Amazing breakfast with great atmosphere! The portions are large and the staff is very attentive. It gets crowded after 9 so get there early. If the weather is nice you can sit outside and eat. We will be back!

Really really good breakfast and really good service. Big crowds on the weekend is the only compliant, but that is understandable.

This place had delicious food that was served extremely quick. I recommend getting the sticky bun it’s heavenly. There is a wait when you get there though especially on the weekend but you don’t have to wait long for service or your food.

My husband and I were in town from Colorado visiting family for the holidays, and decided that we were tired of hotel breakfast and wanted something better. I searched Unilocal for something in the area that looked good but wasn’t a chain, and came across The Big Biscuit. The reviews and the menu looked promising, so we decided to give it a go. When we arrived, the dining area was full and there were a lot of people waiting, which seemed like a good sign. Unfortunately, the busy dining room didn’t prove to be a good judge of this place. The best part of our experience was the service. Our waiter was very friendly, very quick, and very attentive. We could not have been happier with the service. 5 stars all around for the staff of The Big Biscuit. When it comes to the food, it’s really no better than what you get at your average Village Inn, if not worse. My husband loves biscuits and gravy, and the menu touted that theirs was award winning, so he went with that. I’m not sure what the award was, or who awarded it, but I can guarantee that it was not award worthy in any sense of the term. The biscuit tasted like it had come out of a can, and the gravy had zero flavor, as if they had just mixed that powdered stuff with some milk and called it good. It also claimed to be sausage gravy, but sausage was pretty non existent. His hash browns were crispy, but nothing special. He did enjoy the sausage patties that he ordered on the side, so at least there’s that. I ordered the Belgian waffle and a side of bacon, and both were pretty awful. The waffle was only crisp along the very outside, with the rest of it being extremely chewy and hard to cut through. The bacon was limp and greasy, and nothing extraordinary by any means. Overall, we were really disappointed in this place. It looked so promising but ended up being a total dud, other than the outstanding service we received. Again, 5 stars for service, 1 star for food.

We beat the crowd this morning and were able to be seated immediately. I got the lean and green, which was perfectly seasoned. It was an egg white scramble with spinach, mushroom, and turkey. It was served with fresh fruit, which consisted of strawberries, bananas, and grapes! No melons!!! I hate melons, so it was a definite win for me. My boyfriend had the big breakfast, which came with potatoes. 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, and biscuit with gravy or pancakes. Yum! Biscuit and gravy was good but nothing out of the ordinary. It’s hard to mess up such a simple dish. The orange juice was definitely from a bottle, but it’s hard to find fresh orange juice around here. Prices were typical of breakfast places.

Positives, nice comfortable feeling restaurant. Bacon good Hash browns good Pancakes good Biscuits good Negatives staff was ok, service was a bit inadequate(took the order, filled drink once, gave check — the bare minimum) ‘Award winning’ gravy was ok — better than most restaurants but I could do better at home. I know they are making in mass quantity but you could add a little flavor and meat Caution the fake wood floor is slippery!

Food was good but be weary of HUSTLINGWAITRESS. Bill was 39.64 gave waitress to 20’s and a 10 so I could have change for tip. She took the money and left telling us to have a good day. Kept waiting for her to come back out of the back room and eventually had to ask for her. She came back asking what we needed, I said my change. Then she played dumb and said; oh I forgot… She brings me a 5 and five 1s then proceeds to say my change was only 9 and some change and I can just leave her a tip out of the money. REALLY! I asked for my receipt and she comes back out and says I think this is it, yep 39.64. I was going to leave her the .36 since she already pocketed it, by my husband had me leave a 1.00. My friend who was with us said you can clearly tell she has played this hustle before! IF I ever eat there again, I will only leave exact change.

We went in for brunch and wished we’d gone elsewhere. I waited forever on a drink refill and that was the only time we saw the waitress until she brought the bill. Forget the chicken wrap-ONE small piece of chicken in the entire half of the wrap. Ridiculous!

It is always busy on the weekend so be prepared. But the food is great. We haven’t had anything we didn’t like, although we’ve only had breakfast. I would give it five stars if not for the wait.

It is really hard to screw up breakfast. That being said this is probably the best biscuit I have ever had. The rest of the food was average, but the biscuit made the meal so go for that. I agree with others, the service and set up for being seated left a little to be desired and there is a guy hovering around almost staring you down so he can clear your dishes and bus your table. I found it a little uncomfortable, but they are turning over tables and moving people through so that is a plus. Will go again and I will always get a meal with a biscuit! Had the country Benedict. Ate it all! LOL Want to try the cinnamon roll pancake!

Let me start off with saying that I have high expectations when it comes to customer service, but it takes a LOT for me to complain. A coworker and I went on our hour lunch and chose the Big Biscuit because I was craving their chicken quesadillas. The food is usually pretty good but the service is always lacking. Today was the worst service by far. Today there were approximately ten tables while we were there and approximately 8 – 10 dining area workers that we saw at various times, although never more than one or two in the dining area at any one time, they were all typically hanging out chatting in the kitchen. The waitress asked if we were going to be on one ticket or separate and we let her know separate checks. She took our order and wrote down that my coworker didn’t want powdered sugar on her french toast and wanted a side of bacon and that I didn’t want salsa but an extra sour cream for my quesadilla. Our food was brought out by two of the other workers(with powdered sugar on the french toast, scrambled eggs that weren’t ordered along with the side of bacon, and the salsa but no extra sour cream) — not sure if this was the kitchen’s fault or the waitress. We let the servers know and they took away the french toast to get new, but said they’d leave the eggs, took the salsa and brought me the extra sour cream. Also, the quesadilla comes with a side(that I forgot to specify I wanted the side salad) so I received french fries. The french fries tasted like they hadn’t been cooked long enough but the quesadilla is always more than enough food for me so I was fine, although slightly irritated that the waitress hadn’t asked about what side I wanted since every other time we’ve been there they have. About halfway through my meal I ran out of Diet Pepsi and my coworker ran out of iced tea. It had been quite some time since we’d even seen our waitress but there were a couple workers up by the counter chatting with some customers that seemed like regulars. They’d look over at us occasionally and I’d rudely slurp my drink thinking that someone would offer us refills. They didn’t. Finally, our waitress went to the table behind us and when she was done with them she started walking past us back to the kitchen without saying anything so my coworker had to flag her down. She came over and immediately started saying that she put in my coworker’s order as the combo because that was slightly cheaper than ordering the french toast and bacon separately. That would’ve been nice to know before the food was brought out so my coworker could’ve ordered the eggs the way she wanted them instead of the waitress just assuming she wanted scrambled. My coworker said«Ok, thanks. We’d like some refills please.» The waitress said she’d get the iced tea and walked off as I was saying I needed another Diet Pepsi also. The regulars at the counter started talking to her as she headed for the kitchen so she stopped and talked with them for a couple minutes before she went to the back. A couple minutes after that, one of the other girls working brought over the pitcher of iced tea and went to pour it in my glass. I let her know that I didn’t have iced tea but I needed another Diet Pepsi. She filled my coworker’s glass and then brought back my pop. Not long after this I needed another napkin because one just isn’t enough for me, I tend to be a messy eater. Again, no workers were around so I had to take one of the silverware off of a nearby table and use that napkin. At no point did anyone ask us if everything was ok or check in with us. When we were finished eating we sat for a few minutes before I had to ask one of the girls standing at the counter to get our checks. The waitress came back out and handed me one check with everything on it. I gave it back to her and said it’s supposed to be separate checks. She brought out the checks separated after another couple minutes. As we were walking out a gentleman appeared at the counter and told us to have a nice day. My coworker had seen him a couple times and thought he was a manager but I thought he was just another customer because he never said anything to anyone while he was walking around. I stopped and asked if he was a manager and he said he was. I briefly let him know what a horrible experience we’d had and he told me he couldn’t fix anything he didn’t know about and said he’d «dig into» what happened but really didn’t seem too concerned with having two customers walk out the door unhappy. My husband called to complain that nothing was done and was told they’d have 2 free meal coupons for us at the front. Too little too late for me, I will not be returning to the Barry Road location.

Move over IHOP. I found myself a new breakfast place! I’ve passed by this and several other locations of Big Biscuit for a while now. I had the day off, so my wife and I paid our nearby location a visit. Delicious! My meal, top to bottom, was perfect. I ordered Jim’s Platter, which was a biscuit smothered in gravy, 2 eggs, and a potato side, I chose hashbrowns. I also added a side of bacon. My wife got the Eggs Benedict. The hashbrowns were some of the best I’d ever had. The bacon was perfectly crispy. The biscuit and gravy was wonderful and filling. The eggs were solid. Great meal. My wife had a couple of complaints about her Eggs Benedict. She wished for more hollandaise sauce, which she probably could have gotten if she had asked. And her poached eggs were over, bordering on hard boiled. She expected a runny yolk and got a yolk that would have been over if you were asking for soft boiled. However, she ate it up without any complaint to restaurant. Still, it was an excellent experience and we will be back. The only drawback of this place vs IHOP is that IHOP is open 24⁄7 while Big Biscuit is only open for breakfast and lunch. Great place to go if it’s open. Check it out!

You see, breakfast is my favorite meal. I can eat it for every meal of the day and be perfectly happy. The Big Biscuit offers a rather large menu with nearly every breakfast option you can think of. My absolute favorite meal is their biscuits and gravy with potatoes. Should we be surprised?! A close second would be the chicken fried steak and eggs. It’s crispy but not an overly dense, greasy kinda«crispy» if you catch my drift. If you have more of a sweet tooth, they have a lot of combinations for pancakes, French toast, and Belgian waffles. Honestly I don’t know how you could ever choose just one! Food is consistently good as is their service. Never a bad time!

Looks like the word on the BIG Biscuit is out… been here several times and today was by far the most crowded I’ve ever seen it… for good reason… Ever Saturday after basketball, we hit a local breakfast joint, today we had 4 hungry guys ready to eat… I won’t go into the other’s meals, but I ordered the corned beef hash, with scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, and wheat toast. Surprisingly, our 4 meals came out in 10 minutes, with the place packed. The kitchen was running on all cylinders, as we’ve had substantial waits on food in the past. The corned beef hash was well cooked, flavorful, and portioned correctly. I like the breakfast potatoes, which are chunks of potatoes deep fried, because their hash browns tend to be overly greasy, and not to my liking. Add in a good cup of coffee, and I walked out a happy man. Overall good experience, and based on the 30min wait, the biscuit is looking at a BIG future in the northland. Also, it’s a nice touch that they have TV’s placed around the restaurant, never any sound, but if you like being up to date on happenings, or espn, it’s a nice touch…

Pretty much enjoy the Big B at least twice a month for breakfast. Usually get the corned beef and eggs. So… the corned beef is from the can variety but I’m cool with that. Totally reminds me of my childhood. :) Waffles are fluffy and good too. Can be a bit overpriced, hence why it’s only about twice a month to go here. Weekend wait times are atrocious in the AM so I usually go with a friend during the week, early morning to avoid that crush of people. Waitresses are typically nice and friendly. Don’t recall ever having a «bad» one yet! Booths are huge and can fit 6 people with room to spare. If you’re in the mood for a lot of food… head on over to the Big B!

Just like Corner Café, the wait on the weekends can be upwards of 20 minutes. You’ll find your normal biscuits and gravy(highly recommend), corned beef hash and omelette offerings. Fair prices and decent service.

I accidentally found this place on my way out of town. Unilocal reviewers gave it an okay ratting, so I thought ‘why not.’ Breakfast sounded good and then I saw a picture of the cinnamon roll pancake and I was in — who wouldn’t be. I don’t think that I normally give out 5 stars but I have absolutely nothing to complain about except the portion being so big that I couldn’t eat it all and I felt guilty and sad. The service was wonderful — they were really attentive, the food was amazing and the price was just right. I will look forward to getting back to this place and probably spend time trying to replicate those cinnamon role pancakes, lol.
