The food here was so delicious! I ordered lunch and it was amazing. The chicken sandwich on rye bread was so good. The service was also great, and very thorough.

You will not leave place hungry! Huge portions and terrific quality. If there is a line out the door… WAIT…it’s worth it!

This place was good. It’s a cute place and everyone was fun and friendly! I got a pork tenderloin sandwich, it was pretty good. And kids and husband got breakfast. It filled everyone up and made everyone happy! The wait wasn’t long either.

We went in on a Saturday afternoon & the 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 children had great speedy service. I warn you now the food portions are huge. We had everything from the Philly, Reuben, Salad(which was huge & fresh), fish & chips, chicken fingers, and everyone was in a happy food coma. The onion rings are fantastic. If you leave there hungry it is your fault. I live on the other side of town but would be a regular if I lived closer. The staff is super friendly and checked on us frequently. Great experience, great place it eat.

I don’t know what to say about this place except the food was very good and the portions are HUGE. This is a place where the locals eat. The staff makes you feel right at home. They are so warm and friendly. The food takes a while to cook but it is well worth the wait! If you are ever in the Kansas City, Missouri area please go eat there!

Delicious food and top-notch waitresses I admit that in my 30+ trips to Jerry’s I’ve only tried a few dishes, so I don’t know if ALL of their food is fantastic, but what can I say, everything I’ve tried of theirs IS fantastic. It’s not their fault that I refuse to move past my chosen dishes xD Everyone there is so nice, even the cooks are funny and personable. I’ll miss Jerry for sure, he was the greatest, but he must have left the place in smart hands because they didn’t change a bunch of stuff. I suppose it’s a quirk of mine that isn’t common, but when I’m done eating I want my bill. At Jerry’s they don’t make us wait 10 minutes or make me flag someone down. They do this crazy thing called«paying attention». I like it!

With some of the best breakfast food in town it’s too bad it’s paired with the worst service. The wait staff is faced with an impossible task of taking care of everybody in such a confined space. Their popularity has lead to disinterest and a complete lack of attention and respect for their guests. We were left to stand at the entrance for literally 25 minutes with not even a «be with you in a min». No eye contact, no the wait is… We have always loved Jerrys food but with such poor accommodations and feeling invisible to the staff, it’s not worth it. We won’t be back. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Large portions in a small space. Community atmosphere with friendly people. Food has lots of oil in it and the place stinks of cooking oil most of the time. Slow to get seated, slow to take orders, slow to get food and slow to get ticket. I feel like if this place was larger and had better service, I would go back.

Don’t you just love it when you see a hole in the wall place with 5 Star reviews and then there’s that ONE guy(or gal). They write a scathing 1 Star review and spew out short bullet points of how atrocious a place is with zero evidence to back it up. And then you notice they don’t have a valid profile pic, zero«friends» and zero pics and you know what comes next… one measly review and it’s for that place with really great reviews. It’s obviously the COMPETITION who’s trying to bring them down. Why do people play this game that any person with common sense can see right through? That being said, trust the other patrons who’ve stumbled upon Jerry’s or those regulars who stay longer than they’re welcome… but only by those of us waiting on that prime table that they’ve been sitting at for 2+ hours shooting the bull and people watching! Jerry’s had a wait on Saturday morning around 10:30 am but nothing crazy. We sat outside for about 25 minutes and the owner came out at least twice to check on us, offer us drinks while waiting and to make sure we’d be seated as soon as he could. You put your own name down on a notepad inside because there is no «hostess» and the place is small so they really don’t need one. Holy guacamole! Mexican omelet or corned beef hash and hash browns? Gyro sandwich special or shrimp and crab omelet? The choices are many! And it all looks good! There is no kids menu. Bummer for us with kids. However most everything on the menu is indeed«kid friendly» it’s just going to be in the adult serving… too much for a kid. We settled on the Big BLT, corned beef hash with eggs and hash browns, big meat omelet, shrimp and crab omelet, ham and eggs, and Philly cheesesteak special. Not a single critique around the table! The service is friendly. The place is busy(always a good sign!) and the food hit the spot. Head over to Jerry’s and see for yourself!

Bacon was amaxing. Good eggs. Hash browns lacked flavor. Lots of food. Good little dive. I will eat here again. Busy for lunch, be prepared to wait. Food was hot and fresh

Solid, very tasty breakfast items. Service has been generally good with an occasional grumpy waitress every now and again. Most items are huge and could easily be split. You can always get your own meals and have plenty to take home as well. I have never experienced much of a wait, but the place is small, and I try to avoid going during«peak times» to avoid the mentioned wait times.

Best breakfast place… It’s become a Sunday treat with my family after church. I give 4 stars because there can be a wait due to the place being so small. But the french toast is by far the best french toast I have ever had…

Best breakfast place ever!!! I had the big Alex and it was amazing. I wish they had a place like this back home. The owner was our server and he was the nicest person we’ve ever met. Defiantly would recommend this to anyone and everyone I talk to.

Terrible service. Stinks inside. Visibly dirty. Takeout containers were deeply sticky. Food was undercooked. «Hash browns» are closer to noodles made of nearly raw potatoes, lightly scorched. 0⁄10 would not hangover again. Edited to add: found a moldy strawberry.

We were excited to try a new breakfast place and I saw many reviews on the«Big John». The. gravy and sausage were both bland and the hash browns were soaked in grease. If I hadn’t covered it in hot sauce not sure if it would’ve been worth eating. My wife got the Italian sausage omelette which was ok but her hash browns were also greasy in the middle. Service was good but it took forever to get our food. We also didn’t get an order of toast we ordered which they did remove from our receipt. Not sure we’ll be going back.

Sad to hear Jerry retired the end of June:(Food is still good — surprised the bun for the burger wasn’t buttered & grilled though. Patty melts were very good and fries are fresh cut.

After Jerry sold his place and now there is a new cook and owner, I am happy that the menu is the same as well as the food. Nick is the owner and he stressed that he was doing everything to keep it the same.

This is a great little breakfast joint. It is sometimes a wait to get a seat but it is well worth it. My favorite part is the guessing game you play when you order coffee. What kind of coffee cup are you going to get? It adds to the café’s uniqueness! All the coffee cups are different and remind me of my grandmas house. The food is home cooked and floods you with memories of Sunday breakfast at home. I haven’t had a bad meal yet… With my favorite being the bacon and eggs(extra crispy style). This place is easy on the pocketbook and a great find for a Saturday morning coffee and meal.

Fits the term«hole in the wall Diner» to a tee! We like to go here on Saturday mornings for breakfast. We can always expect a minimum of twenty minute wait. Once seated, staff is nice and it is a fun experience. Sometimes I want to say«Hold the butter!» but it wouldn’t be Jerry’s without it. It is not really vegetarian friendly. I find myself getting the veggie omelet every time though. You have to try the Frisbee pancake! It is delicious and enough for two people to share.

Oh boy, Jerry’s is going to make life on a diet very difficult. This reincarnation of Jerry’s Woodsweather Café down in City Market shines in a cramped space in Watts Mill shopping center next to Jaspers on 103rd Street. Our first visit here won’t be our last. Italian sausage and eggs was a treat and the crispy hash browns were sliced thin enough to melt in your mouth. Throw in a cinnamon roll to go and you have a downright decadent breakfast for about the same cost as other places for a heckuva lot more food. I agree with other reviewers about the space — it’s teeny tiny inside and you might find yourself waiting for a table for a little while. Slow paced regulars sipping on coffee and telling fish stories for two hours don’t help the table turnover rate either. It’s worth it, however, to get a plate of comfort food at a reasonable price in this little gem.
