The proprietor Nanea is very friendly and quite helpful. She can pretty much resolve any knitting issue you have and is a wonderful teacher. I send anyone I know or anyone that asks here to be taught how to knit.

An extremely cute store tucked away in an unconventional spot. Their store hours are 10 – 4 on most days so for my schedule, they are not as convenient as, say, online or 24 hour Walmart but the biggest draw is the community of yarn crafters that come here. It feels extremely welcoming to know that when I came in today around 10:45, there were more than 5 people walking in and out, shopping, chatting about knitting, etc. Today was my first day out of over a year of wanting to check this place out. Their selection and prices are definitely on par with other yarn stores in town such as the retired Yarn & Friends. They have a wide selection of different types and weights, and in my opinion, a good balance between novelty and simple yarns. Online prices are definitely similar so for the woman who gave 3 stars, I am not sure if she understood that its usually that much for yarn outside of Cascade’s 440 or Lion Brand. The store also carries many needles(circular, dpn, and Addi), few crochet hooks, knitting patterns and latest magazines(two regulars were debating if one already bought the issue), a small selection of needle holders, and accessories. I don’t recommend bringing the whole family or a stroller due to the store’s size(then again, getting the stroller up the narrow stairway is a feat itself). There are various nooks and shelves filled with yarn that kids would easily want to play in, especially when they’re restless. But there is a cute sit-down area in front of the register where yarn-ers can relax, knit, and chat while their SOs read the paper and wait. The ac felt very nice with the current humid weather. If you’re starting out with the craft, come here for the fellowship and advice. If you’re expecting to find cheap yarn, stay home and research first.

The best store for knitters and crocheters! A wide variety of yarn in terms of types and brands. The owner is very nice and knowledgable. I could sit here all day and knit!

This is the most amazing yarn store. It is beautiful, very clean and you feel right at home when you come in. The store has a great selection of yarns, some knitting books and magazines, knitting needles and notions. The lady gave a knitting course while I was shopping and she paid great attention to to her course while at the same time attending to get customers. She is very nice and gives patiently advise trying to assist you in your shopping experience. I will definitely be back!

I was In there for at least an hour and no one greeted me, no one asked if I needed help(which I did), they’re prices are so expensive, and they have limited colors. I was very disappointed.

I like the shop very much, I feel welcome in the shop. There are a lot of good quality yarns but not much variety of crochet hooks to choose. Anyway, it’s my top list for yarn stores here so far

I just visited this yarn store today and I am in love! I can’t wait to get back there. Nanea(the owner) is so friendly and helpful. The previous reviews are spot on about everything! One thing that I would like to stress is that her pricing is competitive with online and local prices. I was looking for a few things and checke prices online and they matched! Why buy online when you can buy local?! Sweet! I would strongly encourage anyone on any side of the island to stop in here for all of your fiber needs. This shop is a home away from home. As for Nanea herself, she is like a friend you never knew you had. As soon as you start talking to her, it will seem like you could talk for hours. She has such an abundance of knowledge and is so willing to share it with others. It seems to be her passion. I am thankful I finally went here to check it out. Now I wish I’d come sooner!!!

This is a great little yarn shop. The owner was ver friendly and helpful. I went in to browse but I ended up buying yarn and needles. The items were very reasonably priced. I was a bit surprised considering Hawaii can be very expensive. I will definitely be back.

What a random little yarn shop. It sits on the second floor of a strip mall doors down from a tattoo parlor. It’s a little nook that offers a variety of yarns, as well as a regular knitting circle. Friendly staff and also facilitates a friendly knitting environment.

This is my favorite yarn store on island. It reminds me of my favorite yarn stores in California. The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, and the selection is varied and beautiful. This is the only shop I’ve been to here that has a sitting area where you can sit and knit with other fiber enthusiasts. There is a varied collection of fibers running from synthetics and novelty yarns to high end silk blends and sock yarns. Prices are not hugely inflated from her continental US counterparts. Aloha Yarn is a must visit for any enthusiastic knitter or crocheter, or any who’d like to learn!(they offer classes)

This store is extremely professional but still relaxing. There is a wide variety and she does focus on keeping yarn in stock that could be worn in Hawaiian weather. The owner is always there to ask questions to and will give her honest opinions. If you ever want to knit in the store she is always welcoming.

This is a legit yarn store! LOVEIT. They have everything. Sock yarn, bamboo, worsted wools of many kind. Tons of cascade(b/c you can’t ALWAYS use handpaited), tons of Noro. It’s pretty large, and though shoved next to a tattoo parlor, etc, you walk in and you’re in yarn paradise.

I visited Aloha Yarn a few times when I was just learning how to knit. I was very impressed with this yarn shop compared to many of the ones in Honolulu as it was comparable to yarn shops that I’m familiar with on the mainland. It’s a little shop on the upstairs level next to a tattoo parlor in the building next door to the post office in Kaneohe(I think). The owner is super friendly and helpful and always had a couple people knitting on the couches in the front. The selection was impressive for Hawaii. While most of the yarn shops focus a lot on the fuzzy yarn to make leis, she had a range of fibers and weights, from sock yarn from NC to bulky Cascade 128. There were lots of cotton yarns(of course, it is Hawaii) but a lot of staples that are common on the mainland, too. She also had a good selection of needles and magazines. Since my family lives in Kaneohe, this is the yarn shop that I’m closest to, but it’s also my favorite on the island.
