So miss being able to eat here for lunch. Worked in KCK for a few years and would have the lunch special(fried white fish + fries + bread + hot sauce + drink) for $ 5.50-$ 6. The fish is great, fries are okay, the bread is white wonder, and the hot sauce seems like a Frank’s variety. But the point is that the fish is real, good, and cooked to order. It certainly blows LJS out of the water for sure.

i had always heard of this place, but only went there once when I was a kid. recently I decided to stop in and get some catfish. I love their catfish. it is seasoned so good. I didn’t like the sides that came with the meal… I am not a fan of potato salad or coleslaw so i was disappointed that if I wanted to substitute another side it would cost me more money… that being said… I love the fact that if I want to buy fish to take home, I can do so… the prices are alitte high, but not so bad that I won’t come back…

The best fish in KC. My mother used to take my sister and I there when we were growing up. Hasn’t changed all that much, but that’s a good thing. The prices are reasonable and I love the portions they give you. Their motto is «Don’t Cook Tonight» meaning just stop on by and pick up some cooked fish. Though you have the option of purchasing fresh fish.

I have come to this establishment ever since I was little and it never disappoints! Everyone in there is super friendly and humorous. I always have a good time coming in. It’s welcoming and comfortable(besides being in a sketchy part of town). I have always eaten the catfish nuggets that comes with a slice of bread and their hot sauce. It is all delicious and I usually go all out by eating the full pound. Fat kid, I know. The seasoning is amazing and I am convinced that this food is made with love. I do wish that it was bigger and that it wasn’t in such a bad neighborhood. Even with that being said, I will still continue to come here. The prices are great and the service is great. Plus you get food that will satisfy you and keep you coming back for more. Can’t beat that.

Don’t listen to the golden-spoon fed uppity reviewers giving bad reviews: this place has amazing food for an amazing price! This place is not by any means in the plaza but if you can keep your prejudice and judgments to yourself for the 5 minutes it would take you to order, you will not be disappointed. This is a small non-franchise local establishment so come with an open mind, and respectful attitude, and you will be treated in kind. P. S. Amex owners should be aware of the fact that their cards are not accepted everywhere. In fact, small businesses like this accepting cards at all is a rarity.

Great fish shack! Reasonably priced, but food is cooked to order so it’s better to call ahead. Also try to avoid popping in during lunch time this is a local favorite very crowded during lunch. A terrible parking lot oddly shaped. I had the po’boy sandwich, a little high for me @4.49,but I ‘m cheap, but really good.

a classic hole in the wall fish house in urban kansas city, kansas. THEBESTFISHINTHEWORLD. I’m an avid traveler as well as an avid seafood indulger — -this place has the best food in the world. the service is great. the workers are friendly. it looks dirty inside and out; but the food is worth going for. they sale cooked fish as well as a variety of fresh fish, too. i’ve never been disappointed. i would recommend getting the food to go though. the place is smoky and small. the parking is scarce.
