What a fantastic and timely find.
Though I’m originally from Kansas City, I’ve been out in SoCal for the past decade. I started going to acupuncture a little over a year ago here in LA to conquer a lingering staph infection that Western medicine could not fix. That has been going… OK. It’s only been the last couple of months that I questioned my care here.
Cue to a visit to KC last month when I come down with a fantastic case of shingles. Ouch! Knowing going to the regular doc would amount to high priced visits and useless meds, I searched Unilocal frantically to find an acupuncture in town… man there are some slim pickings in this town! Plenty of people who will stick needles in you, but my gut told me to go for someone who does Chinese medicine, too. Even slimmer pickings.
And lo and behold, a Unilocal deal! I snatched this puppy up. Thank goodness I did. Jennifer was wonderful from the onset. Unlike my regular acupuncturist here in LA – who-​shall-​not-​be-​named – Jennifer took the time to listen to my whole medical background, ask questions, take careful notes (something that has always bothered me about my regular one), and issued the precise and individual treatment I needed and have been lacking all along! My shingles were 80% better in less than 24 hours.
And, being out of town and such, Jennifer also took the time to look up reliable practitioners here in LaLa land, along with lists of the herbs I was taking, the needles that work best for me (I’m special), and an ongoing offer for follow-​ups via e-​mail.
Kansas City, wake up! Trust your gut, try something new, and check out this gem. You will feel a lot better for it, body AND mind.

I’m still in disbelief at the night and day change in my health as a result of Jennifer’s custom treatment with Chinese herbs and acupuncture.
I sought help from Jennifer for my chronic and debilitating headaches/​migraines this summer. Before seeing Jennifer, I was getting headaches multiple times a week. As you may know, the usual treatment for headaches is unhealthy dose of medicine and pain killers with terrible side effects. I tried over and over to reduce the pain of my headaches with these pain killers with little to no relief. I really thought they were unstoppable.
When I decided to finally try another treatment method, I was hoping to make them less frequent or possibly less severe. I would have never guessed we would be able to eliminate the consistent headaches I’ve had for over a decade in less than a month. Jennifer does an outstanding job of listening to my concerns and reacting with treatment accordingly. I believe her experience in Chinese medicine and acupuncture lead to my unbelievably fast treatment.
As a result of this treatment, I’m feeling more balanced than ever. I literally went from having headaches every weekend to absolutely none. The same things that use to trigger headaches have no effect on me now.
I cannot recommend trying Jennifer’s Chinese medicine and acupuncture services enough, no matter how chronic your health problem may be. Her midtown office has been super convenient and she is always available if I had any questions between visits.
