Yuk. All that money spent and such poor service. Servers were so lousy, ruined the whole meal. I’ve rarely been treated so poorly by wait staff. I was horribly disappointed. The Ritz Carlton should be ashamed of itself.

The Banyan Tree was the best we have found in Maui. Great views, exceptional service, excellent food and presentation. The ambience far outshines other restaurants and thank god there is no music — the noise level is low and you can talk without having to raise your voice.

Very disappointing. We dined here on Valentine’s Day for dinner — our reservation was at 7:45pm, we were finally seated at 8pm, and we didn’t receive the wine we ordered until 8:45pm — an entire hour later. The messed up a few of our dishes. We ordered kabocha pumpkin but they subbed in purple sweet potato without asking us. Okay, but very confusing — especially when the waiter who delivered it insisted that it was kabocha(it was not). The fettucine that was described as having scallops instead had giant hockey pucks of overcooked tuna. AVOID.

Wow. Everything we ordered was amazing from the appetizers to the drinks to dessert. The service was excellent. Pricey, but they earn every penny.

Yum. Here in Maui on our babymoon and they spoiled us. First they prepare my wife a great mock tail… just as good as my drink. Food Started with octopus and the baked ricotta, split a salad, and then had seared ahi and seafood fetucinni. Dessert of crème brûlée and a nice bit of truffles finished the meal. It’s pricey, but our service and food were amazing.

We had an extremely pleasant NYE dinner here. The atmosphere is beautiful, even after sunset you are surrounded by lush greenery and lit torches outside with an ocean breeze. The duck buns are amazing, as is the ahi poke. Our server, Robert, is a true gem and was a joy to be around, he made our evening special. My husband had the barbecue rubbed Mahi which was a excellent, I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, which was very light and not creamy at all, almost no sauce except for a light broth. Our desserts — chocolate lava cake with coffee ice cream and the tiramisu were superb, as was coffee itself.

Easily the best meal that we had in Maui. Spectacular food and service as well as a great view. Everyone from the greeter all the way to our server made the experience perfect. The manager stopped by and asked how the food and service were, as well as how we were enjoying our trip. It looked like all of the servers were fantastic, but I’d highly recommend asking for Robert(Roh-bear). Probably the best service I’ve had in all my years of fine dining. The food was delicious and arrived perfectly paced. If you’re looking for a nicer place to dine, The Banyan Tree should be at the top of your list in Maui.

On our first night in Maui, we had a wonderful experience at The Banyan Tree. The restaurant impresses with ocean views and the food is second to none. My wife had the opakapaka and I had the seared ahi, per our servers recommendation. Both fresh and delicious. Our server, Robert, was top notch and really made the meal a memorable experience. When someone loves what they do, it shows, and Robert is a prime example of this. Also an excellent wine selection and a knowledgable sommelier/manager(Kris?) to aid you. Great staff!

Small portions and high prices for mediocre food and spotty service. What sticks out the most is the $ 11 or $ 12 glass of wine that had me convinced that I wine sampling, only I never made it to the second glass. There are many other better dining options in Maui.

Best dinner in Maui. Excellent service and super tasty food. Each dish is prepared the right way. Spicy corn soup is the best ever. Chocolate ice cream is excellent. Beautiful plate presentation in every dish too. Bravo!

Incredible meal, staff and ambiance! Truly an unforgettable experience. Every bite of the food was delicious and the staff was so sweet. The chef is truly talented and the Sommelier and manager, Kris Dolotina is a gem! We can’t wait to go back!

Amazing… service over the top. Had Poke, Butter Salad, Short Ribs and upcountry Mahi– ½ price wine Wednesday’s rule and the cocktail farm to table menu so creative and delicious. Next time must come at sunset. Bravo Ritz!

I had a great evening here at the Banyan Tree Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton. I was invited to an event which included dinner among colleagues and there were sevral aspects that drove me to write my first Unilocal review. The ambiance and the presentation was phenomenal. We had the pleasure to meet the master chef as well as the manager of the restaurant. Thank you for a great evening

If I could give this restaurant anymore stars, I would! Lauren at the front is amazing! She is welcoming and very friendly. Robert, or «rooober» has the most wonderful accent and seems to love what he does. The food was amazing!(amazing is an understatement) complements to chef Jonathan and Chef Matthew for our delicious meal and dessert. Ben, let’s talk about Ben and his ability to make you the perfect drink. Talk about your master mixologist! The staff is wonderful and I would love to celebrate with them again!

The food was SPECTACULAR, however the service was pretty sub-par. They have a lot of really interesting things on their food and cocktail menu. The cocktails are STRONG! I’m not usually one to complain about a drink being too strong, but it was actually kind of hard to get down.

This is such a fantastic restaurant! Everything from the décor to the service to the amazing food was perfect! Our server Robert was the best! He was so attentive and everything he described sounded delicious! the cocktails were creative and light. I started with the warm ricotta. It was unbelievably silly and the perfect amount of sweet. I then had the ahi that was cooked perfectly. An amazing meal in a gorgeous setting. I must for a lovely evening in Maui!

Location was absolutely fabulous, as was the atmosphere. Conveniently located on the Ritz-Carlton property, we were looking forward to dinner at the Banyan Tree in lieu of the mediocre reviews listed. We found both the service and food to be average. The highlight of the dinner(aside from the view), was the homemade lavash bread and whipped garlic butter. With very high prices, not to mention it being part of the Ritz resort, there is an expected level of service and quality; a level that wasn’t met. To be clear, the food and service wasn’t bad, but simply average… something that I would have expected from the pool-side food service, but not from a higher end restaurant.

They really screwed up what was a casual elegant beach restaurant. It now looks like a large diner and the service was very disappointing. The didn’t get the salad orders correctly(and couldn’t offer a reason why), never returned to the table to pour the beverage from the cooler(I had to get up and bring it to the table), didn’t bring utensils for everyone at the table for desert and appeared to to be in training. They had plastic table mats — no table clothes. It was as expensive as any restaurant on Maui. The food was good, however, and the chef circulated which was classy. On balance, its hard to believe the Ritz produced this. What were they thinking?

We ate here at night, so we weren’t able to enjoy the view, but that’s ok since we already experienced the view staying at the hotel. The food was very mediocre. Nothing stood out as a «must have». The service was ok. If I’m ever back in Maui staying at the Ritz Carlton, I’ll be sure to skip the Banyan Tree.
