This is a cute, little breakfast place where the food is good. However, the service is a little slow and there is nowhere to wait other than the parking lot or mixed in among the tables. I would go back for another casual breakfast outing.

Just happened up on The Mixing Bowl Noshery. Great little place. Waitress was excellent and knowledgeable. We ordered breakfast items. I ordered the 222 breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 pieces of meat, 2 pieces of toast and hash browns. I added a flapjack, the was the best flapjack I have ever had. So fluffy and light. My one of my boys ordered Andy’s Heaven on a plate. A sausage, egg biscuit covered with sausage gravy and hash browns. The other one ordered from the kids menu, 2 kid sizes flapjacks and sausage. I will definitely be back when in the area and would highly recommend. They also serve lunch.

First time there. Service was really slow and it was really hot inside. The cinnamon roll looked really good but was dry on the inside. He ordered eggs Benedict, eggs were overhard. I ordered Andys heavenly breakfast. Was good but kinda cold. I will yry it again, maybe it was an off day. But it was average

Possibly the worst dining experience I have had in quite some time. Granted, it was Father’s Day, but there is just no excuse for some of the shenanigans I witnessed at this place. For starters, I stood at the front door for about five minutes before deciding that I should just seat myself. Normally that wouldn’t bother me too much, but at least three members of the staff walked right by me without uttering a word. I sat at the bar and waited for at least 15 minutes for someone to take my order. As I waited for my meal, I listened to a member of the wait staff and the cook yell at each other right in front of me and the other guests. This back and forth yelling went on for about five minutes and was extremely uncomfortable to watch. When I finally got my meal(approximately 45 minutes after entering the restaurant), I could see an entire hand print on the plate which was pretty disgusting and unsanitary. Regardless, I starting eating my meal only to have a member of the wait staff tell me that I was eating the wrong food. Instead of apologizing for bringing me the wrong plate, I got a guilt trip for eating someone else’s food(I honestly couldn’t remember what i ordered because it had been so long). I closed my tab and left.

We were in the area and stopped in for a late lunch. Corned beef on the reuben was dry and didn’t have much flavor, had very little cheese and no sauce(i.e. Thousand island dressing) as far as I could tell. Hubs had the petite pork tenderloin sandwich and thought it was dry as well. 11YO had kids chicken tenders and thought they were a little dry. Fries and onion rings were good and service was friendly. They did a good job cleaning tables quickly after people left. Would like to try breakfast which is served all day.

We went here for a late breakfast/lunch. You seat yourself. Hint: seat yourself where they can see you or else you get the slowest service ever seen. We sat in a corner but in the front and even then the service was slow. However, once we ordered the food came pretty quick. The food was ok. I got the hash which had everything I liked. But it would have been better if the hash browns were crispier. My fiancé got the country fried pork tenderloin. It looked epic and there was a lot of food that came with it but it was kind of dry. Overall, this place was a little generic.

This place was so yummy! The staff was super friendly. Do not be intimidated by exterior bc it’s cute and cozy inside. Do yourself a favor and order the pancakes… they taste like vanilla cake!!! :)

If you are in a rush, this is not the place to go. Breakfast took over 20 minutes to come out, when we were looking for the check it was 10 minutes before the waitress even acknowledged that we even existed. My brother and I ordered off of the breakfast menu, for the most part it was underwhelming. Red Velvet muffin was okay though

Ordered breakfast, they were out of blueberries. The place was almost empty, but the food took about a half an hour. We also spent ten minutes waiting for the check. The waitress told us the air conditioned was broken, which was why the room was so hot, and that the register wasn’t working correctly, and that was why the check took so long to bring out. I understand that those problems weren’t her fault, but all in all poor experience.

We’d had a couple of subpar breakfast experiences the last couple of days of vacation, so we were hopeful, but with low expectations. After breakfast here, we knew that our restaurant luck had turned around. This is a great breakfast place. I had the 3 little piggies biscuit sandwich. The 3 meat medley was super good and the homemade biscuit was perfect. My partner got a breakfast platter and loved her pancake. What we both felt really made the meal were the hash browns. We both got the regular ones and felt they were some of the best we ever had. My partner was a little disappointed with their brand of English muffin, but had more than enough to eat to make up for it. Oh yeah, the coffee is really good too! PS: Even though we didn’t order it, the cinnamon roll that another customer ordered looked unbelievably good.

The food here is delicious, particularly the homemade cinnamon buns! Dana is so nice, even giving my friend and I advice for things to watch out for as we drove across country. I would highly recommend this place for both the food and the company!

I’ve been here many times, and everything is usually great. The food is fantastic, the service is good, and the layout is very laid back. Portions are generally large. I dig it.

Driving up to the place, it has a bit of an intimating feel to it – looks a bit derelict, grungy and the foundation of the building is off putting. But who am I to judge a book by its cover? Plus, dives are more known to throw money into their delicious food and excellent staff than on some upscale building. So I continued to walk in… It was a late, Sunday morning and the place was packed. My date and I were asked if we would wait or if we wanted to bypass the wait by sitting at the community table, which we opted to do since we were hungry. The community table is very tight and I do not recommend it, especially if you have a family. I would recommend waiting the additional time. The wait staff did take awhile to ask us what we wanted for drinks(roughly 20 minutes) and she seemed a bit unorganized and hurried. I get it, you’re busy, so I can let that slide. But it took another 15 minutes before she got around to asking us our order, so we wasted already 35 minutes when we could’ve had better seating in that time. The food didn’t take long to bring out and they were big portions. I ordered the«222» with flapjacks and their flapjacks don’t disappoint. They use their signature batter which make them have a unique taste to them. I really enjoyed them. The eggs were buttery and light and the sausage patty was impressively delightful. My date ordered the loaded hash browns and they were pretty good, about what you expect it to be. The ambiance, wait time, décor are all the reasons why I give it a three, but the food I had was excellent.

Stopped in for some Breakfast on our last full day in KC. I had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and the GF had hash browns, sausage, and one or two other things that escape me. Everything was fantastic! The food is obviously made from scratch. The décor is fun and the ladies working there were all very nice. If you are staying in the area, this place is definitely worth tracking down.

The Mixing Bowl Noshery is by far one of the best breakfast places I’ve ever ate at. All the menu options sounds really good. Hard to pick one, will have to go back to try more. We got the country wide platter(pork tenderloin, sausage gravy, hash browns eggs and flapjacks) and it was phenom. The flapjacks don’t even need syrup but that is great too. We also got the biscuits and gravy very tasty too. We had a little wait, but nothing too long considering how busy they were. The service was great here, fast on the coffee refills and we meet the very nice owner Dana. Everything our group got was great will have to try the homemade cinnamon rolls next time.

We have actually been to the mixing bowl several several times. It is a super convenient lunch, the prices are reasonable, it is consistently good. I’ve never had an experience that wasn’t very good.

Oh, I hate to write this review… I hate being Debbie Downer on places that are(or I think they may be) family run places with otherwise good reviews. Honesty though right? I walked a good distance to get here(from the convention center) and I was the only one in the restaurant. I had hesitations as it looks a bit divey from the outside, but I’ve certainly found some gems before in divey looking places. The environment is not one that I prefer… but to each their own. It’s a bit country, mismatched and kind of like that weird grama you may have where you wonder the last time she really did a deep clean? It just felt that way to me… but it’s not like I was seeing bugs or anything, just not a feel I prefer. My server was awkward as all get out. I’m not putting her name because that would just be mean, but maybe she was new and had never been a server before. Been there, done that, I did some awkward things too until people corrected me. She was a bit of a hover-er, gave me the check super early, and talked to the person behind the breakfast bar about stuff when she was on the other side of the room(and I was the only one in there). Just odd… you know? I got the Loaded Hashers, as recommended. I just didn’t really think they were anything special… it was better than Waffle House, but if Waffle House was closer, I’d just go there. Nothing about this place made me think it was worth coming back. Not the environment, the food or the service.

Yep. It was great. Went for breakfast. Brought the thunder on my order. Went with their Loaded Hashers. What are those? They are of gods and angels. Hash browns stuffed with peppers and onions, eggs and sausage and more cheese than your drunk uncle can deliver at a wedding dance floor. You’ll be asked if you want gravy. Your response is YES. You want it. Don’t ask questions. Add the gravy. Most of these recipes come from the owners Grandmother. And they’re great. Come here.

4.5 Stars This is such a cute/quaint little place. We were greeted by the owner when we walked in. It’s a family owned operation run by a husband and wife. Excellent customer service and excellent food. We came for brunch on Sunday and it was good enough that we will be back! Awesome biscuits and gravy! It’s hard to find a place that does gravy well(IMO). My friend ordered a cinnamon roll to go, but not before trying a bite. The owner said it was her grandmother’s recipe. It was awesome! Large roll with a giant blob of cream cheese frosting! Everything is made from scratch there Great food, reasonably price, excellent service!

This place has been on my «to do» list for several months. Went today and did an early lunch and was disappointed that I have not been there sooner. I did the rueben and tots. Great tender meat and grilled perfectly, with plenty of swiss and kraut. Buddy did the meatloaf special and was pleased with quantity and quality. This place seems to be at an odd location resting between Crossroads and West Side, but the comfy down home food and the way everyone is treated would be welcomed anywhere. Great Roasterie coffee also. Can’t wait to go back for the extensive breakfast menu. Well done!
