It has been two years since a review has been done on this park by my friend, and fellow Unilocaler, Victoria A. I figured it’ll be me to do this justice with another review, 2 years after her’s. For me and mine, this is our favorite park. On the hot summer days when you just want to stay inside the house and you don’t want to go to the beach because you’ve been there lots and getting burnt, but want to feel the cool winds we come to Kapolei Community Park. It’s a good size parking lot and we usually just drive right in. However, sometimes it can get full when there are young sports going on. Street parking is available. You can also park across the street at the library and walk over. Looking at the park from the parking lot, the restroom facilities are small but adequate and should be infront of you or to your left. To the farther right is the children’s playground. To the left of the restrooms you’ll find a sidewalk path that will take you further back into the park. To the left of this path is several shady trees giving cover to well maintained, soft grass. This is where we like to place our big mat. Here I can easily take a nap letting the cool breeze lull me to sleep. For some reason, most times than not, there is a good strong wind blowing through here. It might have something to do with the buildings in the area and the hills. Whatever the reason, i’m able to relax. Once my short nap is completed. The options are now endless. G will play with his RC monster truck or helicopter, M will read, I may do that too, snack on the goodies we brought, fly kites, play board games, work with G on science projects or do some of his lessons with him, have eating contests, oh yes we do and they’re lots of fun even though G always wins. We’ll throw ball, play MTG, talk and plan things we want to do, eat some more and just have a fun relaxing day. It’s a very big park, with large wide open areas towards the back. You want to be careful if you go way in the back where activities can occur that may not be welcomed. Other than that, I feel very safe there and have come there many times on my own to read or work on projects. The summer is starting to come around the corner, you can find us there on most lazy days.

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Honolulu, HI
Imagine if you will… babysitting a super duper RaMBUNCTIOUS 7 year old boy who’s main vocabulary words consists of «why???» every other sentence. Couple that with two very settled dogs in the house and no other kids. Let me tell you — this scenario calls for the great outdoors to tire the young man’s spirit Not far from where is live is a a beautifully maintained community park that have spreading fields of neatly manicured grass and a CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND that rivals that of the Honolulu Zoo. The playground equipment is brand new and quite different from the ones of days old. It included a lopsided go-round, crooked monkey bars, slides, a hanging bridge and puzzles. All the equipment sits atop a beautiful child friendly turf that was padded and boo-boo proof! For the adults, there are several benches available as well as trees where you can picnic and still have an unobatructed view of your child on the playground. There is adequate and wide sidewalks for the children to ride their scooters, cars and skateboards safely. Parking was easy — noting street and specific lot for this venue. The only reason this review didn’t get a 5 star is because I did not see a bathroom. I’m sure there was one but I really wasn’t looking for one. Truly a hidden gem! We will be coming here often!
