the ahi fish tacos were the best tacos i had in my week’s stay! really! I tried fish tacos almost every place that had been recommended and these surpassed them all. you get a choice of cork tortillas or flour, cilantro or salsa or both and the degree to which you want your fish cooked. all in all, a tasty discovery.

Great staff and good selection of food items – cooked & cold prepared food bar, which is so convenient. If you’re needing groceries or organic toiletry items this is a great place to stop by as they have fresh produce as well as frozen items. I just went in to pick up a few things to eat back at my hotel room and while I was hanging out on the beach. I also wanted to take a relaxing bath, and they had a nice selection of natural/organic bath salts & bubble baths! This is a simple place, but it has good eats and if you’re vegan, this is a perfect place!

Really nice market with great salad bar selection FOOD: While on vacation in Kauai I was desperately seeking out a cheap and tasty salad option. So glad I made my way to Papaya. Their salad bar selection was pretty awesome for being located inside a grocery store. I also tried the nori fish wrap from the grill — very very tasty! SERVICE&SPACE: The space is a grocery store with some outdoor seating, nothing too fancy. Service was nice enough. It’s a bit granola-y, and I felt a little out of place rolling up in my rental SUV… PRICE: Pretty good for a small market in a tourist location. Their salad bars are cheaper than any I’ve found on Oahu, with a larger selection! I’m sold — I’ll definitely be returning to Papaya’s next time I’m on Kauai.

Loved this place. Was introduced to the Sugarloaf Pineapple here. The hotbar has enough things to satiate vegans, vegetarians, and anyone else. Kind of get this feeling that Down to Earth from Oahu was transported to Kauai but with the«Honey I Shrunk the Kids» feel to it.

The café is definitely worth stopping in for. The«green hulk» smoothie(bananas, kale, peanut butter or tahini butter, protein powder, dates, spirulina, and soy or rice milk) was one of the best tasting green smoothies I’ve ever had! The market itself has a great stock of «natural» foods, supplements, oils, soaps, etc. The best of it’s kind I happened upon while on the island.

My husband and I frequented Papaya’s during our trip to Kauai and stocked up on produce, trail mix, and some of their pre-made food. Awesome place!

Fan of the tofu and taro burger. Unfortunately, they ran out of fish for their fish tacos by the time we got there.

This is my go-to… As a very loyal Down to Earth shopper I can truly appreciate Papayas. I shop here frequently and oh goodness the Sugarloaf pineapple is something to try for sure. All the right products and foods plus a wonderful staff to assist with whatever you need… Always a comfortable and familiar place :)

As a traveler, this was the best store and had many of the same items that we eat/use at home. Cheapest place to buy Spring water around.
