I made an appt with Shaina after a string of bad highlight jobs with various stylist in the city. She blew me away with how patient and meticulous she was with her highlight — I’ve honestly never seen that many foils in my hair. When you run through my hair dry, it’s like tiny strands highlighted all the way to the root — I’m beyond impressed. I mean, it’s just so refreshing to have a stylist that isn’t lazy. While she did over-​tone my hair at the end, I’ve had my hair done enough to know that it was a necessary evil to counteract the brassy tones — I’ll just rock the silver hair for a few days :) Although the haircut was not complex, it’s freaking adorable and am just SO SO SO happy to have found an great stylist!

I just started coming here on a whim recently. I loved the ease of booking an appointment through Unilocal or their website. I see Shaina. In my opinion she is fantastic at cutting hair. I don’t get color but she does a fabulous cut. I sent my husband to get his hair cut by her and he was thrilled. She’s very talented.
The salon itself is a lovely space. The owner and the staff are very friendly. I like the products they carry. So far, I have liked every experience I’ve had. Give this salon a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Alexandria is the best! My hair was kind of a mess after visiting a different salon… Alex listened to what I had envisioned for myself and made it happen without much debate or worry on her part. This made me feel much more at ease as her client, especially after having experience such a terrible color job at the other salon. She collaborated with me on deciding what length and style cut would look best on me with my thick, kinky curly hair. I appreciate her honesty, rather than just doing something she knew I wouldn’t be happy with in the end.
She put in four hours of work (base color, highlights, lowlights, and cut) for an extremely reasonable price. And my hair has never felt or looked better! I will be back :) thanks again!

Beautifully swanky clean full service salon. Services offered cuts, dyes, waxing, eyelash extensions (coming soon), makeup and spray tans. Enjoyed a scalp/​hand massage while sipping on a mimosa.
Had highlights and layer done by Melyssa STUNNING. Already on the books for a airbrush tan, it’s a beautifully golden brown that’s slightly pink, LOVE it. Melyssa is my ideal stylist an easy going professional perfectionist. Asked me what I wanted and NAIL IT!
Davines and kevin murphy products used, organic and cruelty free stuff that works (smells fantastic). I’m a simple gal that rarely gets this stuff done and I fully appreciated the unpretentious welcoming atmosphere. They didn’t guilt me for doing my own cuts or dyes.

So the first cut Ive had since moving to KC was a fabulous one. Shayna was recommended by a friend. First off the interior is artistic retro vintage-​ish?! It gives off stylish/​clean atmosphere that allows you to feel relaxed and trendy-​ish at the same time. Don’t misinterpret vintage as old… Its a high quality salon.
Shayna was willing to listen to my stories of past bad haircuts and let me feel like I knew she knew that I knew that she knew that I was ready for good cut. She had the skills to cut my hair the way I wanted. Sometimes I may be mistaken for a lady from the back… A rather large lady. Regardless I am a man and want hair that is easy and manageable. She cut and did not take off more than I wanted… Checked in with me regarding length… Which was a major concern of mine with past hair cuts… Communication is KEY! Just because you think you know what they want… Please make sure throughout… Shayna did just that!

Super friendly and easy to talk to. NO pretentiousness and uppity attitude here. Down to earth yet very skilled. Its nice to sit back and enjoy a haircut. and NOT be stressed out sweating and worrying the entire time… YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!
As with most of these locally owned salons here in KC… They have free wine or beer. They have a great assortment of sugary snacks throughout the place. So if youre waiting or just want to nibble they got your #.
I know they offer spray tans as well… One girl came in for one and it took minutes… And to be honest she looked organically tanned. I was pleasantly surprised.
I definitely will be coming back again.

Doug is an excellent stylist. He listens and considers what kind of hair will work for you. Minus one star for the slightly steep price, $ 55 for a haircut plus tip.
