Walmart

I could not be more disappointed with Kapolei Walmart’s service. I tend to enter through the garden section since majority of the items I would get are located near the garden. Upon entering the building, the lady who checks the receipts on the way out, stops me and asks if she can see in my purse (which is a regular purse… nothing suspicious in my opinion) and I told her no. She doesn’t respond to my puzzled face and I end up walking away, thinking that was the weirdest thing. The only thing I needed from Walmart was Burt’s Bee’s chapstick and a calculator I needed for school.
Walking towards the beauty section, I took the long way since Walmart employee’s large restocking wagons literally blocked aisle ways… um safety hazard! Looking in the lotion section and there was no chapstick, so I asked one of the employees that was restocking the area. She heard me ask politely if there was any Burt’s Bee’s chapstick in the cart, looked at me and looked down to continue to restock. I was like ok… be calm Laura, maybe she couldn’t speak English well. I start rummaging through one of the three filled carts in the aisle way and she pulls the cart away from me like I was a child getting scoldings for something I wasn’t supposed to touch.
At this point I’m about to loose it, so screw the chapstick I can get it at Longs. Next stop was the calculator. Same thing on the way there… all the friken carts were blocking the aisle ways. I get to the supplies aisle and what do you know… NO CALCULATOR either. No employee is around the area so I walk my happy butt to the technology section hoping someone could help me. Two people were working in the area, a younger girl helping a lady with her cell phone purchase and an older gentleman on his personal iPhone. I waited for a good several mins before he acknowledged my existence. When he asked if I needed help, I asked him if he could do an inventory check for me. He busts out a electric scanner device and asks me what the item was, I told him it was a calculator and said the model name. He responds by telling me, «What? Calculator? No, you have to go to stationary for that.» I tell him that no one was in the area. He ignores me halfway through my explanation to talk to another passing employee. After his brief conversation ends with the other employee he busts out his personal phone to look on the Walmart website for the calculator model. He shows me on the phone that Walmart doesn’t carry that calculator, even though I clearly saw the tag on the shelf.
After he is arguing with me whether or not Walmart Kapolei carries this model calculator, he agrees to walk over to the shelf with me several mins later. I show him the exact spot, he scans the tags and responds, «Nope, in transit.» I ask him what does that mean, and he goes, «Any day now» and just walks away. WTF?! I could not explain to you the epic rage that came over me after such crappy service from everyone I came into contact with. I ended up walking out 20 minutes later without anything that I came in for and pissed off more than usual.
Out of the 100+ Walmart’s that are closing nationwide, this Walmart should be one of them. That or get better service cause you lost my business.
If you don’t got time to read my rant this sums it up:
–can’t keep inventory/​things in stock/​empty shelves
–lower selection of items compared to other Walmarts
–really bad customer service
–safety hazards
–weird hours, they close at 1am because of shop lifting issues
–they lost my business for awhile

I usually don’t shop at Walmart but after tonight experience I’ll be back. Jon, the guy who works in the bike dept. is amazing! I have been such a pain and he has been so helpful with a constant smile on his face. He really made our night.

A few days ago I went into Walmart around 10 pm in search of a tv, I finally decided on splurging and getting a new tv.
I walked to the back where all the tv’s are and had a hard time deciding the guy Kyle, was a hoot ! So helpful and friendly.
But I’ve never experienced rude people at this Walmart everyone is nice and very helpful.
So glad this one is so close to my house.
Down side aid the time that they close, mostly cause I work late and sometimes I can only do things late at night and Safeway is farther of a drive then Walmart. But other then that it’s a clean and very well stocked place.

There were plenty of times I went to this Walmart the detector was picking up my games at GameStop that I bought the lady was swearing to me and she cheek my bag and never found anything!!! I thought their model was to make customers happy and the sales associate yell at and swear to me when I ask nicely do u have any ps4 controller in stock she said no and stick the middle finger at me .This visit was a horrible experience next time they stop I will demand they give me a free $ 60 item since they made me wait for the next bus which come every hour and need to transfer

The customer service here gets worst every time I go. I waited for help at the service desk in the sporting goods department for over 25 minutes. Normally, I would leave after 10 but I needed a key made and didn’t want to travel somewhere else to get it done. Another customer had already waited 20 minutes and gave up just as I had got there. After almost a half an hour someone came up and asked if I needed help, turns out they were out of the size key I needed. When I told the worker I waited over 25 minutes, he didn’t apologize, (also didn’t apologize for not having the size key I needed) he just said «yeah, no one’s here today» and walked off. I also called the store and talked to an assistant manager about what happened, I was told sorry, then rushed off the phone. I’m never going back to the Kapolei store again.

This place is a mess! But again, its Walmart I’m sure you’ve seen all the photos of Walmart shoppers on the internet. I think most of them came from here.

As much times I shop at Walmart for the first time I can actually compliment on how clean the isle looked and somewhat organized. I guess going early in the morning helps. 3 stars given much improvement still needs to be done. But it seems their heading in the right direction.

So today I got a call from Walmart after completing a survey regarding their store I was pleasantly surprised. She took time to introduce yourself and the reason why she was calling. She further stated that she was calling regarding the survey I had taken. She read me the details of my email and how they were going to change certain things that I had put down. I was honest in my email regarding the cleanliness of the store as well as the employees. Employees were awesome the store could use a little more upkeep specially in that Halloween area. I figured it was a little disorganized because of the actual season. Two thumbs up thanks Walmart for responding to me now I know my surveys to get read.

It’s Walmart!
Location/​Parking:
Walmart is located off Farrington Highway near the Freeway entrance/​exist. There is an abundance of parking.
Merchandise:
It has just about everything you can think of from cleaning supplies, baby necessities, electronics, groceries and etc.
Prices:
Prices are great!!! You will find the cheapest price here compared to its rivals.
Bathroom:
One of the bathrooms are always either closed or really filthy.
Cashiers:
There is always at least 3 cashiers working and the self checkout is usually available.
Overall, I do come to this Walmart more often than the Kunia Walmart because it’s convenient, new and spacious.

More like 3 ½ stars.
We go to this particular Walmart often as my children’s practice is in Kapolei. It’s clean and convenient. Great for parking and not too crowded. It’s hit or miss with the shelves being stocked.
I like this Walmart, but sometimes there can be shady looking people parked outside. That’s why they now are not 24 hours but close at midnight.

This Walmart is always out of stuff… all the time! It seems every time I go there are things I can’t get because the shelves aren’t stocked. Sometimes whole sections are gone with just a rag-​tag selection of product here and there. The other Walmarts don’t look this deserted in terms of product. I am thankful we have a Walmart in Kapolei, but geez…

Customer service needs some help. I didn’t ask one person for help but 2 people for help. They both gave me the same answer. This is how both conversation went.
Me: do u know wheres the shower curtains are?
Employees: they’re behind the wall
Not bad if it was really behind the wall but it wasn’t near it. Had to walk 4 more aisles down. Not bad if one of the employee walked with me and happily helped me find it when she still saw me trying to look for it but still she didn’t even do nothing. But it’s Walmart what do you expect right? What a morning. Lol.

I love my local Walmart because it’s never as chaotic as the one located on Keeamoku Street. I’m all about that new new… You know, limited release” or «limited edition» type of things. So, if there are new flavors of chips or Oreos I want to try, Walmart Kapolei is my best bet. I’ve always been lucky in snagging the latest and greatest in flavors. With that said, I knocked a star off because every time I’ve gone in there, there will only be one or two cashiers available at any given time. So if a customer is complaining and throwing a hissy fit about something, you better believe that you will be stuck there awkwardly waiting around. The checkout process is usually extremely slow. I personally do self-​checkout each time I’m there so I can get in and get out.

After our morning workout my husband insisted that we go to Kapolei Walmart to buy bagels. My mother-​in-​law buys Lenders bagels here and it’s one of the only places we know of that sells them.
Although I really try not to shop at Walmart because (other than its long lasting effects on our local economy) I’m extremely disappointed that they’ve skirted the plastic bag ban, I have to say that Walmart at 7am is a dream. It’s so clean and stocked full of mass produced products from China. Who’s the hypocrite? (Points to self) This girl.
I told my husband: «Babe, it’s like the entire world died from the plague and there’s just us left!»
My husband replied: «And we LIVE in a Walmart?!»
Me: «Well, where else will we get food and hide from the post apocalyptic zombies? Plus I can’t stop buying salty nori packs for $.99.»
We tried to check out and it was pretty backed up at the self check out stand. Alternatively there was only one regular check stand open but of course the in-​house McDonalds was firing on all cylinders. I fear for all of us.

First off and most important for me, I find the location of this Wal-​Mart very convenient for a bus catcher. I don’t have to worry about hiking up a hill which for some reason, I seem to be doing when trying to get to Pearl City, Kunia, or Mililani Wal-​Mart.
This Wal-Mart’s right off the main strip in Kapolei. The bus literally stops either beside it or across from it. It’s not just convenient for bus catchers but also for people who live on the west side, period.
Sadly though, I think that because this location serves a big demographic – all of the west coast from honokai hale to makaha and also kapolei and makakilo, it’s hard to keep everything stocked. I can never find the makeup I need or the brand of catfood that my cats like for that matter. Stuff I jeed just seems to always happen to be out.
A few times I’ve come across people who are clueless about where to find something but I really can’t blame them, I was asking mostly cashiers. Also, there’s no more specializing in departments anymore and there’s not as many associates on the floor since all of the Wal-​Marts cut their hours and staff and so they stopped having as many floor staff. Now one person is assigned to many areas. Lastly, there are multiple departments where similar items are stocked so al in all I can’t really blame workers when they don’t know where something is or make guesses.
Overall, the shopping experience has become a little bit more independent these days, though it makes sense to me. We’re moving away from the times of depending on people for menial things like pumping our gas or finding our groceries. I’m glad that people are forced to do some work and find stuff for themselves these days.
Personally, I’m sad that the craft section has gotten so small and there seem to be less products for each type of aisle, for example, the fake plants have been reduced to a small section, the vases used to have a whole half an aisle and those have been reduced also to a few shelves. There’s not as much fabric as there used to be and sewing patterns are completely gone.
All in all, this location feels a bit more spacious than the others, which I like; but I’m disappointed with items being out of stock more often than not and since I’m a bus catcher, I really want my trip to be worth it. On the plus side, I like the people that work here I think more than at the other walmarts so… my new opinion is 4 stars because the service and kind encounters improve my experience.

One star for being closest to Waianae.
One star for their big parking lot.
And one star for fast checkout lines and reasonable prices.
However I smashed the last two into one because I don’t want to go any higher than 3 stars lol. A lot of products take way too long to be restocked and more than half of the employees SHOW you that they don’t want to be there. Also somehow the bathrooms are always being closed for maintenance but maybe they just do that so customers don’t eff the bathrooms up and they have to clean it later who knows.

Walmart is usually the to go spot where I get everything, but today I called and by far the worst customer service. They didn’t know English, I kept getting transferred to the wrong section, and it seems like no one knows what a roof rack is.
Bad service…

Cheap prices, lots of parking, and fast check out… what is there not to like?!
Walmart has grown on me over the years. There used to be a time when you had to drive far away to get to a Walmart because there was none in town. Finally, the Keeaumoku location opened up which made me a fan.
Maybe it’s because I am part Chinese, but I love a good deal. Walmart is full of good deals!
This Walmart has a McDonald’s restaurant inside in case you are hungry or get hungry. They also have a hair cutting place, a vision center, and a garden center. I personally haven’t tried any of those because I have a favorite barber somewhere else, have a favorite eye doctor somewhere else, and don’t do any gardening.
When checking out I prefer using the self-​checkout. Lines are usually short there and the machines are easy to use and very fast.

Two great part of this Walmart location is that I don’t have to drive to Kunia and my bank is inside!
Bathrooms are terrible and the same stall has been broken for months.
It’s nice when employees come over when they see you searching for a product, but at times I feel like I need to search for an employee to get a product.
One good improvement was adding a nail salon, between the restroom and vision center.
But a Walmart is a Walmart, you get what you see. Hopefully things will improve, so I can bump up these stars. m

I usually walk down every single isle but not at this location, I want to be in and out asap!
This particular Wal-​Mart is very disappointing, from the bare shelves to lack of products carried at this location. Lackluster in appearance and feel. The employees aren’t very helpful, it feels as though they require more training or just to have management provide some enthusiasm.
The store looks vast and I believe it is supposed to be a «super center» but upon entrance you’ll see it is not. They should carry more products similar to the Keeaumoku or other locations. This would benefit all the residents on the West side. Honestly, it looks as though, this Wal-​Mart receives the unwanted items from the other locations.
You don’t see half empty chillers anywhere else (sigh).
This location could be great, since it is the only one in the «second city». Waiting for someone to take the reigns and make this place shine!
