Planned Parenthood Patty Brous Health Center

As I’ve been to a few different Planned Parenthoods, I was quite unimpressed with this location.
I was directed to this location because they are one of the only locations in the area that can supply me with my brand of birth control.
As I was a new patient, I had to make an appointment. That’s where it started badly, they scheduled me for a week after my call date, then called to cancel and reschedule, then they rescheduled me for 2 weeks after my previously scheduled date.
On the day of my appointment, I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork. I then proceeded to wait an hour and a half to be called up. THEN proceeded to wait 45 minutes in the backroom waiting for a doctor.
Lastly, after my counsel was finished I waited 20 more minutes to be checked out, and only that 20 minutes because I got up and insisted that I needed to leave.
Now, one might think they were busy and this is the reason for the delay. There were a maximum of 5 women in the waiting room — all of whom were there the whole time I was.
The only redeeming quality about this location was most of the employees were friendly and helpful, but I recently returned for a refill and the one woman there did not even make eye contact with me and was very cold and short-​tempered.
I am giving them 2 stars for those nice women I encountered on my first visit and giving them the benefit of the doubt (I was told on my first visit they were transitioning to an all tech filing system), and because it is a Planned Parenthood I can get my birth control for a fantastic price, but if I could go elsewhere — I would.

I love this planned parenthood. I’ve been going to planned parenthood to get my depo shot for about 3 years now and this location is one of the best. All the nurses and practitioners are very nice and when I moved here from out of state they were really helpful in making sure I had everything I needed. The last 2 times I’ve been to this location, I’ve been in and out in about 20 minutes. That is unheard of at most planned parenthood locations or at any doctors office. As long as I can I will go to this location and make my usual donation, because these nurses deserve it!

I came here to get my annual pelvic exam and some toothless idiot with two brain cells left (duking it out for dominance in a meth-​fueled haze) is shouting at me: «Don’t kill your baby!»
I’m not pregnant, nor have I ever been.
I am here, and continue to come here because I don’t want to wake up with cervical cancer: There is no alternative. College insurance doesn’t cover anything more than totally catastrophic care– like being hit by bus.
Hence why I am at a Planned Parenthood. Because the service if offered nowhere else for someone like me (college student) and for very little, I can be certain of my bodily health, if I can get past this brainless wonder.
I shout back «I’m here for a pap smear! Can’t you do something USEFUL like fix women’s health care?»
«Don’t kill your baby!» She screams. Again.
This story is four years old, and I’m sure, reccuring across the world, with much more traumatic results.
And that my friends, is why there will never be Affordable, Universal National Health Care. Because people would rather the common female citizen die of painful, preventable, treatable cancer for the sake of imaginary babies than allow them reproductive health. Preferably while praying.
What «right to life» is that?
