I wish I had a community center like this when I was young. But lucky me! I get to have it NOW! The facilities here are great. To use some of them you do have to have a membership, to keep the doors open, you know? The money deal. But there are a lot of free things and free services offered here. Also, local artist Julia Cole and her husband Lee Rosser collaborated on all of the artwork found in the community center. Many of the pieces are interactive and very memorable, definitely worth going to see, even if you don’t join the center. Southeast lies in the heart of Swope Park, which offers a wide variety of activities in its own! The staff here is very nice and helpful! Also, KCAI students have joined up with the Southeast Community Center to offer FREE art workshops to any one and everyone, taught by KCAI students. Check into it!
