Great placed to watch the game. OK bar food. Service is fair. But would not go they’re for dinner.

Very pricey overall, even for Katonah. The food was good and they give adequate portions, but spending close to $ 70 for lunch for 1 iced tea, 2 french onion soups, an appetizer of pulled pork quesadilla and a lunch sized cobb salad with shrimp is a little crazy to me. Service was friendly and attentive, but the prices were just crazy. They do offer some specials, like free wings on your birthday(as many as your age — up to a point), but it still doesn’t makeup for the pricing.

My wife and I moved from Pleasantville last year, we used to goto macarthur’s all the time, since their food and service was great, Oliver’s…well, we tried eating here at least six times, great looking place, but the service is horrible, and the food it’s just bad, sorry guys, but I’ll pass and drive back to macarthur’s

Ordered the nachos for lunch recently and they were an embarrassment. It was a giant pile of chips with cheese on it — no sauce, no beans, no jalapeños. It was like something a college student would slap together at home for a snack — I’ve never seen anything like that at a bar and grill. To make matters worse I ordered a side of guacamole(since it doesn’t come on the nachos) and when it arrived it is was clearly from a bag, not freshly made. Just gross. They should take nachos off the menu if they don’t want to put even minimal effort into the dish.

I should have stayed home if I wanted to make my own TV dinners. Oliver’s of Katonah was a last resort for dinner because most of the restaurants in the next town over had waits of over 90 minutes. I had been to this place once before and decided to give it another try… mostly just for the lava cake at the end. Upon entering, we were quickly greeted by the hostess, who, at the end of the night, turned out to be the only one paying to attention to anything the entire night. Fifteen minutes after being seated, our waiter, a tall middle aged man, came to take our drink order. Between my two friends and me, we had a beer, a cocktail and I settled for a water(because the huge full bar didn’t have anything to make a mojito with?). So our drinks come and more time passes. We had to ask the waiter if we could put in an order for appetizers, instead of him asking us if we’d, you know, like to eat… We ordered three apps: baked cheese potato, macaroni bites, and the goat cheese quesadilla which he misheard, so we politely corrected him but he was already in the middle of walking away. So our apps get to the table and two are right — one is wrong. We didn’t want to make a fuss, so we ate it. Unfortunately, these apps were most likely bought from a grocery store. The macaroni bites were Trader Joe’s brand, the artichoke dip(which he thought we said) was probably from the freezer section of the old A&P next door. Our potatoes seemed to be fresh and were delicious. Again, when he came to see if we needed refills on drinks, which we did, we asked if we could, somehow, possibly, order entrees — if he had time or the desire to take that order, of course. We ordered a giant salad, which was delicious and fresh, and a thin crust mushroom pizza. If you like fresh mushrooms on your pizza, don’t get them from here. They’re canned and I’m pretty certain the dough/crust is just like the store-bought macaroni bites. A second order of drinks came right after the entrees, one of which was wrong(a Corona instead of a Coors). A simple mistake, we thought. He didn’t take it back. Instead, he pushed it in front of me telling the table I’d drink it. I was fine with my water. I don’t drink beer, I can’t even stand the smell of it. So I pushed it away after he left and we ate up. He came back one time to check on us because we seemed finished, which we were. Again, we had to ask if we could order. This time it was dessert. Finally, the highlight of my night. LAVACAKE. My friends wanted dessert too, but this restaurant doesn’t have a dessert menu you can read. It’s on a miniature chalkboard on the wall at the other end of the restaurant. After our waiter tried to recall what was on the menu, we all decided on the lava cake. Once he brought that to our table, he took the beer away that he was so sure I would drink. We didn’t see our waiter for the rest of the night. Well, we saw him from a distance. He was sitting at the bar and it looked like he was sipping on the beer he set in front of me earlier. Drinking on the job? Was he off he shift? No one knew. I’m not sure if he knew. Just under half an hour goes by and this angel from heaven, someone who worked there and probably wanted us to leave because it was getting late, asked if there was anything she could do for us. We nicely asked for our check. She brought it quickly and politely along with a promotional Green Envelope to bring with us for the next visit(inside of which is a coupon of 5%-75% off which your server would need to open). We pay, bite our tongue and decide to give the waiter a a 20% tip(because we need good karma) and exit the building. The freezing air outside matched the temperature inside of where we just were(gusts of wind would blow our napkins and give us goosebumps whenever the door opened). Knowing we wouldn’t be back to eat those microwavable appetizers and freezer aisle entrees, we opened the Green Envelope. Had we decided to go back, we would have saved 50%. I’d rather spend the full 100% somewhere else, even if I need to wait 90 minutes for a seat at a restaurant down the street.

Pretty good bar in Katonah with good food and a nice atmosphere. I think they’re a little pricey, but you’re in a fairly pricey area so I’m not all that surprised. I believe they do trivia which looks pretty fun and I know that a lot of Pepsi employees used to go here after work. Now that Pepsi moved out of Somers I don’t know how lively this place is anymore, but I’m sure they still draw a decent crowd. The turkey burgers are pretty good here, but the wings are impressive. Some of the best I’ve had in the area and maybe the second best behind The Blazer Pub. More of a mature crowd for sure.

I live in the area and i wish i could bring myself to go here more, but i just can’t justify the prices. They are way out of line in my opinion. I love wings and eat them all over, but $ 14.50 for 12 wings that are good … but definitely not great is insane. The other dishes are also on the high side for the food you get. I would rather go to a nicer restaurant where i would actually get better food and pay less. I don’t know who decided on these prices but they are out of line … even for this area. come on …

Worst dinning experience! you could not pay my family to step foot in there again. Born and raised in Katonah, so believe me when I say… we were very offended by the lack of integrity and respect on the behalf of the restaurant. Rude people cheap food dirty bar. Definitely do not recommend!

We went last night because we had received a coupon via email from Oliver’s two days before for 2 for 1 burgers. We had stopped frequenting this restaurant since the prices were way out of line with the nature of the place. When we received the check, we presented the coupon to the waiter. At this point he informed us that they were no longer accepting the coupons(which we had just received and which had an expiration date of 12/19/15.) He said that there was a sign at the front and in THERESTROOMS(!!!) stating that they were no longer accepting coupons. After a visit to front to see the sign and determining that it was not there, he still refused the coupon. We requested to speak with a manager. Instead he brought over the BARTENDER!!! As things began to escalate, we decided to pay the bill and leave. Upon returning home, we double checked to make sure the coupon actually came from them. It did. What is there to say about a place that invites you to come under false pretenses? We will not be going back and we suggest that you steer clear as well.

Went three times. Each time the food was good, although a tad expensive, so was the atmosphere, but the service was painfully slow. Not going back.

I’ve had good experiences and bad ones. The food is great(the wings could improve but not bad) but one of the servers, an older gentleman, is very very rude. I always leave if he is there because I don’t want him to be rude to me again.

My wife and I chose this restaurant based on our enjoyable evening at their sister place in Pleasantville, MacArthur’s American Grille. Our meal there had been exceptional, with superior service. Unfortunately, Oliver’s didn’t live up to expectations. Oh, the food was fine; we were there on steak night, and each had a nice strip steak with the fixings: nice cut, cooked as ordered. We also had onion rings, which were excellent. But the service was very poor. No refills of our drinks, the onion rings arrived concurrently with the steaks, and the waitress disappeared for most of the time we were there. And it wasn’t just our server: other diners also were complaining about the service. So, the nutshell: good food, poor service, slightly overpriced.

Casual environment with many screens showing sports, music videos, and news. Regular pub food. Big portions. Waitress informed us of the big portions so we ordered a half size salad and even that was too much for the Mrs. I had a nice juicy burger with jalapenos and it hit the spot.

We used to LOVE this place… but they have unfortunately gone downhill and raised prices — two things that don’t go well together. We used to rave about their wings, would bring friends from out of town to try them! We went this past week and were thoroughly unimpressed. The meat was chewy, the sauce tasted odd and the wings basically fell apart when you tried to hold them. I was going to order a burger(an old favorite they recently added back to the menu), but was deterred by the new $ 17 price tag! We ended up ordering the 12 wings and an order of macaroni & cheese bites with one iced tea, and the bill was about $ 32. We were disappointed, because as I said before, this used to be one of our go-to spots! The young man who sat us was very pleasant, the server was okay(when he breezed by)… Hopefully things turn around and improve; perhaps our experience was a fluke…

Great casual atmosphere well lit lots of TVs very nice server. Hostess was distracted could have been friendlier. Potato skins were solid, nachos very average but very generous portion. A little pricey for what it is though. Would definitely go back especially with a group.

This is a tired looking place and the food quality is as well. Dinner with a friend and we shared a pulled pork Quesadilla that was served with salsa and coarsely chopped lettuce. The appetizer wasn’t good. Then a bacon cheese burger for dinner. Overcooked and not good quality. I will not be returning to this establishment.

Oliver’s is a good local pub with great food and drinks. The atmosphere is casual and friendly as well as family friendly. The redone space is classy yet relaxed. This is the place to go if you want a relaxing night out with friends or want to bring your kids for a bite.

The food is usually consistent but uninspired. The service on the other hand is always consistent…, bad. I’ve been here many times and the service is always slow and inattentive. They are friendly enough, but if I wanted friendly I would have stayed home with my dog.

Went to Oliver’s with the family to watch the NY Rangers game tonight and have dinner. We sat in the dining area which was mostly empty, and almost all of the TVs were on the same football game(there are about 10 of them, everywhere). We asked if they would put the Rangers game on one of them so we could watch it over dinner. The waiter tried to change the channel for us, and did, but the manager quickly ran over and switched it back. This happened twice. We then asked for the manager to come over to discuss, at which point the manager insisted that the TV’s stay on the football game — even though every other TV in the place already had that game on. We told him that we came there specifically to watch the Rangers game and have dinner, and that we would have to leave if he would not put it on. He could not have cared less — and so, now, neither do we. We left. We will not be back. Their loss.

In on an early Sunday with another couple, and the overall experience was mixed. On the plus side, the food was pretty good — better than I expected in fact. We worked through some appetizers — loaded potato skins which were not greasy tasty and not greasy, and a chicken quesadilla, which was fresh and served with a diced salad, salsa and sour cream. We all had drinks — a marguerite, rum and coke and a martini — all were solid. For entrees, I had the chicken burger(fresh ground in house) onion rings and fries(they offered a little of each), while the rest of the table ate their way through a huge Cobb salad, a grilled shrimp salad and a turkey panani(which was happily served in a whole what wrap instead of bread). Our waiter was friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed our visit. There were clearly some areas for improvement — incorrect drinks were served twice, overall service was slow, and while the onion rings were crisp and a big hit, the soggy fries left much to be desired. On balance, OK for a meeting spot with friends or for an afternoon watching sports.
