What a pleasant surprise ! Passing thru the city on road trip, late 9pm, staying at the Candlewood suites… another pleasant surprise, and decided to order delivery as not to have to get back in car after 16 hrs on the road and was the only Chinese takeout menu the hotel had! Well man am I glad it was… I’m 63 yr old female and have eaten a lot… a lot of Chinese, Asian, Thai so I wasn’t really expecting to much… for not to be disappointed, eat and go to bed kinda thing! OMG this food rocked! My husband had the shrimp and lobster sauce with fried rice that was so fresh he couldn’t believe we hadn’t cooked it ourselves! Beautiful presentation, hot and reasonable priced! I had the BEST pepper steak and onions I have EVER had! The meat was so tender I could eat even if I had no teeth! The peppers and onions were extremely fresh, and crispy. In a fabulous tasty sauce! The egg drop soup was perfect as was the won ton… and the bonus they Gave us was these delicious donuts, and fresh fresh, fresh! Every thing was hot, plenty of condiments packed and I am so impressed I had to write a review! Will not disappoint by any means. Thank you for making our ever so long day trip end in a delightful dinner! Will definitely eat here again on our way thru!

We ordered take-out shrimp fried rice, chicken friend rice, dim sum(dumplings), and egg roll Portions were HUGE. Shrimps were HUGE, dumplings were perfect, egg roll was fine. Will split an order next time. Prices were reasonable for what you got. Food was ready when they said it would be.

Everyone talks great about this place but i no longer go cause I feel the staff has a serious attitude problem. They seem to literally boss people around and people let them do it lol!

My credit card was reported with fraudulent activity on it immediately after using it here. They asked for the number on the phone and then the 3 on the back. The food is great, but pay cash!!!

Pretty decent Chinese food with good service and a lot of options. The place is surprisingly very clean compared to what you would think from the outside. The buffet are is a lot larger than what I expect and better than what I read from reviews. The actual buffet stands look pretty recently updated/completely renovated with three double sided rows. The staff was really nice and created me when I entered. They were very nice about me placing a carry out order. The prices are pretty competitive. There were a decent amount of people eating here for being off lunch hours too so that was encouraging. I ordered the orange beef after reading a few reviews on here because I find it hard to find orange beef and usually if a place offers it, it is a pretty good dish. The beef was nice and tender. I took it back to work which was pretty far away and it held up pretty well(a bit soggy front the steam but that is pretty normal for carry out). The flavor was a nice mix of spicy and sweet. It was a bit spicier than some places would make for a standard heat(unspecified) but it was nice. I worked in a highly rated Chinese food restaurant(not in KC) for several years, so I might be a bit more prone to judge harshly but so far on the first trip here I don’t have complaints.

Fast and friendly delivery to my Downtown Kansas City loft. Great food. Said it would take 45 – 55 minutes to be delivered but it arrived in only 25 and was very hot and tasty. We had the veggie lo-main, moo goo gai pan(spelling, sorry), egg drop soup and crab rangoons. We would recommend to friends will definitely try again.

This was an absolutely amazing place for dinner, the first time we came here. Then the second time was a disaster. We were completely ignored and the food was too spicy to eat. And I’m not a whiny spicy person either, this was what you should get when you order extra spicy specifically. I had to get up and refill our own drinks and crackers for soup while the staff sat there playing on their phones. So sad to have had a decent experience and then get so disappointed when going back.

Service is always very consistent at this location. This location serves what would be considered as Asian American food. Its pretty good and I have never had a late order. They are affordably priced and definitely worth giving a shot.

To all the foodies and critics out there, I have to preface that this is restaurant that doesn’t necessarily serve AUTHENTIC Chinese food(although there are a few like twice cooked pork that were okay but at least authentic), where they shine is Asian American food. Now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you… my go for Asian American food is theirs. During those hours, it’s less than $ 6 a meal which is enough for lunch AND dinner. Not a bad price. I usually get their General Tso’s or Sesame Chicken and the sauce is your typical sweet salty velvety texture over fried chicken pieces. Delicious and hits the spot. My friends have gotten the Triple Delight before which is less glorious, definitely less portions compared to the chicken items, but still tasty. If you want a truly authentic variety of things like salt/pepper chicken, a great steamed ginger fish, dong po pork belly, etc. then I’d go with ABC Café down south.

Word on my street was that there was no good Chinese food in Kansas City — as in zip, zero, zlich. But when it’s Easter Sunday and you can’t find anything nearby that’s open to save your life… Chinese it is! I actually didn’t find it as terrible as I expected I would from people’s comments. Service was quick, prices were competitive and the dish was good. Crispy chicken pieces, decent sauce though not amazing. Would Lucky Dragon be my go to Chinese spot? Nuh uh. Nor would I go out of my way for it. But if I’m in the area and have a feening, no issues with hitting them up.

So today is the day that I say good bye to Lucky Dragon. I work downtown, and it is a known fact that this place pretty much owns the market of Chinese Delivery in the downtown area. So much that myself and fellow co-workers have been willing to overlook less than acceptable behavior to satisfy our cravings for chinese food; you know the usual, egg shells every once in a while in the fried rice, or the delivery driver bringing the wrong food and coming back to get it because he needed to deliver it to the right people, ya know normal stuff, LOL! Well today we had enough. Since we have learned from experience that you never know how long it’s going to take to get your food with this place, We ordered our food an hour before our lunch break. An hour had came and passed and still no food, so I call. The guy that answered was extremely rude! He quickly got defensive and when questioned said, «well, it may take two hours!» He also quickly offered to have delivery driver turn around and refund our money! I said that we just want our food! then another 30 minutes goes by and sill no food. My co-worker calls again and was much nicer than I was, but he pulls the same junk with her! He also gives the excuse that it’s very cold outside and yelling that we want his driver to get a speeding ticket! At this point, our lunch break was over, so we cancelled our order and made sure they knew we would NOT be back! Thinking back, I doubt they had even started our order; This place is just over the bridge! Yes, all that should have sent us away long ago, but like I said, this place is like the chinese mafia of Chinese delivery in the area, this is their turf! Which is probably why they did not care much that they lost our company’s business, they don’t need us… for now! but they continue treating people like this and someone is going call the health department on them… doubt they would survive any kind of inspection, LOL!

I would describe this restaurant as more Cantonese than Chinese, but delicious none-the-less. The man and I really enjoy ordering delivery from this place, although the lunch buffet is always fresh and hot! Orange beef is one of our favorites, but we’ve tried at least a dozen of the menu items and have never been disappointed.

The only complaint I have about this place is that it’s small and not a lot of options on the buffet. My favorite things from a Chinese buffet are the green beans, crab rangoon, and orange chicken. The crab rangoon were amazing. I know it’s weird, but I base a large portion of how I like a Chinese restaurant on their crab rangoon, and Lucky Dragon passed with flying colors. The other items, they didn’t have. But, I particularly liked the General Tsos. There were several items that I didn’t touch, but the ones I did(the jalapeño chicken, bananas, pineapple, fried rice, general tsos, crab rangoon, etc) were all good. Prices were great and the staff was nice. Just wish it had a few more options!

Ordered general tso $ the app I believe is called happy family. It came with a crab Rangoon, piece of fried chicken, shrimp, and chicken on a stick. Threw up n bad stomach ache all night. I won’t be ordering again it tasted okay but I wouldn’t pay another 20 $ for a stomach ache n sleepless night

This is my guilty pleasure! It’s cheap and fast and close! I get the sweet and sour shrimp or pork and I must say, it is fantastic!

Great buffet! I don’t eat sugar, and it’s really hard to find Chinese that’s not syrupy sweet. You can find options here that wouldn’t be classified as «candied meat». The hot and sour soup is excellent.

Lucky Dragon is my go-to Chinese place in KC. I’ve tried Bo Ling’s and find it overly sweet and inauthentic. I’ve tried Red Dragon and it’s decent and cheap, but not great. Lucky Dragon is yummy. I have to admit, I’ve never visited the actual restaurant. Lucky for me, Lucky Dragon delivers to Crossroads. The driver quality varies, frequently they don’t even get out of the car. Still worth it. The dishes use fresh, real vegetables. The tofu is fried well. The sauces are not Americanized with massive amounts of sugar. The crab rangoon are tasty. Every order over a certain dollar amount gets you a container of Chinese donuts as well. What more could you ask for?

I’ve been really wanting to try this place and had heard it was good. Maybe I set my expectations too high or maybe I ordered wrong, but I wasn’t impressed. I ordered crab rangoon and mongolian beef. Several other people there ordered mongolian beef, but I just didn’t like it at all. It was really sweet tasting and I would have never guessed it was mongolian sauce, it was more like General Tso sauce on beef or with onions. It was edible, but just not thrilling.

Lucky Dragon serves super Americanized Chinese food, but if that’s what you’re expecting, it’s quite tasty. I never go out of my way to eat from here, but they’re one of the few restaurants that delivers to the River Market, so when I’m feeling slothful, they get my business. When it comes to delivery Chinese, I am very much a creature of habit. I typically order shrimp lo mein, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls and crab rangoon. Honestly, I would put all of these items in the«above average» column, when compared to other delivery. The crab rangoon and the beef and broccoli are both particularly tasty! The people on the phone are always friendly, and the food is fast. If you want Chinese food brought directly to your door, I don’t know what else you could ask for!
