Friendly service, food is ready fast, great place for takeout. I got the chicken taco salad and loved it. If you like your food spicy make sure to ask for more of the spicy sauce they give you because I definitely wish I did.

Absolutely loved this place! They know exactly how to do a fish taco. It’s not fancy, but it’s perfect. Fresh fish, perfectly cooked, on a double layer of soft tortilla, with a perfectly dressed slaw on top. They also provided two options for additional sauce, a chipotle aioli and a spicy salsa. Honestly, the taco was already pretty wet and well-dressed, so I didn’t feel like it needed anything more. It was perfect as is! Their agua fresca was also fantastic — made in-house, fresh, that day. It’s hard to dine on the cheap in Hawaii, but for less than $ 10, you can get a fantastic light lunch here. For $ 15 you’ll be stuffed and satisfied. Great service, too.

Excellent Mexican food in Kapaa. We were here a week and went to Pacos twice. Great tacos and burritos. Fish and shrimp were outstanding. BYOB and excellent service too. Highly recommended.

At last our journey has ended, our search for what we consider to be the best fish tacos on the island. Granted we did only visit four places but of those places this one is the BEST!(Until tomorrow j/k done with fish tacos for awhile) Let me start by saying if you think you will only eat one… Your WRONG. We started be ordering one Baja and a plate of three fresh fish tacos.(We were Wrong, I ordered 3 more) Service was good, food was great. Tacos come in a double corn tortilla soft shell(wife could do without the second shell) cabbage on top of the fish, and a tasty fish sauce on top of that, a spoon full of fresh pico de gallo completed the taco. Now this is where they become EPIC! The server brought out a chipotle mayo and a spicy salsa to squeeze on your taco. Outstanding flavors! I would also recommend getting a side of guacamole to smear into the taco.(why I liked the second tortilla) They have an interesting beer selection? BYOB so make sure you stop and pick one or two up before you visit this place, it can only add to the enjoyment of eating such a delicious meal.

Oh my god. The food here is amazing! We had breakfast burritos and they were bomb! The chorizo is delicious but spicy. We also had the Cali burritos for lunch. They have French fries in them. Delicious!!! Good friendly service and amazing food. What more could want? Wish they had food this good back home.

Food truck was great price and portion! Restaurant higher price for halff the portion and not good at all. Chicken taco salad shell says it all its the smallest flour tortilla covered with veggies and meat so no crunchy shell to enjoy it’s soggy tortilla under the salad. My eight year old was still hungry. Also did beef burrito portion was good but the meat was so chewy had no taste and was dry. Definitely not going back again. Verde is 3 minutes down the road in the Shell gas station/Times supermarket shopping center they also have Margarita Mondays $ 3.00.

The place looks a bit off putting when you walk in but keep going. I read the Unilocal reviews and decided to try it, I’m glad I did. They don’t serve alcohol which I know is a downside for many people but not important to me. The food is incredibly authentic and very fresh. I had the al pastor taco, reviewers said you had to add there sauces to whatever taco you get, I can tell you that’s very true. It’s not because they need the sauce, it’s because they are so good. My parents had the Ono tacos, which they loved. The fish tasted fresh and the tacos were good sized. My husband had the veggie burrito and the bean and cheese burrito(you don’t need 2 burritos, they aren’t small but he’s an eater). He thought they were both good. I had to get the churros. I really can never find fresh, not overcooked and hard churros. These were awesome. There isn’t chocolate sauce, but you don’t need it. Order them, you won’t regret it(except maybe your waistline). There are a lot of old standard restaurants that people say you should go to(that will remain nameless here), skip them and don’t miss this one.

Hit or miss here. On the right day, the Baha Ono fish tacos are the best on the island — crisp and the perfect amount of garnishments. On the wrong day(today) they are soggy, over battered, sloppily packed. Same with the tacos carnitas. The dog got today’s pair. My guess is when the owner is working its great and when its the fill-in cook not so much. I won’t stop going, its just maybe ¼ times it falls below par.

Service was fast, I wouldn’t say friendly but not rude either. Luke warm . Prices are Hawaii prices. 5 bucks everything. 5 bucks for each taco, each drink. Rack up quick. Yet I have to say I enjoyed my meal quite a lot. The tacos where some of the best tacos I’ve had. The Al pastor meat was tender and flavorful. The fish taco was good too. We got our food fast and our tamarindo water was refreshing and not too sweet just right.

Carne Asada burrito. Yes it’s great. Lots of meat and spices. Plus they serve mexican burritos, not like the healthy breakfast burrito across the street. Healthy burritos are not mexican.

Really pricey horchata, I realize we’re on an island. The horchata was said to be freshly made, but it tasted like the powered ones on mainland. It needed more cinnamon and sugar and a bit of milk. They do speak Spanish though.

Really good, authentic MXN food… Yum! My family had the fish tacos, cheese enchiladas, and a bean-n-cheese burrito. Our friends had a grilled fish salad and chicken tacos. Food is so flavorful & nice presentation. Will come again.

This review is for El Pastor Taco! I didn’t realize I wrote the review in the wrong vendor til just now :( Had the Pastor and fish taco. Yummy! The filling s were really great but didn’t eat the tortilla(nothing wrong with it; just didn’t want any). Little pricey for a taco but was worth it. Get it aka carte so you can enjoy the tacos versus the other things that come with the combo meals.

Unfortunately completely missed mark. Service forgetful, slow and unapologetic when she delivered wrong food. She asked if we wanted to get what we ordered(realized she gave another table our food and theirs to us) but after 40 min just wanted to eat and go. Wish I could say food was good but it was barely average. Hot sauce was empty on flavor, fish & beef was tough. Corn tortillas and chips were stale. Overall complete fail. Not sure how it gets Unilocal ratings I saw.

Pretty darn good tacos for this island. Love that you can byob and sit outside while you enjoy your meal and people watch. My favorite was the al pastor taco salad. They really got a good scald on that meat. We also had the ceviche, grilled fish tacos and al pastor burrito enchilada style. Only downside was the menudo. $ 12 for small container that was mostly full of pata(foot bone). Had no flavor, hardly any hominy and meat wasn’t cleaned as well as our family makes it.

Absolutely fan-freaking-tastic! Second visit in 3 days — and we drove up here from Poipu, just for this. The grilled fish tacos are juicy, with just the right amount of kick — garnished with pico and jalapeño salsa. Top that with the Baja and Tomatillo sauces delivered to the table — along with a pinch or two of lime — and you have a freshly made meal out of this world. My girlfriend ordered the carnitas burrito, and it was absolutely stuffed to the brim with excellently seasoned shredded pork, pico and a little bit of avocado — the whole thing is then grilled, giving each bite a little bit of crunch. We will be back — no doubt about it.

Excellent Mexican food. The Carne Asada fries are the bomb! Fish tacos are tasty too. Good, quick service and they serve one of my fave drinks, Horchata!!!
