First class profressionals from the owner to the guys on the roof. They were courteous, quick and efficient. The price was right and product of better grade then I originally thought it would be. I definitely recommend them.

I recently moved into a new home and would you believe it? Our 1st day in the house begins with a COLD shower! Thanks to Unilocal,I found C&J Solar Solutions! I called them bright and early in the morning and got lucky to have one of the techy dudes answer the phone. He was SO sweet that he simply offered to «walk me through» re-setting my solar. I’m not a handy person and my husband expects HOT water when he takes a shower on Day #2 of being in our new home. These guys squeezed me in their schedule and walked me through on how to reset my solar panel(I think it shut off after having some other electrical work done). I looked like a rockstar in my husband’s eyes because he can have a hot shower & these guys are my heroes for coming to this damsel in distress!!! Our next goal is to take the leap and do the PV. After experiencing their speedy-ness & professionalism, we asked them to forward us a quote for the PV. WA-BAM! It was taken care of right away(gotta love that!) and so we’ll be moving forward working with them to assist us with that. Support a locally owned small business!!!

I had C&J Solar Solutions install a two panel solar water heater system on my home in Mililani. After calling them for a quote(around $ 6000.00 for a two panel install with a 120 Gallon water heater) on the 10th of Sept, and setting up an appointment for the 24th, I felt I was all set. C&J took care of the permits with the City & County as well as the Mililani Town Association. A crew of 3 people showed up right on time and performed the install. Total time for the installation was about 6 hours. Unfortunately for the installers, it started to rain towards the end of their job. Despite that I had a lot of mud on the side of my house, they still managed to keep things clean(work crews that I’ve dealt with in the past had not done so). After the install, one of the technicians gave me a quick rundown of how the system operates as well as passed along their owners manual. This is a booklet that they put together that has the information about the installation. Basic Solar water heating in general and also a complete list of all the hardware used. The booklet even had the technical specs on the brass valves used. The technicians also informed me that there is a requirement for a state inspector to come by and review the install in about one week. When this happened it was a very quick(10 – 15 minute review) and I was all squared away. Honestly, at this time I can’t recommend this company highly enough. However, if anything does fail with the system, I’ll come back and update this review.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. 3 years ago I had my solar water system installed by Dakmi and I guess C&J Solar bought them out and took over. About one month ago in March 2013, My solar water pump died, being that I was under the assumption that my system was under a 12 year warranty and C&J Solar took over, I called C&J Solar to ask them to come out and at no time did they mention that there would be a service charge. So a few days later they came out and the guy looked at the solar water pump and said, «this is a shitty pump»(his words not mine) they all have problems, and hit it with a screwdriver handle and it started working again. He then said«I can replace it for you with the exact same pump for $ 300.00, but it will probably die again in 2 – 3 years» I politely told him no thanks and he said ok, and left. I was not provided a work order or anything for his visit. Still no mention of any kind of service charges. A week later I get a bill for ~$ 47.12 for«resetting my thermostat» I did not realize hitting the pump with a screwdriver handle was considered«resetting the thermostat» So I called the company and explained the situation to them and they told me that I could just ignore the bill. On the same call I asked for a quote of how much it would be to replace the pump with one that would last much longer since I was still without a working solar water system. The lady told me that in addition to having them install the pump I would need to have an electrician install an outlet for the new pump, they would not do this for us. I explained that there was already 220v for the heater but she insisted we needed an outlet installed. So I told her I would think about it and get back to them. I hung up thinking at least I cleared up the bill issue. After debating on having C&J Solar install the pump and having to deal with the hassle of getting an electrician to install the outlet I decided to call another solar company. They did confirm that the PV pumps that were installed on many homes 3 – 4 years ago are all pretty bad. It was new technology and at the time it seemed like a really good idea, till real world experience showed that they were not meant to run constantly and wore out prematurely. They were able to do the pump and wiring for me so I had them install the pump for me a week later. This new pump is 220v and should last 20years! Flash Forward to today, I have just received a bill from C&J Solar again, billing me $ 240.00 for a new pump + $ 50.00 for labor, for a pump they have never installed?! I am pretty furious at this point, who is running this horrible company? How can you bill me for services not just once but twice that you have not even provided? Now I get to call and explain to them that they didnt actually do any work, this should be fun. Shady! I wonder how many people just pay bills that are sent to them regardless of services rendered. Those poor people. Stay far away from this company!
