Barrewoods

I lived in Barrewoods for about 2.5 years (and would have lived there longer, but fiancée and I bought a house). Overall, I had a great experience living there.
The staff at the front office is very helpful. They are friendly and host events once a month for the residents. These vary from a BBQ in the summer to a Super Bowl party in the winter. The front office has free coffee when it’s open and it’s easy enough to get to the mail area, gym, and other facilities within the main building. The pool is very nice to lounge around in and was never overcrowded in the time that I lived there, but still had people around during the main times during the day. Maintenance was very responsive, friendly, and quick to resolve issues. The community is very pet-​friendly. It’s also handy to have a free car wash on the property for the residents.
The apartment itself (the Vizio floor plan, the 1BR with a study) was a good amount of space for one person and a decent amount for two people (assuming they don’t have TOO much stuff). I only ever heard a neighbor through the walls once, and that was in the bathroom and was barely noticeable. The rooms themselves are fairly large and the high ceilings give a great impression of more space. Water and trash are a flat fee per month (dumpster and recycling area centrally located) and electricity is reasonable for electric heating and cooling. The facility can have AT&T UVerse and Google fiber hooked up. I recommend Google Fiber, because available UVerse speeds data speeds at the time maxed out at 24Mbits (about 18 – 20 wired, 15 – 16 wireless real-​world speeds). Much higher output from Fiber.
A few things to be aware of. It may be best to rent a covered parking spot because the free spots in some areas can be hard to come by near your building after about 9:30−10pm. There are some younger people who may throw parties, but it’s not excessive or overly noisy in my experience. If someone does park in your reserved spot, the new Resource Officer is fantastic, and if he’s paged he will ticket and work to have the car towed out ASAP.
In the end, if I hadn’t moved into a house, I would probably still be living there. It’s a great facility and I highly recommend it.

Beautifully maintained apartment homes in a wooded environment. Maintenance does a great job and so prompt. The staff know me by name and are always ready to help. So homey. I love it here!

Beautiful apts, new owners, they don’t seem to care about the tenents but about how much money they can make, it has gone down hill very quickly. Maintainance staff is top notch!
