela, it is a must see! You’re encouraged to scan through drawers and look over histories attached to many items. Look, ask questions, appreciate and you will be rewarded by the owner with a bit of aloha and quite an education. I left with a beautiful sterling silver Hawaiian ring and a newly minted appreciation for the art and antiques in the gallery.

A must see! On your way through Waimea, DO stop at this place and check it out. There is SO much beautiful pieces of art big and small to feast on!

This store is a treasure trove. One room crowded with unique and gorgeous gifts followed by another. There are colorful things everywhere you look, inexpensive and pricey. I almost feel nervous about moving around for fear that I’m going to make a wrong step while transfixed and knock over a huge display of glass artwork. But the staff is cheery, knowledgeable and relaxed, even with curious youngsters in tow. I’m really not doing it justice in my description, but it’s a fun and interesting store. Stop by! I love the entire shopping center this is located in(Parker Square), but this shop is top notch.
