A great place to get a drink and a bite to eat. Like to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. Everyone is so nice here and happy to help you. Great job live to dine here!

I over analyze touts from certain people, questioning their criteria for a good meal. However, she was spot on with her praise for this place. It is such a gorgeous location and the restaurant is pleasing in its simplicity. If you can, try to score a table by the window, the view of the lake is peaceful and sets the mood for a relaxing dinner. The staff is so friendly and professional, our host and server, Laura, were the best. And the food was beyond perfect. The white cheddar cheese curds are worth the calories. The onion soup was good, not too salty or canned tasting. The prime rib sandwich was generous is portion and tender. The haystack burger was very tasty and accompanied by French fries that rival some of the best I’ve ever had. The only thing that could have added to this was have gone in the summer to enjoy the patio. Otherwise, you will be happy you chose to enjoy a meal and the scenery at Michaels on the Lake,

The atmosphere to this place is great. We had a wonderful lunch on their deck and the lake was just beautiful. Food is great and the service was really wonderful too! We will be back soon.

We went for my birthday and it was wonderful!!! Prime rib was soooooo good. But will def get the larger one next time! Service was pretty decent! My wine glass was never empty, however I had to drink hubby’s water because mine was empty! That was a first for me, they usually give too much water! Can’t wait to return and see sunset over the lake!

They have 4 Octoberfest beers on tap! Enough said! Prime rib on Saturday is great. Huge French onion soup is super cheesy. Great view and sunsets at dusk

Sadly, the reviews on service were true. Arrived, waited 15 mins for our drinks and finally gave up and left.

Disappointing and way too slow service for an empty restaurant. We waited probably 10 minutes for drinks, easily 15 minutes for side salads. The menu is very limited, no burgers or sandwiches– all supper club menu. I split a very mediocre pizza with another– it wasn’t much a step above frozen, seriously. Not worth the price

They do a lot of things right here. I’d say this place is like 3.8 stars. A little pricey. Great view. Good staff. I liked the pinot noir.

Meh. That sums it up nicely. Early dinner on a Friday night. Calamari was greasy and tough as a car tire. Did like the addition of capers and a sweet chilli sauce. Main course — tried the catfish and«house fries». Disaster. The«catfish» instead of being a lovely filet was a pile of misshapen nuggets of questionable origin. The first nugget was a disgusting lump of mush covered in cornmeal. The next nugget was much the same. When the third attempt didn’t prove to be any better I stopped trying to eat the fish. Then there were the fries — preparation was adequate — but then they messed it up by dusting with powdered«Parmesan». Between the mushy catfish lumps covered in corn meal and the fries dusted with Parmesan it looked like my entire plate was covered in sand. My last peeve — no table cloth — no place mats — but linen napkins? I dislike flatware placed on a naked table. It was too much like eating in a diner. On the upside — lovely flatware! Heavy well balanced handles — pleasing lines. Oh, and the house Pinot was fine.

Love this place. For starters we have the crab cakes made fresh in house. Next a 16 ounce porterhouse. The steak was cooked and seasoned properly. Excellent drinks strong and tasty. Damn just typing about it I think I might go back tonight. By the way seating outside has a beautiful view of eagle lake. Looking forward to spring to enjoy a meal outside.

Great location on the lake and good food. New owners who are very nice. Great bar but too bad someone passed a stupid law about how late bars can stay open in the area and they can’t stay open past 11pm. We would have stayed later. We will be back again!

Went with the whole family for Mother’s Day brunch. It was very busy. We had to wait, but the food and the service were top notch for an event like Mother’s Day! Great spread!!! Great Job!!! The owner Michael went around asking everyone how everything was, that’s «class». It was the 1st time at Michaels for all of us. Just beautiful!!! I will rate again after I eat off the regular menu(s) Bar/Dinning. Worth the drive!!! Worth a try!!!

A friend and I drove out to Michael’s for lunch today. Only 15 miles west of Racine and well worth the drive. Food was great and chatting with the two owners was very pleasant and interesting. One of them said he’d never put anything on the menu that he wouldn’t want to eat seven days a week — works for me! Onion soup was yummy — a key criteria I use to evaluate a restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

We just had a great dinner at Michael’s On the Lake. My steak was cooked perfectly medium rare(YAY!!), the green beans were fresh and delicious and the garlic mashed potatoes were soooo good! And the warm bread is perfect. Prices were reasonable, but probably what you’d consider«more expensive» for the area. There didn’t seem to be a lot of «in between» price items on the dinner menu. We will definitely eat here again.

After seeing some reviews of this place on other sites, I decided to locate it down a small road on the edge of a large lake. Looking brand new with a separate banquet facility, we found the food to be excellent, the view just as good and the service just fine. This is a very nice place to stop at for lunch(and presumably dinner). I highly recommend it.

Who would have thought that we can enjoy an incredible dinner while watching the sun set over the water… in Wisconsin! In our continuing search for great dining in Southeast Wisconsin, serendipity brought my wife and me to our best find yet. We decided to head west from Racine to check out a chop house in Union Grove. When we got to the front door, we realized it probably wasn’t what we were looking for. But we did see a road sign for the newly opened Michael’s on the Lake. As we drove up, we were amazed by the setting. We found a brand new building literally right on the lake. We could have sat out on the patio, but instead opted for a table right next to the big windows overlooking the water. The beautiful cloudless dusk just made the perfect scene. Then the food came. My wife had the Caesar salad(authentically made with real anchovies) and I had the soup of the day, a hearty spicy southwest chicken. But the real star of our first course was the freshly baked rustic bread, a soft and delicious middle surrounded by perfect crust. Then my ribeye arrived. As a lifelong Chicagoan, I know my steaks. And I have to say that this was probably the best steak I’ve ever had in Wisconsin. The only one that has come close was the Chop House at the Milwaukee Hilton. [And by coincidence, we learned that the chef at Michael’s used to work at the Hilton Chop House.] The rib-eye was juicy, flavorful and perfectly prepared. I prefer my ribeye medium, and this hit it perfectly. As we were enjoying our entrees, we noticed the couple next to us tearing into a huge slice of carrot cake. So we made sure leave room for dessert, and we were not disappointed. Again freshly made right there, my wife thought it was the best carrot cake she’s ever had. Not sure about that, but I gotta admit it’s up there if it isn’t. We’re so happy to find a great place to have an awesome romantic dinner in the Racine area. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but we’ll definitely be coming back… and recommending this to our friends. One tip: the steak came with sweet roasted garlic. I used it as a spread on the bread, and it was a perfect match.
