Doug has been in the same Waldo location since 1979 and does a great job at a reasonable price on foreign cars. I’ve been going to Doug’s since late 2008.
Took my daughter’s VW in late last week. Doug said he couldn’t get to it but if I brought it in on ³⁄₈ he’d get it taken care of. He did. If he says it needs to be done; do it! He’s as honest as the day is long…

Doug was a lucky find and made my car drive smoother & faster than it ever has for a nice price. My ’01 VW turbo bug was in a real rut. Doug took his time to «research» what was wrong with my car from every angle and explained things to me in a very understandable way. He «shopped» around for the best priced parts, he even welded together a custom part for me when his custom maker was jacking up the price. Doug didn’t think I should have to pay more then I needed to and he wanted my car fixed right. Honesty and customer concern is hard to find in a mechanic, especially for foreign cars.

Doug really live up to all of the review that he gets from Unilocal… I believe that there are some Good Samaritan still out there and he is by far one of them… He fixed my car for $ 400 less than I was quoted by Perkins and went above and beyond of fabricating a parts that is discontinued by dealership… I highly and strongly recommend Doug Motorwerks to my friends and family… Honest Auto Mechanics are hard to find nowadays and Doug is one of them…

I have used this shop several times for my 240Z. They have always done a great job and they are honest. It is the only place I will trust my Z to.

This is a small shop tucked away in the back lot of Gunter Pest Management in Waldo. Doug is a master mechanic and he has a helper. Doug is probably one of the best mechanics in Kansas City. I know that when some of the big shops like Baron or Aristocrat can’t solve the mystery mechanical problem, they ship it over to Doug to fix it. He works on my Lexus and VW Beetles. He also works on Rolls Royces, BMW’s, Mazarattis, and high performance racing boats. He is amazing.
