This is truly a gem– a Fantastic pizza at a great price. It rivals so much of the other pizza in this area. In fact, it is some of my favorite pizza in any area. It surprises me that there are not a whole slew of these around the city. Awesome pizza.

I’m SOOOOO glad I found this place for lunch while I was working in the area! Went in because of Subway and ended up leaving with something entirely different and WAYYYYYY better in my opinion! two of the largest slices of pizza I’ve ever had plus a soda for less than $ 6??? I think YES is the answer… and I asked to have the slices cut in half, which made 4 still very generous slices and I took 2 of the other slices to my room for later… I also had stromboli and it was everything I dreamed it to be. If you’re looking for a VALUE and craving authentic REAL food, then THIS is the place to go to in down town KC, KS.

I don’t know what happened to the little white-haired old Italian guy who used to run this place. I guess he retired or sold the business. Pity, he was quite a character. Still, Nick’s continues to feature their large stromboli for $ 4, and the lunch special is still two MASSIVE slices and a drink for $ 6. I’m honestly not sure how they can stay in business giving food away like that. That said, the food is not going to win any awards. Maybe a Greasiest Stromboli Ever award. But it’s so amazingly deliciously awful. Yes, I’m pretty sure those are canned mushrooms, and the Italian sausage came in the form of frozen pellets. I can get past this, personally. It’s actually kind of charming, somehow. So, if you happen to be in downtown KCK for lunch and don’t feel like tacos, you could do worse than going to Nick’s for a cheap ass stromboli. They accept credit cards now, too.

Located in downtown KC, Nick’s Italian Pizza is probably the only Italian option out there. But it is great. It is in a commons area across the hall from subway. No one really goes there when Nick’s is the other option :). It is CASHONLY and for 5 bucks you can get two slices(of any kind) and a drink! What a deal considering their slices are huge! Two slices is plenty. They also have other choices like calzones, lasagna, etc. I go for the pizza! Parking is on the street and downtown KC, parking is always a bit difficult but definitely worth it.
