I will admit upfront I am partial to this bowling center. I’ve been coming here for decades. And, I mean decades. My best game was bowled here. I was in many bowling leagues here. I’ve taken many trophies, made many friends and scored high many times here. Let’s not dwell on the pass. Let’s get to the pluses. Tuesday is $ 2.00 Tuesday. $ 2.00 a line and $ 2.00 shoe rental. I come here because it is convenient to my current location. Love the red pin game because I’ve got a better than 50% chance of striking, and have won many free game coupons. Just can’t use it the same day. That’s fine because that gives me and G another day to bowll other than Tuesday. We’re usually there in the morning when they open. The shoes are clean and have a chance to air out. The food we get is breakfast. Not too hard to get wrong. Been pretty happy with what we get there. I order my eggs over easy medium and it’s right all the time. By the time we finish, it’s time for lunch. Speaking of lunch, gotta go.

The guy had ZERO enthusiasm to be servicing us. Sweating like crazy. Games don’t work. No staff to ensure safety of bowling shoes at all because there were at least 20 people bowling with regular shoes. I was So excited to spend my bday bowling but if it wasn’t for the company of my family i wouldn’t have stayed for that hour wait for one lane. Need to update facility, STAFF and just overall this place needs an entire change. A more exciting environment.

THEWORSTPLACEEVER !!! I WISHTHAT UnilocalCOULDGIVEUSTHECHOICETOMINUSSTARS . My peers and I went to this place due to the fact that it was closer to our day program. We asked if it was OK for us to play a couple of games and the girl in front called the owner and said it was OK. My friends and I are in wheelchairs and some have special needs. And that’s why we asked first before playing. As we stared our game a lady walked over and talk to a staff member from our day program not thinking that we could understand the words that where coming out of her mouth. She look at our staff member and said«you guys will need to keep it down ‚ !! we have a tournament going on. Then pointed to a peer of mine and said especially him!! Thinking he could not understand. She was rude about it and seem to be angry that we where there. We just got in and only two people bowled. The group was humiliated and no one seem to want to play. We as a group of special need people are always being discriminated by and it’s hard to feel like we always need the permission of others to be ourselves and have fun. The group did not continue to play and everyone wanted to leave. A staff member from the place apologize and said there was nothing they could do especially because the women who walked over to us TELLINGUSTOKEEPITDOWN … WASTHEOWNER ITWASEVENMORE A SURPRISETOEVERYONETHATWHENWEASKEDIFITWASOKTHEGIRLINFRONTTALKTOTHEOWNERANDTHATITWASOK. I have never felt embarrassed not just for myself but for us all who went expecting for today to be a good fun day. We will never come here again. And to the owner«if u are going to say yes then be rude and point someone out for being happy. Put up a sign saying«THISISNOT A PLACEWHEREEVERYONEISTREATEDTHESAME. BYOWNER . It will save a lot of people time to not deal with the rudeness and find a place where everyone is treated the same. To the owner: We live in the 20th century. We all should be treated equal! !

Went there with the family during the day and we had a great time. The prices are reasonable, the shoes are clean and they have a lot of balls to choose from. They have different specials during the week and they are posted on the website. After we played a couple of games we ate at the snack bar. I was pleasantly surprised with the snack bar, decent food and fair prices. They have a tv in the snack bar so you can zone out while you eat. It’s not a fancy bowling center but it has everything thing that you need to have a great day at the bowling alley!

LOVEDIT! Bowled here for the first time and I loved it the attendants were awesome and very accommodating. There was a party going on so there was a long wait but I still enjoyed my time there. The kitchen served good food. I loved that fact that it was cheap. Took my daughter and she had fun. Plus got free shoe rental so we loved it.

This initial review is based on a phone conversation, not the center itself. I called to inquire about open lanes, a man answered«We have league right now. Bye!» And hung up. I’m a little disappointed. My husband and I have 3 kids and we live 5 minutes away and we would’ve loved to bring our business there. I suppose we’ll stick to Aiea bowl.

Friendly staff and not super busy compared to other bowling alleys. The food was good and prices weren’t too bad. Came on a Sunday and liked how it’s close to where I live on the Ewa/Kapolei side of the island. Enjoyed their garlic fries and calamari

FIRST timer here &BADEXPERIENCE… If you want to get SICK this is the place to EAT! Under Cooked food… And the wait time for food is over 10 minutes to an Hour. Don’t recommend eating here. It was my nieces 4th birthday and they ordered PIZZA, that was under cooked, looked cooked but wasn’t smh and when they took it back the old man said«oh sorry, someone turned the heat down»(only had the cashier n the old guy working). And when my sister in law asked for a refund because it took them 1hr to recook 2 pizza the hawaiian Aunty said that she had to wait because the manager is BOWLING? Umm no one was on the lanes because they were waxing it for the league and then she rudely said you know what«Hea Hea grab your refund»… Like HELLO Aunty if you no like your JOB please QUIT! Oh and their portion on food is not WORTH the price you pay! Paying for a $ 2.50 large fries was paying the same amount for a Happy Meal keiki fries at McDonalds and when I ask the AUNTY she said Sorry, we only make the food not the PRICES. Who cares about the PRICE! COOK&SERVE and treat people with RESPECT! Bowling as alright(not all that) but this will be the first and last time. This shouldn’t even be a FULL star. Smh

Great time bowling with friends. Plenty of lanes and a snack bar that serves beer. Good wholesome fun… Just don’t ask me what I bowled. lol.

Barbers Bowling Center is a fun time. This place was privatized from a military-only establishment a few years back and the government didn’t exactly hand it over in perfect condition. The new owners have been working to improving into a 1st-rate facility but bowling centers are an expensive operation and the improvements wont happen overnight. A bowling center is a lot more than wood lanes and some pins. First the bad — the place is in need of some cosmetic changes as mentioned, but its a fully functioning bowling center and the equipment works. Electronic scoring, pin setting, ball return, all work with only the occasional need to reset(like every bowling center since the beginning of time). The other issue is that its small and you may have to wait for a lane. If a large party has reserved lanes on a weekend you may not get to bowl. It only has 24 lanes, about half the size of commercial bowling centers. However on weekdays you’ll have no problem getting one or two lanes. Lastly, the food can be hit or miss. They could use a KCC culinary grad to jazz up their existing food offerings. But for basic snacks and drinks its good. I like the popcorn chicken and french fries. Good comfort food and made fast. They’ll even bring it to your lane which is pretty cool. Would love to give them 5 starts but as others have mentioned it does need a little TLC. The good — The staff is fantastic! Always friendly and helpful. I really enjoy myself there knowing they care. Not a bad attitude anywhere. The A/C blows cold so its a comfortable environment. They have red pin bowling in the daytime where you can win a free game, and I know they’re working on getting their lighting in order to host Cosmic Bowling, which is super fun especially for the kids. Barbers is an old-tyme family style bowling center where all are welcome, which is a nice change from other bowling centers that are dominated by wannabe pro bowler types. For anyone looking to try something different or those who want to get a little more serious about their game, Barbers is a very relaxed environment and a great place for a fun afternoon or evening. Men, this is great place to take a date after dinner if you’re tired of that stinky movie theater in Kapolei. They have a nice little dining area to sit down between games. They also offer a larger banquet hall for group events or party’s that can be catered, which is a great idea for local Business owners looking to reward employees or boost moral. Always lots of smiles at Barbers Point Bowling Center. Give it a try!

Food is good sometimes, bad other times. Hence my reason for the low rating. It is inconsistent. Another turnoff is I was there on a league night and they allow vapor smoking(whatever it’s called). Don’t know if this is harmful for your health but the flavor of the evening sure gave me a headache. I do not recommend.

The lanes suck, need to take care and do some remodeling. Good place for a small party ONLY, the wait is an hour on the weekends. Good for kids and those who just want to bowl for the heck of it. Not for serious bowlers.

This has go to be the worst bowling center I have ever been in! The lanes are in horrible condition, my ball got stuck repeatedly and the place is run down in general. The snack bar is actually good. What really turned me off was when I was eating on the counter and a woman who was bowling next to us decided to change her babies poop diaper on the counter right next to me. I guess she never heard of a bathroom before. Go to Leeward Bowl instead!

Two Words: FOODPOISONING. My daughter had her 8th BDay party there and we got some pizzas and fries for the guests. She was violently ill the next day and we called our friends who also said they too were sick, I figure the food is premade Costco type food so the issue is the food handlers and cleanliness. We called them to let them know and they apologized but tried to shirk the blame off, «we run through the food pretty fast». Got it… The bowling lanes are old and video games as well, Next Time it’s Pearl Harbor.

Been there many times and like the atmosphere. It’s ideal because it’s small and cozy when we go with the kids. The restrooms are clean, the snack shop is fast with the food. The Burgers and fries are great for a bowling alley. We checked in at 6:30 on and I noticed it was packed with lots of people. Looks like they had two kids birthday parties going on. The counter girl was pleasant and explained that there was a 2 hour wait for the lanes. She took my name and waited with the kids. We were expecting more friends to come. As we waited outside the sun was going down. The kids were so excited they didn’t mind waiting. They called my cell in an hour and said a lane opened up. Once inside the kids got their shoes and started their game. It was great. They had Karaōke on a big screen above the lanes. Some of the sinking a could do without cause they were intoxicated but it was all in good fun. The kids were dancing to the music. There were 4 military couples next to us. And they seemed to be having fun as well. As busy as it was, looking around the bowling alley… everyone in the place was smiling, laughing, and just having fun. We plan on going back again. Best place to go for a Saturday night Family Fun!

Good times here on a Friday. First off, the free shoe rental with Unilocal checkin, that is clutch. $ 4 per game is not bad at all. Snack bar was not at all insanely priced. Beers were $ 4 each. Nachos, grilled cheese sandwich and french fries all under $ 10 and were made fresh and hot and we devoured all of it! The shoe selection was rough and I had a hard time re-lacing the shoes because of the frayed lace. The ball selection was decent, I used a 9lb and a 10lb ball. I didn’t see any lighter ones. I also would of liked some dimmed lights and some fun music to take the energy up a bit. Karaōke would be weird here. Overall though, my husband and I had a great time and we will definitely come back and maybe even bring some friends!

If I could give no stars, I would. A friend and I were dying for some karaōke on our one night out. This place screams that they have it on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. When we came in, there were signs posted everywhere for it. I mean EVERYWHERE. We looked around puzzled… why is there no karaōke? Is there a room we are missing? How do they do it? We went up to the guy at the register and he was rather quick with us. I get that he was probably busy, but hey if you are advertising something, you need to come through. We walked around aimlessly for like 20 minutes! So finally this guy tells us they are still doing karaōke and rudely says«I just need to *mumble mumble mumble* first and then I’ll get it up.» We give him the benefit of the doubt… ok fine. At least it is still going on! We go to the snack station, which I guarantee you is just a bunch of crap they bought from costco in bulk and are trying to re sell to you for 4 times the price. So we had some crappy Mikes Hard Lemonades for what it probably would have cost us to buy an entire 6 pack and sat down and waited for karaōke. We waited an hour… it never started, and there were times the guy at the register was just standing there doing nothing. At 10:40, we finally got up and left. Screw this place! Find better workers and come through with what you advertise. I will be telling everyone I know not to come here.

The Barbers Point Bowling Center is a tribute to the old school days to relax and have a good time. I hosted my child’s birthday party here which was well received. The cost to reserve 3 lanes for 2 hours was only $ 96. They also provided me a few tables for my store bought cupcakes. Unfortunately, all food and beverages(except for cake) must be purchased from their snack bar. As for the facility, it wasn’t the state of the art but had all the necessary equipment to let the good times roll(literally!). Upon request, the staff can lift the bumpers in the gutter and there is a portable ramp for the kids to let the ball roll onto the alley. They also have leagues which can conflict when you want to bowl so be sure to call before making the trip. Shoe rentals are $ 2 and games are between $ 3 – 3.50. Located about 1.5 miles south from the H1, this place has 16 lanes to accommodate the beginners to the pros. So bowl your 300 game here!

Kids Grow Up in a Blink of an Eye! For the past months my oldest son has caused my heart to sink several times because of the words that have been coming out of his mouth. I know his intention is not to cause such pain, but bring me to reality that he is not a baby anymore. Statements such as, «I don’t want to cut my hair here any more it’s only for babies.» «Mom, that’s a baby nick name.» «This place has diaper mini people all over the place.» «Please don’t kiss me in front of my friends.» «Okay mom last hug, I gotta go!» So when his birthday came around and he asked for his birthday party to be at a bowling alley I was so excited. We both initially wanted it at Aiea Bowl for the good eats and cosmic bowling. But it was going to break my bank. We opted for Barbers Point Bowling, which I’m so glad that we did. I will admit the food is not comparable to The Alley but everything else was great for the price. Though there were several other parties going on the workers made sure we were well taken care of. We rented the private room, which was such a deal. It fits over 50 people for only $ 10 an hour. It has a flat screen t.v. that the men used to watch the football game that was playing that day. If no one rents the place before hand you can come in early to decorate the room. The only thing about the room is that they also use it as a storage. So there were all sorts of things that you could see in plain view. The Private Room We also had a gaming system from Mobile Systems that they graciously allowed. The gaming system needed electrical plugs and they had an area in the back that had ample room for it. A link to my review about this cool contraction: Food: You have to cater with the Prop Stop Snack Bar if you plan to have a party at this bowling alley. The only thing that your allowed to bring from outside is cake and ice cream. They offer to hold your ice cream and cake before hand. You have to order a week in advance before your party. Which I highly suggest doing because of the other parties and if you want your food at a certain time. You can tack on more food to your order when your there. I ordered… Platter A $ 54.99(Serves 20 – 25) A 16″ platter of Chicken Katsu, Teriyaki Chicken, Teriyaki Beef and Short Ribs. Served with two bowls of Katsu Sauce. I didn’t really care for the sauce that the short ribs were marinated in. But everything else that was offered on platter a was good. I only purchased one for the party and the guest didn’t finish it. Platter B $ 34.99(Serves 20 – 25) Choice of Four of the following items: Fries, Onion Rings, Cheese Sticks, Calamari Rings, Zing Dings, Popcorn Chicken, Wonton or Jalapeño Poppers. I tried all of the choices that are offered as a choice. I guess eating appetizers while your bowling is the best bet. The people at my party really really liked this platter that I had to order it 2 more times. Pizza 16″ Cheese $ 12.00 Just like any out of the box pizza. Of course the kids ate it up. Fried Noodles Fruit Platter You can choice up to 4 fruit of your choice. Drinks Its best to order your fountain drinks by the pitcher. They also sell domestic beer by the pitcher and Heineken by the bottle. Bowling: You can rent a bowling lane for $ 16 an hour. You can pay for your guests shoe rental for $ 2.25 or you can tell the front that they will pay for the shoe rental them self. Souvenir: They sold a bowling pin that everyone from the party could sign for a memento for my oldest son. Parking: Tons of free parking in front of the alley. Overall, I would suggest this place if you want to celebrate your child’s birthday. It’s a decent bowling alley. The staff here is very friendly, accommodating and attentive.
