The place was good. Good service. I ordered the Denver omelet but I wish they would’ve diced the onions and peppers. My hubby loved the Denver omelet. The pancakes were okay. Extra big and flat.

Food was ok. Location is good. Service was friendly but very slow. I had a BBQ chicken sandwich and wife had Ono tacos. really just ok all around

I visited Hula girl a while ago and it was a good experience. I had the eggs benedict and macadamia nut pancakes. I remember the coconut syrup being really really sweet, so don’t douse your pancakes with it… unless you’re into overly sweet breakfast. I miss Kauai!

Is this place even open anymore? the sign is still up but the restaurant is Eggbert’s in the morning and closed in the evenings.

The bad news is they are closed. The good news they are set to reopen in March. They share space with Eggbert’s now — they will cover the nights and leave the AM to Eggberts. Good news for Eggbert customers, since they now have a bar.

With a picture of a hula girl as the logo for this so-named Hula Girl restaurant, I thought it had to be a tourist trap. I was pleasantly surprised though. Surfer-size portions at affordable prices are served with live ukulele music in the background. The macadamia nut-encrusted mahi mahi is a favorite among many, including me. I like the combo’s available e.g. Turf & Surf(steak & fish or shrimp or scallops), Big Surf & Turf(steak & fish & shrimp or scallops), High Surf Warning(fish, shrimp & scallops), Surf & Surf(fish & anything else), Bombora Set(steak, fish & lobster). There’s also pasta, sandwiches, and salads, but those just made me Barf & Barf. 1 star off: Barf 1 star off: & Barf

The setting of this restaurant was cool but the food was pretty average. We started with the poke which came out drowning in soy sauce. Then we had the chicken skewers which weren’t bad. For my entrée, I had the seafood linguine which was good but plain and definitely not hard to replicate at home. The service wasn’t the best; our waiter didn’t seem too happy to have customers even with only three other parties in the place. But this was one of the few joints that offered free entertainment so worth a try.
