I am giving one star because it’s the only way to write a review. UNDERNOCIRCUMSTANCE use this awful«repair“shoe place. I took a pair of my husband’s italian shoes to have the heels replaced, I was asked to pay in advance 32.50. When I picked them up, I saw the heels where replaced with Rubber heels marked Goodyear!!! I told the owner(who’s a vey gruff Russian) that he had put the wrong heels as no one in their right mind would have done this to a fine pair of leather dress shoes!!! Not to mention it was so shoddily done! Please don’t deal with this shop, it’s a total scam. I then went directly to Renner’s on the Plaza and told Jeff my sad story, he wasn’t surprised at all and said he needs to send this guy in Brookside a thank you note for all the business he gets to redo his mistakes.

Extremely rude owner. I ended up leaving because she required prepayment if I wanted them done in a week. Then said she could have them done this afternoon. I should have listened to the other reviews of this place.

I took in several boots for heel tip replacement and he did it while I was waiting. I was happy with the service, so I returned with a broken zipper on my boot. The same zipper that was screwed up at another shoe repair place in Prairie Village. My mom took the boot in and was told that the zipper would be replaced, but it had to be ordered. A couple weeks I returned to pick up the boot. I took them home and put them on and the zipper was still broken. I looked at the stitching and it was exactly the same as before i took the boot in for repair. I knew it had not been replaced, although I paid $ 50. When I returned with the boot, he finally admitted to not replacing the zipper. Charging for the replacement zipper and not replacing it is unethical and a scam. This time he agreed to replace the zipper…“at no charge”…jeez! Thanks, since I already paid for it once. Not cool.

Owner was a little gruff, but I appreciated his honesty when he told me he couldn’t repair a pair of boots. Then he showed me why they were irreparable so I wouldn’t waste my time trying to find someone else to repair them. I showed him another pair of shoes, explained that they were a favorite pair, and he made special efforts to fix them and charged $ 5. I’ll be going back with any shoes that need repairing.
