I don’t come here often, but when I do, I’ve always felt ‘Meh’ about the experience. While the food has been decent, the customer service here has always ranked somewhere between«ok» and«atrocious». I’ve been here three times, and I’ve tried the pizza, hotdog and a sandwich from here. I will say that if you are thinking about ordering pizza here… go ahead! It’s tasty! If you are thinking about ordering a sandwich… you will be just fine. If you are thinking about ordering a hotdog… for the love of all things holy, eat somewhere else.

Food is good. Customer service and attitude was horrible. Communication was horrible — The right-handed not know what the left hand is doing. At lunch time we should not be told it is a 30 minute wait for a slice of pizza. Then when we show up to get the whole pizza we ordered and there were plenty of slices available– even a whole pizza(which they wouldn’t give us). The people who are at the front serving the customers should be happy and cheerful. Maybe if they were paid more they would be happier. I don’t know but it was not a pleasant experience dealing with the blond headed lady rolling her eyes at me.

Best carrot cake ever. Pasta salad was good. Sandwich was just ok. Lunch cashier was a Gunther from Friends wannabe and must have been from NYC – no customer service skills. The evening cashier was very friendly.

Honestly, I’m wondering about some of these reviews. I just ate here with my family, and the food was great. Pizza by the slice was amazing, tasty and huge. Jersey style slice was pretty authentic and better than my local. Also had the pastrami hoagie, which was excellent. Tasted like east coast hoagies. My wife is vegetarian and usually hard to please, but there were many vegetarian options for her to choose from. She picked the d’bronx vegetarian and said it was delicious. What am I missing??!

Service was so bad that we ended up getting our money back instead of waiting for our food. There seemed to be plenty of employees just no organization or sense of urgency. Very disappointed because we were really looking forward to trying the pizza.

My family and I are HUGE fans of d’Bronx. a slice of «special» is one of the best slices in town, and we frequent both the 39th and Metcalf location. This one in Crown Center however is a real disappointment… On a Saturday at 11:15 they said they weren’t making any special because they were out of Canadian Bacon. Then, when I ordered a slice with 2 – 3 ingredients they said they couldn’t do that because they were busy. Seriously? Poor service, poor selection, high prices for what you actually get. Big fans of d;Bronx but not fans of this location at all.

Could not actually go here. Their website does not have hours on it. Their door does not have hours on it. Their online menu says they open at 11 on Sunday. This is not the case. They need to keep their information current. The food is fine but it isn’t good enough to wait for so we went somewhere else.

I had lunch here last Spring and thought maybe this place was having an «OFF» day. Soup was watery with no flavor. Pizza was mushy and below par. I decided to give it another chance today… but never ordered. When I entered, there were 3 people waiting for their order. The woman who takes orders was talking with a friend. I am assuming this because they seemed to be having a very nice conversation!!! I waited… and waited. She finished with her buddy, turned to me and nodded her head and said«what do ya want»? I guess she was frustrated with me. I didn’t order and heads up d’bonx…I won’t ever be ordering there again!!! This was Noon at Crown Center and your restaurant was the only one that wasn’t busy. That says a lot right there! You need to up your game and make your employees realize that they get paid because patrons come in there and order food. Good luck!

im the past I have always been a fan of D’Bronx pizza. However other pizza spots around Kansas City are giving them some serious competition. Places like Santora’s and Spin for example. The cheese pizza I ate on this particular occasion didn’t plead their case on why I should remain loyal to them either. The taste of it was watery. Not just the sauce but also the cheese and crust. I can’t imagine how that was even possible. In addition to the off putting taste the restaurant was dirty. Trash was littered on the floor and the prep area looked unorganized and unclean. I noticed half a pizza laying on the counter by the ovens and gnats by the drink machines. D’Bronx used to be at the top of my list when it came to pizza. Now it seems like the restaurant has a lot of work to do if they want to stay in the pizza game.

Pizza is very bad. It tastes like middle school lunch line pizza. With it’s name I expected New York style pizza and I was very disappointed. A 16″ pepperoni pizza is 15 $ when is worth less than a dollar. Don’t waste your money I orders from little Caesars and it was better…

Worst pizza ever! It taste like a public school cafeteria pizza. Not worth $ 16. Mushy, no flavor! I immediately ordered from a different pizza place after one bite. Don’t waste your money here!

Best pizza I have ever eaten. One reviewer said it did not compare to New York pizzas. Have had lots of pizzas in NYC and this beats the crap out of those. The guys working there give you a hard time which makes it fun. They are comical.

Huge slices of pizza! I ordered two for lunch and was good to go until dinner time. I had hamburger and mushrooms as my toppings. Both slices were loaded with hamburger and a good amount of mushrooms as well. However the mushrooms would not stay on either slice as I was eating them, I think maybe more sauce would have helped them stay. I would definitely eat there again if I was in the neighborhood. Would I make a special trip just to eat there? No.

My wife and I have been going here for years. Our sandwiches and pizza have always been very good as has the service. We were at d’Bronx yesterday after going to the auto show and we both had sandwiches… my wife had corned beef and swiss on rye and I had pastrami & swiss on rye. Both meats were hot, tender, and juicy. The rye bread was fresh and tasty and the sandwiches had plenty of melted swiss cheese.

So, frustrated with the offerings that were within walking distance of my hotel, and walking back and forth in the mall, finally decided on d’bronx, which seemed fairly benign, as a walk up, pizza by the slice sort of place. Ordered a Reuben. Took about 10 minutes. Piping hot, good pastrami, just the right amount of herb in the rye. Overall, pretty happy. Service was quick, very business like. No complaints.

Super pizza by the slice. Not skimpy on added toppings. Closest thing to NY pizza in KC.

I’m torn between two and three stars for this review. The pizza was just alright. It wasn’t bad, but it is certainly forgettable. I had one slice of pepperoni and one slice of Canadian bacon. The Canadian bacon was the better of the two pieces, but it was just kind of dry and I’m not even positive there was sauce on it. I decided to lean towards three stars as my other half thinks this place is something magical, though no amount of reasoning could ever make me understand his thought process behind that one. For what you get, this place is seriously overpriced, even if it is inside of a mall. On the plus side, the workers were friendly.

It was a good sandwich. It’s hard to knock my socks of with a sandwich because no matter what it is, it’s still a sandwich. That being said, I was starving and running late so my daughter and I had to eat in the car. Try very hard NOT to eat a D’Bronx sandwich in your car. I got everything on mine and I’m so glad it didn’t include onions. If it did, I didn’t taste them. The vinaigrette and mayo mixed with the juicy tomato and decorated my clothes. The crusty bread(yum) crumbed up my pants and added to the overall new look of my outfit. I complained to my daughter who got an unadorned roast beef and cheese. She said,“But just look at me! I have crumbs of bread AND crumbs of meat on my pants! «Was it good? Did you like it?», I asked. «Oh yes, I loved it.», was her reply. D’Bronx makes a messy good sandwich.

I had wanted to go here for a while, but my friend was not as hell bent on it as I was. We passed on the super bacon creation nearby and went into d’bronx. Since I am from NJ i was so happy that I could find a place that makes deli like sandwiches – sort of, kind of… close to home. My friend got the pizza and found it to be soggy, and full of heartburn creations. My sandwich on the other hand was delicious – except that they did not have a kaiser roll. I was thrilled also that their soda – one of their brands was Boylan’s – made in NJ! All natural is available… really a treat. OK…some have rated d’Bronx as less than perfect – and I understand. I, too, wasn’t sure if they would bring the food or if you go in and get it(it was close to closing time – like everything else in KC… everything closes too early!!). i went in at the last minute. Servers are so so… I agree… food. I liked it. Only bad thing is that in NJ most places are open late at night, or in some cases, they have a 24hr deli. KC take notice!!!

I walked up to the counter and ordered a slice with everything on it. The guy asked where I would be sitting and I told him right outisde the shop. I then asked«Sooo…how do you do this? Do you bring the food to me or do wait and pick it up?» Granted, as soon as I said it, I knew it was a stupid question. I am aware of this. But in response, the guy said«Are you serious!?! I’ve never been asked that before.» I covered my face with my hands in embarassment and went to get my drink. The slices are big, but the pizza isn’t good… mushy without much flavor. The boys making my pizza and the boy making sandwiches were adorable. They were smiling and dancing to the music and I couldn’t help but smile back at them even though their register guy embarassed me.
