This was a great lunch stop between beaches. We enjoyed a few fish tacos and some chicken. The atmosphere was unique and cute. Music was relaxing along with the cool breeze as we sat outside under the mason jar lights and among the trees.

Ordered the two fish tacos. Boring. Cold uncooked flour tortillas and very bland. The other two didn’t mind theirs. Expensive I thought for what you get.

Based on previous Unilocal reviews, we had lunch at this wonderful little restaurant and were delighted! We ordered a salad of very fresh greens and added seared ahi tuna! The serving size was huge! Two large pieces of tuna at such a reasonable price! We also ordered the Mahi fish tacos! We’ll definitely return before the end of our vacation! The staff was also very nice!

Skewed and biased review here, but alas, here’s my experience. My wife was feeling pretty terrible and had a horrible case of hangriness [don’t mess with a pregnant woman, yo!], so I was in a flurry to get her some food. Unfortunately, in her pregnancy, she has zero tolerance for Shoyu and MSG, so being that everything fish related at Kilauea Fish Market is marinated in Shoyu, we were left with a $ 9 bean and cheese burrito as something ‘safe’ for her to eat. While waiting for my food, I was eyeing what other people had ordered, and out of the tacos I spotted, it seemed that the fish was over cooked. Of course, that’s just a visual assessment. After 20 minutes — count ‘em, TWENTY minutes for a bean and cheese burrito, I was sent on my way. Guess I’m just not used to the Hawaiian flow of time. Hard to appreciate the laid back tempo when a nauseous pregnant woman is taking her hangriness out on me. Overpriced and slow, but I guess you can’t blame ‘em.

Best fish tacos EVERR. Had the Mochi fish tacos 3 days in a row and they did not disappoint. With all the great food on the island, this has to be my favorite and it was completely worth the price. Other items were great too(poke bowl, shrimp cocktail, ono wrap), but I would just order as many fish tacos you can eat. Definitely gonna miss this place!

Great place for lunch. Has a couple of picnic tables and two person tables outside and seating inside. This is a great place to order to go and eat on the beach which is within walking distance. My favorite are the fish tacos. My husband likes the Poke as he can order as much or as little as he feels liking eating and they’ll put it on salad greens.

The food was pretty good. The service was very poor. Everyone seemed to wait at least 30 minutes for their food. I finally had to go back inside and Shepherd my order through. The ahi wrap was skinny on fish and long on fillers. The fish tacos were very tasty. I would not come back solely on the slow and disorganized service.

Freshest fish we’ve had on the island so far. We got takeout from here with a few friends so we could enjoy it on our lanai. I got the Cajun seared ahi salad which was excellent – the salad dressing was creamy & delicious and added to the(already awesome) ahi. We got some poke to try and wish we had gotten more!!!

Really delicious food at this hard to find market. Excellent poke and really yummy bowls. Great place to stop before the beach!

Awesome spot! Got into Kauai pretty late and opted for this spot after reading such great reviews. Several folks, including out Alamo rental car guy, told us this area near out Marriott had fantastic food options. Fish Market is a little tucked behind a resort and fits the criteria for a classic«hole in the wall». As you approach closer, you’ll see the décor inside is very boho chic and they have a HUGE menu chalked on the wall. I went for the Korean BBQ Chicken Plate. Enjoyed every bit. Ingredients are fresh and food is well-prepared. Four stars because we had to wait a bit, but no harm done!

After traveling all day, we wanted our first Kauai meal to be something fast but also unique to the island. This place was recommended by the owner of the apt we are staying in. I got the ahi ahi wrap and my husband got the Korean BBQ chicken. Both were delicious! Sheryl was very friendly and created a pleasant experience. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for something casual and fast. It’s a little tough to find, just keep driving through the Islander parking lot to the very back corner, it’s well worth it!

If you are in the market for some Poke, this is one of 2 great places on Kauai(you’ve got to hit a fish market for the best, although a local mentioned that Costco actually has some good poke, too!!) This place is great if you are with someone who may not like the idea of raw fish as they have a menu with a variety of items. I love poke, but was in the mood for something different and I can hardly resist fish tacos. A previous review gave the Ono fish tacos, mochi style, high stars so I had to try. Mochi, by the way, is lightly breaded and fried. They were indeed fantastic. The poke was also great, but was really only appetizer sized… they let us buy by the pound, though, and my husband was able to get enough to satisfy his appetite. We got a pound of the Maui onion and then a half pound of lightly seared. Amazing!!! If you are close, this is a great find and open until 8 pm, whereas most other fish markets close early, around 5.

Solid. Pricey but the food is fresh and they utilize organic ingredients wherever possible. Since the closing of the Coconut Grove Marketplace my husband and I were looking for substitutes(we really miss TC’s). The fish market was there to comfort us. The staff is friendly and the food consistent. MUSTTRY: The Ono fish tacos MOCHI style! YUHHH! MOCHI means fried, but not greasy or heavy. Large cut of Ono battered and fried to perfection. Topped with zesty, delish house made salsa, garlic cilantro cream, cheese, fresh cabbage and red onions. BOMB! Also enjoyed the BBQ chicken plate when I needed a break from all the seafood we consumed. The chicken was well prepared and light. Their house made potato-macaroni salad is one of the better versions on the island. Shrimp cocktail and poke were fresh and yummy, too! Cute interior, nice décor, lots of parking and very clean. Pro Tip: They allow you to BYOB. Just be cool if you do. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us.

We went here on our last night on Kauai. Super tasty food! I had the ahi poke salad, and an orange iced tea, and boyfriend had the seared ahi, all served on paper plates. We had a decent-sized shrimp cocktail to start, which was also pretty delicious. Kilauea Fish Market was a bit hard to find from the car if it’s getting dark, since there are a couple big umbrellas blocking the sign. No biggie, but I was glad another Unilocal review gave a heads up to watch for the umbrellas. The restaurant isn’t exceptionally tiny, but can be hard to spot next to the massive hotel that shares the parking lot. Apparently, they’ll let you bring your own beer and wine, which is pretty awesome. The parking lot was jam packed but not ridiculous, and the prices were good.

Our little party landed in Kauai ravenous and made a beeline for this place. Sadly they were not open yet and we made the mistake of not waiting. Due to various things interrupting us, we were not able to make it back until close to the end of the trip. It was soooo good that we went twice on our last day. Once to actually eat and then half an hour later to pick up things to go to eat on the plane. The tacos were super fresh and delicious. Our party of 4 tried various things and everything was delicious. I would recommend going early as they tend to get busy and run out of fish.

We just arrived on Kauai and wanted a light but good meal. Found Kilauea on Unilocal(Bless you!). Couldn’t be more pleased. Wifey had the ono tacos grilled($ 12.99). Huge and filling and tasty. I had the Korean BBQ Chicken Plate($ 10.99) and enjoyed a very generous portion of very well grilled chicken strips more teriyaki than Korean. I’ve eaten in Korea and teriyaki is an improvement. Two scoops rice plus a nice green salad was a huge meal. We could have split either dish. All of this in addition to BYOB policy made for a delightful first meal on Kauai. Highly recommended!

Amazing fish wrap. Got the Ono«mochi» style so it came out wonderfully crunchy. Great crunchy vegetables with a creamy dressing inside. You know it’s good when you’re still oohing and ahhing until the very last bite. Had the ginger aide which was fantastic, haven’t been able to find it elsewhere on the island elsewhere. If you’re a fan of ginger beer– and I even make my own at home– it’s a must try. I’ll be back here again before I leave!

Kind of hard to find but really good! Not in the Coconut Marketplace but near the Aston Islander. Look for the orange umbrellas and string lights. I got 3 special plates for dinner: Ono rating: Shrimp: 4⁄5 Great flavor but not enough shrimp to be super filling, even with brown rice. Pork: 3.5÷5 Nothing too special. Not bad but not«wow omg.» More filling than shrimp plate though. Mochi Chicken: 5⁄5 My fave dish. Chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The dressing paired well with the salad and the chicken. This place is buzzing even 5 minutes till closing!

We visited this little gem for lunch, it’s a cute small eatery that serves insanely fresh fish. I ordered the fish tacos with Ono, prepared mochi style. These tacos were served fresh and hot. The tacos were huge. I finished my order of two tacos but I was stuffed! The garlic cilantro cream sauce was killer… I’m gonna try to recreate this at home! When we were eating a fisherman showed up with a freshly caught ahi… Can’t get any fresher then that! A must visit on the island of Kauai.

This place has the best(ono) fish tacos ever! I get them grilled and they come with cilantro garlic sauce, red salsa, and crunchy slaw on flour tortillas. They make my mouth sing . The place is tucked away by the aston islander on the beach hotel. They have lots of other yummy fish dishes but I can’t seem to stop ordering the fish tacos!
