Trapp and Company

Went in to buy candles the other day. No one came to assist me so I went to the back to inquire about the Trapp line of candles. One man was behind the counter, another man and a woman were off to the side. I mentioned that my husband had been in the month before to buy the large Lavender Trapp candle and they were out, only had the votives. He was told there was some issue with the distributor. I inquired if they knew when they would get more large candles in. The man behind the counter said we have the votives, turned around and walked off with the other man. The woman looked at me as if I had a horn growing out of my head when I asked if they knew when they would get more of the large candles in. She said «I have no idea» and dismissed me by continuing to put licorice in a glass jar. So, I left. I shall not return to that store.

When I’m in Kansas City, Trapp & Co. is our go to destination for high-​quality and beautiful flowers, as well as gifts.
Going to the store, it’s almost like an oasis — the smell of nice candles is everywhere and it seems that every square inch of the store is chock full of furniture and really nice gift ideas.
For any special occasion, I definitely recommend flowers from Trapp & Co. over elsewhere. They are always so beautiful, and the one time there was a problem with the flowers, they more than made up with for it with a new, bigger set. It is pricey, but the flowers are way better than what you would get from some online aggregator.
There are a lot of great gift options here, no doubt. It runs the gamut from candles to phone accessories to cards to little chocolates. Great place to browse.

My order was completely done over the phone. It was a blind order, so I literally had no idea what I was getting myself into. I’m relieved to say that I was truly impressed with the result.
The woman to whom I spoke with on the phone was very knowledgable about what they had to offer and she basically customized a bouquet based on my budget. The customer service displayed by Trapp & Co was just as wonderful and hospitable as it could have been.
The bouquet that I ordered turned out beautiful, but the real gift from the experience was the joy from my significant other who was truly breath taken by his delivery, which greeted him at work.

Ahh… don’t even waste your time coming here! I came here for a meeting for a consultation for my wedding. I needed help with decorating, flowers, and flowers arrangements. The person I met with was very nice. She told me she would contact me and send me an e-​mail with the quotes of how much everything would cost. After a few weeks of not hearing from anyone from this company, I called back and they said they would remind the lady who met with me. Needless to say, I never heard from her or anyone from the company and I found another florist. What a wasted hour long of a meeting though. No one has time to be blown off.

Prior to my moving to California some 40+ years ago, I would go to Trapps, then a total florist. Over the years the business has expanded. I truly like everything about this independently-​run venue from the merchandise, the flowers and plants, the décor, the ambience, the prices [which to me are very reasonable as contrasted with what I’d pay for a similar item in California, and the personnel. I’ve always been given exquisite service, and for the preceding reasons, I highly recommend your patronizing this firm be you local or out-​of-​towner!

This place really is fantastic! They always have a great selection of flowers and do some truly incredible arrangements. The customer service is great and everyone is always really friendly. They have a wide selection of home décor items, and candles as well. It’s a little pricey for single stems if you are wanting to do your own arrangements which accounts for the four stars instead of five. Love this place though and highly recommend it!

I love to come into Trapp & Company. They have a variety of items for gifts and the home, but where they really shine is their floral department. Whether you’re looking for a bouquet, an arrangement, a corsage or a boutonnière, anything that you find from Trapp & Company comes out tasteful, elegant and stunning. They also work with events and do delivery.
If you’re really lucky, you might visit during one of their open house weekends where you can find great shopping and delicious snacks too!

Trapp is one of the shops where when someone asks you what they sell you struggle summing it up. I would say they carry flowers, gifts and things for the home. It’s a pretty good size place with a wide selection of candles, home fragrance, purses, spices, and many odds & ends things for the home plus much more.
Service is great, it’s a cozy place. I recommend it if you need a unique gift or just a fun place to browse on a Saturday afternoon.

Trapp & Co. is the personification of class and style. They design some of the most elegant and beautiful floral arrangements you will ever see. The gift floor is top notch visual design and full of fantastic and unique gifts. It’s a great place to go and get inspired. It is much more classic than contemporary, but a little bit of everything can be found there. It has a ladies that lunch clientele, but anyone should be able to appreciate what they have to offer. It has excellent customer service and reminds me of what service should be. The price point is high, but in this case, you pay for what you get. If you are sending flowers, this is the place to do it from… quality and design will not disappoint. Their clientele is similar to that of Hall’s and I hope that Trapp & Co. takes a note from what Hall’s has been trying to do these last couple of years and that is attract a younger generation to their business. The young, urban crowd is definitely attracted to Studio Dan Meiners and the like, for good reason, but I hope that same crowd checks out Trapp & Co. and discovers what has kept them in business for over 3 decades. Plus, how much more hip and urban can you get than having your business smack in the middle of Midtown on Main St.?! Check out this great, local chic business. PS Do I even need to mention the candles!!!
