This may actually be the first hotel I’ve ever stayed at the achieved my five star ranking. I give one star of each of the following: 1. Water pressure and shower quality. Usually shower heads are positioned way too low and the water pressure sucks or I need a book on how to figure out how to make the hot water work. Here, great water pressure and shower head was positioned so that my 6’1 height was easily accommodated. It was a beautiful shower. 2. Cleanliness. I’m no super picky but at least make your place appealing and seem like people aren’t doing in hotel rooms that we know occurs in hotel rooms all of the time. This place is super clean. 3. Noise. I love when I can sleep peacefully in an unfamiliar spot and am not bothered by the couple next room over and the headboard or by a large group of young girls at a gymnastics contest, which this place had 50 of tonight. No hotel noise, it was beautiful 4. Staff quality. I like checking into a place where the staff treats me like I’m not ruining their day by forcing them to be there. I also like it when they know how to use the computer and boom I’m checked in. Staff here was polite and friendly 5. Finally and most importantly. Does it appear as though I’ll be killed, robbed or some combination thereof? I personally have no desire to be featured on an episode of The First 48 and when I’m staying in a city to which at least a season of that show has been dedicated is important that I’m not shown on it because I made the wrong hotel choice. This place, though it is situated amongst several other hotels did not remotely give me the feeling that I would be victim of a crime. If you’ve read this whole thing thank you. This is a good hotel. Stay here.

Pros: the place is generally clean, quiet and the breakfast is reasonably decent. Cons: the fitness facility is small and limited, and like most Hampton Inns, there’s no on site bar/lounge. I’ve spent a fair number of nights at this property and found the staff to be generally friendly. Not a bad budget option for North KC.

Requested a non smoking room… when I got to my room, it smelled like an ashtray. Went downstairs to get another room… went to the new room and it also smelled like an ashtray… checked out. Also, next to highway so noise level is high.

Stayed for a quick overnight without the kids. Attended an event at the Ameristar Casino nearby. We showed up a little after 4:00 and when we walked in the entry, everything appeared to be very clean and smelled like they just baked some cookies. Good lounge area. Quick check in. The room was on the second floor above the pool. Room appeared clean and inviting. We got ready for our event and left a little after 5. Arrived back late to get some sleep and noticed some crusty spots on the sheets while turning the bed down. Promptly removed the sheet and slept well on the comfortable bed. My rating went from 4.5 to 3 because of the sheet. Pretty gross… We didn’t get a chance to take in many of the amenities so I can’t rate them.

Probably between a 3 and 4 stars. My two biggest complaints. The wifi speed feels slow. And, second, I was in Room 301(top floor, western most side of the hotel), and all night long there was some kind of motor cycling on and off. Not especially loud, but clearly audible. It would cycle on about every 60 — 90 seconds for 2 or 3 seconds at a time. Maybe some kind of compressor, or possibly a tractor trailer sitting out on the side road. I asked the desk clerk about it, and he didn’t know(and didn’t do anything except offer sympathy). Other than that, it is a decent member of the Hampton family in KC. Not much in the way of dining immediately near by. There is a bar and grill next door, and a QuikTrip on the other side.

I really like it here. The rooms are clean and spacious, and there a homey feel to it. Staff is friendly and breakfast is free. Usually oatmeal, meats, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. The staff has always been helpful to me as well. The location is near major highways near Worlds of Fun amusement park. There does not seem to be much surrounding the hotel, however if you need an entertaining Waffle House across the street. Oh yes, parking, it’s free.

Hi All, Stayed he on a business trip. The rooms were clean. The room had a flat screen with an exceptionally large Tv channel offering. The room had a large mini-fridge. The breakfast was actually better than most Hamptons. My only complaint was that the counter staff did not seem as professional as normal. But that really did not affect my stay. Would I stay here again? Probably not because the Harrahs casino is 5 minutes away, and they often have special internet deals. For instance, my room was about $ 100. At Harrahs, the Internet deal was for $ 40. Plus Harrahs has excellent restaurants(see my other reviews) Anyway, decent place. Can’t go wrong staying here. –MSZ
