The gastro pub burger was the best! Also, their beer, which they brew in house, was on point!

Worst service EVER. The turkey burger has a consistency of wet dog food and the barf created by the dog that ate the food. Waited 30 minutes for drinks. This would be a good place to open a bar.

I came here after a long day of conference workshops and talk to relax over drinks with the colleagues. Very average place but no complaints. Had a mojito and shared a side of fries. Again, pretty good but nothing really special. Service was a little slow(but that being said, the hostess was very kind and did let us know that they were very busy). I wouldn’t mind coming again, but definitely would want to try other restaurants around the area also.

I got a couple small appetizers and my husband got a burger. He loved the burger and I loved the garlic fries. They are probably 50% garlic and 50% fries. I love garlic, so that’s not a complaint. The service was excellent. I was dehydrated and was basically chugging water and the waitress was totally on it.

Ordered the California chicken wth garlic fries. Will never get either again. Garlic fries were complete salt. I thought the chicken sandwich was all bread and no contents. A friend thought it tasted like cardboard. Another friend got the lopster shrimp tacos and thought they were great. Beer was also good. Service slow. Just don’t go here.

We went for lunch before a movie on Sunday. It wasn’t very busy when we arrived but still took a while for the staff to acknowledge us. Server was nice but seemed somewhat overwhelmed by his section. Food was good, tried the fish & chips and got a huge plate, which was nice. Decent overall experience. We’ll be back but not my first choice.

Didn’t need a reservation even on a Saturday night. You can taste test the beers before committing to one. I ordered the chicken salad with dried cranberries, grapes blue cheese and walnuts, which was flavorful. I appreciated that it wasn’t drenched in dressing! The establishment definitely felt like a chain restaurant in the sense that the menu didn’t feel very localized. Although the staff was friendly, they weren’t all dressed in similar uniform or at least wearing a name badge, so I couldn’t tell at first who to speak with to get a table.

As part of my 2016 Resolutions, I am trying the Whole30 eating plan where you basically eat whole foods and get ride of anything that is processed, deep fried, full of grains and dairy. It’s not for everyone, but I wanted to give my body a good rest. With that said, the day we stopped in(January 15th) was a work anniversary for me. My boss and co-worker wanted to treat me to a lunch. If any reviewers are familiar with the Whole30, there are LOTS of restrictions on some of the foods you find in the restaurant. I scoured the menu and landed on the Mahi Mahi, some seasonal veggies and seasonal fruit. I did my due diligence by calling the restaurant and kindly asked to speak to the chef. Jason was on duty that morning and was courteous enough to speak with me. We came up with a plan and he said to have to server let him know I was there and that he would come to the table. When we arrived, I did as he instructed and he came right over. We shook hands, reiterated the order and he said that he’d take care of me. And he did a great job! I could not have been happier! The food came out just as I asked and it was very Whole30 compliant. As people try new things, have certain dietary needs or have certain allergies, I would highly recommend giving GB a call and talk to Jason. He was extremely helpful and the food was amazingly simple! Loved it. Thank you Jason and Gordon Biersch for being so understanding! I will definitely recommend eating here to anyone!

We randomly decided to pop in for some small plates after an event last night. We had appetizers prior to coming here, and were just looking for something small to round out our dinner. Both of us were underwhelmed with the food. My boyfriend had a chopped salad and it was very saturated in dressing. I ordered two small plates– the grilled veggie plate and the beer steamed mussels. The beer steamed mussels were extremely overcooked and half of my mussel shells were empty when they arrived at the table. I really wish someone in the kitchen would have checked the shells before serving them so I would have had full ones. The grilled veggies contained mostly(obviously not grilled) fresh spinach, which was confusing. There were a few small pieces of grilled red pepper and onion mixed in with the spinach but it looked far more like a salad than a grilled veggie plate, which was disappointing. Our server was attentive, so I will give this place two stars instead of one for the service. The food, however, solidifies that we will likely never eat here again.

I had dinner there last night while travelling for work. Had a blonde ale like bier which was very good, some wings and a Kobe Black and Bleu burger. Everything was tasty yet nothing differentiated itself from other similar places although the garlic fries packed some taste. Prices were reasonable, service was sufficient and the atmosphere was comfortable. Modern styling and plenty of room. Good for 1, 2 or a group. I could see myself going back but will continue to «shop» other eateries when in KC.

Went here after work for happy hour. I knew their specialties are beers, but I tried a mojito and it was awful. Not drinking again in this place. However, food was really good. I had some fish tacos, we were great! Good atmosphere, a little pricey. Service was meh! Conclusion: i’d go for the food. Not for the drinks.

I really enjoyed the beer German style they were delicious! The food was also amazing, my min entrée was the bourbon salmon which comes with a side of kale and quinoa salad, the salmon was cooked beautifully and the spiced perfectly. For dessert I enjoyed the triple chocolate brownie which was perfectly moist and soft just like I prefer. Overall I had a great dinner here and enjoyed the service as well.

Walking around town can make one hungry and thirsty. Looking at all the various establishments in the area, we stumbled upon Gordon Biersch. We were super surprised that it wasn’t packed at 5 pm on a Saturday afternoon/early evening. This place was amazing. They sat us close to the bar so that we still had access to the game(it is all about the important things in life). There were so many options to choose from. Our waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was awesome. So I am a beer girl, and my friend is a mixed drink kind of gal and we were able to let both worlds collide as we enjoyed our beverages. Since there were so many choices, I went with a flight(which you can never go wrong with) and she went with a mixed drink that had ginger beer in it(sadly, I can not remember the name, but it was amazing). As for food, she chose the veggie burger sliders with homemade chips and I went with the kobe black and bleu burger with garlic fries. Both of the meals were amazing. Their garlic fries brought me back to the days of hanging out at the Oakland Coliseum/Candlestick/Att Park watching sports whilst noshing on this garlicy goodness. If you are in the area, totally worth checking out!

The Roasted(or Seared) Salmon was not aptly named. It should be along the lines of ‘Twice’ Roasted Salmon that you will never be able to swallow, unless you are the person who can eat 6 saltine crackers in a minute. Too long? Well not near as long as it will take for your food to actually make it down your throat; it will definitely take several attempts. If that sounds offputting, just wait until you need to use the restroom and run into the female cook screaming such obscenities into her phone that even Daniel Tosh would be offended. She can, of course, be avoided by just holding it until you reach your next destination. The one great thing about Gordon Biersch? John, the bartender. Therefore, my advice to you is to sit at the bar, only order drinks, and don’t break the seal.

On this particular visit, we sat at the bar. We wanted a place to try some new beer and grab a quick bite to eat before going to see a movie. Service was quick and friendly. We selected 6 of their handcrafted beers to sample(beer flight for $ 6.99): golden export, czech pilsner, marzen and hefeweizen. I can’t recall the other two we sampled. Our bartender did a great job giving us a quick review of each beer. The best one was the hefeweizen! We paired our beers with garlic fries and a margherita flatbread. The garlic fries are overwhelmingly garlicky but delicious! I’m certain there’s no gum strong enough to mask this dish afterwards. Overall, this was a good visit but nothing really stood out that would make me choose this restaurant over the other contenders in the district. I will certainly need to pay another visit to try those tacos everyone is raving about.

Great experience. Dustin was our server and he was very knowledgeable. We are from Houston and my husband has 3 plates at the Flying Saucer so the man knows his beer. I had a Hefeweizen which Dustin recommended after I specified that I am a Blue Moon gal and like wheat beers. I cannot recall what my sweet hubby had. I will update when I find out. The garlic fries are a little slice of perfection. I have never had anything remotely close to these fries. I am addicted and so disappointed that I cannot get them here in Houston. Gur. Well I guess I will have to visit again so I can totally eat these things until I explode! I also had a slider. Total yumness. I wish I had time to try more of their offerings but we were not there for too long. Sigh. Since we stayed in the Power Light district, we did have some of these glorious fries each night. Great micro brewery. Friendly staff. Big plus to me is that it was not a yahoo-serious gathering place. 20 Halley puppies holding a golf ball in their mouth wagging their tails!

LOBSTERTACOS!!! Ok, seriously I obviously can’t just have my review just be me screaming about how amazing the lobster and shrimp tacos were, but seriously I cannot seem to emphasis this enough… LOBSTER TACOs! My boyfriend and I came here this past weekend after I’d heard about their tacos from a client of my manicurist. From the day I heard about the lobster tacos and garlic fries, I knew we had to go. We decided to go this past weekend to the downtown location so that I could stop by my tattoo parlor after lunch. We arrived around noon, and due to it being a damp and dreary day, we were seated quickly in a largely empty restaurant. Our server, whose name I never did catch, took wonderful care of us… although I feel that he wasn’t exactly happy to have anyone seated in his section. Regardless of his personality, he did a great job of making sure that we had everything we needed without hovering over us too closely. Rather than ask for recommendations, which I usually do at new restaurants, we went ahead and just pursued the menu and jumped on whatever sounded appetizing. We started with the amazing blue crab and artichoke dip(OMG try it!!!) — perfect start to counter the dreary day outside. Obviously I ordered the Lobster and Shrimp tacos and my boyfriend ordered their Cioppino. Both were incredibly delicious(of course, he thought that the cioppino had to much seafood for him… seriously tho???) and definitely hit the spot. One thing about the tacos, it might not make sense but the pairing with garlic fries was perfect. Don’t switch it for something else. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we signed up for their Passport Rewards program, so we’ll obviously be back. And next time, we’ll actually order dessert!

This was my first visit, and I found the atmosphere warm and inviting, the décor attractive, and the noise level very low… perfect for dinner with a friend. But we were there about 9PM on the freezing cold Monday before Fat Tuesday, and I’m guessing the«regular» brew-pub crowd was home resting up for Mardi Gras revelry! Our server, Brandon, was exceptional. He was personable, low-key funny, attentive(just the right amount), and very knowledgable about the menu. I was happy to complete the online survey afterwards(which I would encourage others to do… it benefits you AND your server) because he deserved kudos!(And no, we’re not related, or even acquainted!) We asked for menu recommendations, and one of his top picks was the Shrimp & Lobster Tacos, which come with very tasty garlic parmesan fries. The tacos are served with what is billed as a «Cajun remoulade.» Not being a fan of overly spicy foods, I asked about it, and bless him, Brandon let me know that there was an optional sauce, a lemon remoulade with only a small«kick,» which was the perfect accompaniment to the big delicious chunks of shrimp and lobster! Each crispy blue taco shell is surrounded by a soft taco shell that works perfectly to hold the whole thing together, making it SO much easier to eat without all the good stuff falling out! And it makes a handsome presentation(see photo). My companion had the Shrimp & Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese, which was good, but suffice it to say, she was jealous of my terrific tacos! I’ll try to attach the pasta photo too, but that plate needs a colorful garnish. The lonely tomatoes were covered with a topping that made them disappear into the blandness. I wish we’d had enough room left over to try one of the truly tempting desserts, but our meal portions were plenty filling!

I’m not a beer drinker so the brewery part doesn’t really pertain to me. Other than that, it’s your typical bar food restaurant. A large menu divvied up by tabs along the bottom so you won’t get quite as overwhelmed with 87 different menu choices staring you back in the face. We ended up getting the California beach tacos(one for $ 4.95), a side order of sweet potato fries($ 3.95) and the Farmhouse burger($ 11.75). I wouldn’t come out of my way to eat here but it’s good enough to satiate your hunger if you’re hankering for some good olé fashioned bar food.
