This is the most run-down, ghetto Target I have ever seen. I felt like I was in an inner-ring /old-suburb walmart(which in my experience, is an abysmal experience). There are a few things… I’ll see if I can do bullet points. a) There is very lean inventory. I saw multiple aisles, end-caps, and display areas that had either no inventory or a very sparse smattering. b) There was a rent-a-cop by the door. I don’t know if this is normal in any other areas of the country, but here in KC this was the first time I saw a rent-a-cop at a Target. He seemed nice enough, but it just screams«hello, this is an unsafe environment that’s full of thieves.» c) Getting any kind of customer service takes FOREVER. I made an order online for pickup, which is supposed to be ready within 2 hours. I showed up at the store 2 hours after I made the order, only to be given the run-around and have to sit waiting for over an hour while someone in the back took their sweet time fulfilling my order. This is not normal. At other Targets where I’ve used store pickup, they had the order ready within 1 hour. Oh and one more thing… at this Target, the«customer service» person snidely said to me «It’s only x o’clock, that’s why it’s not ready yet.» I informed her that Target’s policy is to have pickup orders ready within 2 hours, as long as they are made before 7pm… and my order was in the early afternoon. d) When you enter the store, there is a door where you can go in for returns and any kind of customer service. The door leads to an area that is closed off and separate from the rest of store. In the hour-plus that I spent sitting there waiting for them to do their job, it became apparent to me why the store is set up this way. It’s in order to keep the many mistreated and disgruntled customers separate from the actual store, so that other customers can’t see/hear the scenes that are being made in there. e) Also regarding customer service, they offer no real solutions when you have a problem. They just look at you like you must be the one who is «mistaken» or you’re just stupid and misunderstanding something. I have worked in customer service, so I know how it is dealing with the public… but you can’t just have a snotty, superior attitude like it’s impossible that your huge corporation eff’d up. It happens. ALL. THE. TIME. Specifically, what happened in my case was that I had a gift card with almost $ 100 on it and was making a purchase of less than $ 50. The cashier said that I only had 43.99 and had to pay the rest. I asked her why that was the case and who I should talk to resolve the issue because I definitely had more money than that on my gift card. I even called the gift card phone number and let her listen as their answering system told her I have $ 93+ on my gift card. I understand that maybe she didn’t know what was going on or why it was showing incorrectly on her register, and that ISOKAY. But her attitude reeked of annoyance and suggested that I was being crazy or was somehow wrong. She should have tried to direct me to a solution or some way to rectify the situation. I paid the leftover amount of the purchase with my debit card, and that wasn’t a big deal… but being told I had $ 50 less for no apparent reason wasn’t okay. For the record, I called the gift card line again when I got in my car and went through the options to talk to an actual person. He couldn’t tell me why her register would be showing that I didn’t have the full amount, and suggested that it was a problem within that particular store.(Oh, surprise surprise…) — — — If I thought hard enough, I’m sure I could think of lots of other critiques about this store, but I’m tired of typing this. I’ll just say in closing that I have come to expect certain things of Target stores, and this one misses the mark in just about every way possible. Honestly, if you’re going to this store… you might as well just go to walmart… because it’s pretty much the same. I sincerely think that this store should either be closed or have a massive overhaul in management. It should probably just be closed though. And hey since I already wrote this, I think I’ll just shoot Target an email saying so…

Clean, well lit, well organized, attentive staff and you will find a bit of everything. From sports equipment to home décor, arts & crafts, clothing, baby stuff, electronics and snacks. It is not humongous, and I’ve never seen it packed. Busy, yes, packed to the point of wanting to swim in between the crowds of people, no. Which I like. They have a pretty descent selection on everything, I would like them to have a bit of a wider selection in women’s clothing, as some of the things I see on line I would like to try before I buy(we all know a piece of clothing looks great in the picture but on you… eh, not so much!) but their clothing department is a bit limited. If you want to to on a wardrobe shopping adventure, go to the other bigger targets down south kc I guess. For everything else though, it is perfect. Their pharmacy department is helpful, quick, and while they get your prescriptions you can get all of your other shopping done, they have a lot of sale items nicely and neatly organized in each department so you can still enjoy even bigger savings without having to fish and organize things in a mess left by previous shoppers. Happy shopping!

This is not the best Target out there, but it does offer some things I enjoy. It isn’t a Super Target so it is not those huge Target stores I’ve become accustomed to, because of this this Target is not anywhere near as busy as a lot of the other Targets. You can usually find clothes, shoes, etc in your size before it has been pillaged through. Super Targets that stuff goes super quick! This Target also is the closest one to my home and work. I do use it for the pharmacy as well. The pharmacy staff are all really friendly and Jesse is always super helpful! If you aren’t looking to grocery shop and need some quick items this Target does the trick.

Ok for a non-super Target. But watch your handbag! In 2003 I was here with my husband & our 2 girls, the younger one 2 months and the oldest about 17 months. We used a backpack for a diaper bag back then. I took my toddler to look at toys and left the baby(and diaper bag) in husband’s care. He was checking out the tvs. Later when we were loading the car I asked him where the diaper bag was. We couldn’t find it. Yep, someone freaking stole it right out of the cart(the baby was in her carseat, in the cart — so it wasn’t left unattended). Upon calling the cellphone company it appeared that my phone was used immediately. Luckily they got a phone but no wallet as those were secured elsewhere. But it still sucked. We tried to get help from Target’s «security» so we could at least figure out what happened, what the person looked like and how long we were watched before being robbed. Target refused to review their security tapes, which was crap. None of my calls were returned and they were complete jerks about it. Keep your expectations in check when visiting this place, and you won’t be disappointed.

I went into this Target location on 8−10−09. There was a situation happening with my ill grandmother(long story). Mike the On Duty Manager was very patient and helpful with the situation. I appreciated all his help and understanding. I will definitely return to this location again while visiting Kansas City. Customer service is an A+
