Bonefish Grill

Glad we had reservations. This place is busy! Everyone we talked to prior to coming had good things to say. This was our first time here. Food was pleasing to the eye and palate. Waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our tab was less than we anticipated. Downside was the medium rare steak cooked to well done. Best part was the scallops and shrimp dish… Those shrimp were tasty! Drawn butter should be delivered with the lobster meal not after and should not be cold. Will still consider this place again in the future.

Good food. Friendly server. But Slow to deliver food. Expect more for the price you pay.

Had the Hooked On Tuesday special of the Pork Chop with mashed potatoes and French green beans as the entrée, with Caesar salad and Coconut Pie for dessert all for $ 17.90. What a great deal and meal!
Server very good and was very relaxing atmosphere. Will come here again!

Went here last night. We made a reservation for 6:45, we arrived early, but weren’t seated until about 7. Everything was fine, the bang bang shrimp was very good. The food was decent, but I was kind of surprised at how pricey it was for a chain that is pretty much on par with Red Lobster. (Today’s version of Red Lobster, not the 80’s version.) Our service was just ok. Every drink order was slow or had to be asked for twice and our entrees didn’t come out at the same time, butter for the shellfish which was cold when it finally got to the table. The crème brûlée had a great taste, but was a little runny. Overall nothing was bad, but it wasn’t great either.

Be sure to try the crab cakes! They’ve become our favorite place to go for celebrations. The atmosphere is good. The dress is more casual than I expected so do not feel you have to dress up. The can be hit and miss on getting the orders correct, but we usually dine around 430 – 5 when I’m sure the kitchen isn’t fully staffed.

I got the grilled salmon with lemon butter. I am usually pretty picky when it comes to cooking salmon but it was really fantastic. The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly. Bang, Bang Shrimp was also very good.

That was really good, especially for a «chain». The temperature in the dining room was only slightly above freezing (I’d guess). We had an attentive server that was very helpful, but not over-​bearing. The food we had was delicious (Bang Bang Shrimp tacos — huge portion and Lobster Roll).
While the prices are a bit steep, it’s better quality than the other seafood chains in town. I think you get what you pay for.

Do not take food allergies seriously!
My wife has many food allergies… Soy, Dairy and Celiacs disease for starters. Not convenient food diets but allergies that make her sick for days. She called ahead to make arrangements for our meal with family members. When we go out to eat she has easy solutions that focuses on what she can have instead of what she can not have. Despite calling ahead, they really messed it up, the manager had to step in, take the whole meal back and start from scratch. The part that always hurts me is that it makes going out to dinner a real stressor for my wife, she has no fun because she is made to feel bad about her allergies and is always waiting for what will happen next. In this case she came away within the hour of swollen joints and pain that is still hurting her… a result of cross contamination. The food is good but if you have food allergies they really do not take them seriously… stay away.

For my 27^th birthday, I invited my family here for dinner. We made a Sunday reservation and were sat promptly; servers greeted us quickly as well and drinks were delivered in a timely manner. No qualms there.
The nice thing about having a big group? I get to try everything everyone ordered! So for starters, we ordered the bang bang shrimp, thai coconut shrimp and maryland crab cakes. The thai coconut shrimp is good, but the sweet spicy sauce is a tad overwhelming (perhaps order it on the side?). I have had way better crab cakes so those were a disappointment.
For the main course, I wanted to try one of their specials — something out of my comfort zone. The crab crusted wolfish caught my eye — it was described as lean, firm with a sweet flavor. Yikes! Perhaps strange fish isn’t my forte. It was unremarkable; the crab crust did nothing to save the fish’s integrity. I did enjoy my side dishes of pumpkin ravioli and spaghetti squash.
My family ordered fish tacos, ahi tuna steak, ribeye steak, and shrimp pad thai. The ahi tuna was amazing! Great flavor. The fish tacos topped with mango salsa came in at a close second.
For the rest of dinner service, our waters were rarely filled. My sister sat with an empty glass for over 10 minutes. I’m particular about this. Our servers were great other than this fact. She did ask how my fish was since she noticed I barely ate half of it. Without me asking, the manager comped it after she came to apologize, and I ended up with a birthday cheesecake. This is almost enough to bump them a star, but alas the food didn’t quite hit the 4 star mark. Maybe next time, I’ll fare better.

Went here for Sunday brunch. They offer a $ 20 special where you get endless breakfast drinks and a brunch menu option. I selected the surf and turf eggs benedict and a mimosa. One of the eggs was cooked well and the other the egg was cooked completely through the yolk. Over cooked eggs are definitely a brunch sin. I switched to the blackberry sangria after a couple mimosas and it was a great drink. Overall it was a bit underwhelming. I would go back to try dinner though.

I only find myself in this part of town when I’m staying at the airport in anticipation for a trip. Instead of trying another lame place in Zona Rosa, we voted to come here. I had a tuna rice bowl which was quite good as well as a salad. The bread they brought out was wonderful as well. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was attentive.
I will definitely come back here instead of Zona Rosa in the future when staying at the airport.

Made reservations for Mother’s Day, it was packed but there was plenty of staff and they were well organized and in synch. Our server although extremely busy stayed on top of our table the entire time even ensuring our young daughter stayed happy. Our food was excellent as always, my wife couldn’t have been happier– a perfect Mother’s Day meal! Highly Recommend!

Stopped in here after a very long plane ride for an early dinner.
We had the Bang Bang Shrimp, Shrimp Tacos and the Steak and Crabcake entrees. Too much shrimp but it was my fault for what I ordered. All was cooked exactly as ordered. Service was good and over all the meal was just right since we hadn’t eaten since early in the morning.

Their Bang Bang Shrimp can officially bang me because we are in love. Seriously the best experience at a sit down restaurant in a long while. Food and service are exceptional!

I’m sad that I have a negative view of this place. It’s got everything possible to be «great» but it was just plain disappointing last weekend.
I’m attempting to be stricter with my food choices so Bonefish Grill was a great choice for dinner since they have a lighter menu.
We ordered oysters to start with, a little pricey but they weren’t too bad. It was awkward trying to flag down someone (we were sitting at the bar) to give us silverware and napkins.
For dinner I ordered tilapia with mango salsa on the side, whipped potatoes and steamed broccoli. The boyfriend had blackened fish tacos. My fish was good size but parts of it were extremely hard on the sides to where I had to spit them out because they were inedible. I ate around it. The broccoli was practically raw broccoli. I asked for different veggies and the bartender said that it’s usually good so he just reordered it for me. Second set of broccoli — not as raw but still not fully cooked. It shouldn’t be difficult to steam a veggie. It was like pulling teeth in order to get refills on water and simple things like pepper/​salt. The boyfriend thought his tacos were fine but nothing great.
We ended up saying something to the other bartender since there were 3 behind the bar and ours seemed to be Captain Space Cadet for the evening. She apologized and they ended up taking our 2 glasses of wine we got for happy hour ($ 3.25 each) off of the bill.
It would have been a lot more enjoyable if they would have given better service and cooked the food correctly.

Food and service was great!
Between the two of us, we were definitely fatties ordering the Bang Bang Shrimp, Calamari, Kobe burger and Fish and chips. Definitely over-​ordered but the shrimp was so on point! Reminded me of the Americanized version of the Cantonese Honey Walnut and Shrimp dish.

So I’ve been meaning to check out this place for some time now. I hear time and time again how it’s amazing. I hear how you have to try the bang bang shrimp. I hear it has the best, fresh sea food. Well, the opportunity arose for me to pick a place to eat with the other night, so I seized it and chose the Bonefish Grill.
We had a 5pm reservation and got there promptly at 5pm. The hostess found our reservation and directed us towards a booth that sat 6 in the bar area. Now I am thinking, I really made a reservation to sit in the bar? Whatever though, I went with it.
So we sat down and the server immediately got our drink and app orders (yes we got the Bang Bang Shrimp). The drinks were top notch and the Bang Bang Shrimp was well, pretty explosive (you see what I did there?). I was impressed by the quantity of shrimp in the appetizer.
Next came the main course. Amongst us was an assortment of Ahi Tuna, Salmon, and chicken. Now up until now I was thinking how did I miss this place for so long? After eating my dinner it was pretty average in my opinion. Sure the tuna was good, but it wasn’t like I’m going to be remembering it. Same goes for the other fare I tasted. Everything was good, just not remarkable.
In the end the atmosphere was pretty great, the drinks were also great, the apps were indeed great, the service was top notch, however the main course just sort of fizzled out in my opinion.
I’d highly recommend the Bonefish for a happy hour and it’s great table service. However I will still be searching for great seafood in KC.

Perfectly cooked salmon. This was the best salmon I have ever had in my life.
Antonia is a great server no doubt but I could’ve overlooked even bad service the salmon was so amazing. The salmon was so perfect I’m afraid to ever eat salmon again. I was sad as I ate it because I knew it would be gone. Thank you Poseidon for the fish that gave its life for my feast.

This was my first time coming here and I give it 3 stars here’s why.
Good news. The food was awesome! I got the bang bang shrimp (which is $ 6 on Wednesdays) as well as the calamari. The bang bang shrimp was so good. Spicy but delicious. The calamari was also great especially with that yummy Asian sauce! For my entrée I got the tilapia with the lemon butter sauce with the whipped mashed potatoes. It was amazing! Super moist and has the perfect amount of seasoning.
Bad news. I was super disappointed with my service. It could have just been my waitresses fault but here’s what happened. She rushed our order and gave us the check without us even asking or being near ready for it! What was worse is she was taking care of the table next to us and I watched 2 different couples get seated there and she had so much energy and was waiting on them hand and foot. I was dressed nicely, said my pleases and thank you’s as well as asked for her favorites on the menu. I was super angry and completely killed the mood.

I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time but just never had a chance to check it out. Well I finally got a chance to go and was very glad that I went. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The food was so good, that I went back the very next day! The manager was there when I went the 2^nd time and had actually remembered me from the day before and spoke to me.
One of my favorite items on the menu is «Bang Bang Shrimp» and they offer it for just $ 5 all day long on Wednesdays. The seafood is really fresh and the flavor of it all is really good.
