This is not your typical fix-it place. It’s hard to find a place to trust. I’ve taken my gadgets to other places before — quoted one thing, then later told the problem is worse and it would cost more. Classic scam. But not here. These guys are very honest. They opened up my ipad while I was there and told me exactly what the problem was — how much it would be — and when to pick it up. There were no surprises. I got a great price and the ipad is as good as new. Will definitely be back.

There are so many places around that provide poor service that when you find one which is exceptionally good, you feel compelled to write about it. First, it’s just the right thing to do and second, you hope that would play a small part in keeping them in business and thrive for the good of all customers. One such place is Cell N Trade. A few months ago, I had my iPhone battery replaced at another outfit. It acted up right away so I went back and they put another one in which was not any better. The«new» battery drained out even faster than the original 3-year-old battery(which I thought was already bad enough to be replaced.) A week ago, it suddenly died in the middle of an important phone call(some 4 hours after being fully charged.) That was the last straw. I needed a new battery. Based on my last bad experience, I was very gun-shy about replacement iPhone batteries, but right from the first phone call to Cell N Trade, the manager, Nick, was very professional, articulate and knowledgeable. When I got there, it was not one of those dingy hole-in-the-wall cell phone repair shops but a big, bright store with a whole array of cell phone supplies. The battery was replaced so fast, within a few minutes as I stood there waiting and chatting with Nick. It has a 30-day warranty and the price was very reasonable. The battery has been doing well, at this moment still holding plenty of power, more than 24 hours after it was last charged. Now I know where to go for all cell phone needs for me and my family(and best of all, the place is only 1.9 miles from my home!!)

The owner helped me cut my micro sim to a nano sim, free of charge. Great service!

Not the best place to buy phones. Over priced. He sells a phone BLU for $ 279 which can be bought in the market for $ 125. Do your search and research before you pay for a product. No returns or exchanges accepted.

Had my iPad Air screen repaired; it was quick(a couple of hrs) they had the part on hand. Didn’t seem real friendly when I actually brought it in after we spoke on the phone they proceeded to tell me that I didn’t tell them it was an IPad Air(which I did) but that I said it was an iPad 2 and it would now cost more. When it was repaired the screen sat a little higher than it had and the home screen button was loose. I didn’t think much of it until I cracked the screen again, my fault not theirs but I took it to another place and the screen is flush & the home screen button is tight like it originally was. They were also much friendlier and cheaper.

DONOTGOHERE. Not trustworthy. My story: I broke my screen and took it in to Cell n Trade to get it fixed. The man behind the counter asked me if I wanted a screen protector on it and I said yes, but he didn’t explain anything about it besides that it was really good. So a week goes by and my son drops my phone on the tile and the screen cracked again. I lived with it a few days and then took it back because the man had said there was a 30 day warranty and I thought there might be a slim chance they would replace it since it had only be a week or so. So I went and told him I had broken it but since it was within warranty I thought maybe it was covered. He took my phone and was looking it over and said«oh, so you broke it again? Right? Well I can’t replace the screen if YOU broke it, only if it’s defective. It’ll be $ 80 to replace, but I can do it right now». I told him I couldn’t do it that day but Id be back. He said«are you sure? I can replace it now.» but I didn’t want to spend $ 80 so I left and told him Id come back later. Well, yesterday I got to talking to a friend about how I broke my screen and they asked if id ever tried glass screen protectors, that they are great. I had never heard or seen anything like this but the conversation made me take a look at my phone later and I very quickly realized I HADNT broke my screen at all, only the glass screen protector. It peeled right off, very easily and my screen is FINE. Moral of the story: This company wanted to charge me $ 80 for a screen replacement when he saw that it was just the screen protector that had cracked. Very shady. They will not be getting my business from here on out, and I will be telling friends.

We took my son’s iPhone in to find out why it wasn’t charging. They changed the battery, but then noticed it wasn’t charged as much as it should be, so they checked the charging port. That was the problem so they fixed that and put the old good battery back in and didn’t try to sell us a new one that didn’t need. The service was great and we were very impressed.

The Basics: They had the part on hand, did the work while I waited, were cheaper than anyone else that I called(in some cases, significantly cheaper), no attempts at up-selling, & they did a good job with quality parts. The Details: Broke the screen on my Lg G4. Tiny pieces of the glass kept falling out & the light sensor was obscured by the crack so the phone was a pain to use. I have insurance, but was not thrilled at the idea of sending my brand new phone in and getting someones problem child refurb. Looked online & found replacement part for $ 70-$ 80, but was not keen on waiting a week to get the part when I couldn’t even properly hang up the phone at the end of a call without taking the battery. Called around to 4 places in Katy area, some where quoting $ 300& would have to order the part… wtf. Cell N Trade was by far the cheapest & had the part on hand. The sell the part for $ 89 if you want to do the swap yourself(Lg G4 is actually supposed to be relatively easy), but for $ 135(before taxes) they did it for me in about 45 min(with taxes it was the same price as my insurance deductible). The guy who owns the place was very nice. He can do apple products himself, but has a tech for the other brands. The tech is apparently not in on weekends & is only there till 6 during the week(they close at 7). However, they were nice enough to have the tech hang around(I could not get there till 6) and fix it when I showed up. They do advertise that they can supply loaner phones, I did not take advantage of that, but did see him give a loaner to another customer who’s fix was not going to possible that day. FYI: They also do computer repairs. They do have cases and chargers for sale, although it does look like they are more apple centric. They have a selection of used tablets and phones for sale.

I purchased the Groupon since I smashed my poor phone to smithereens. I brought it in to them at 6:15 p.m. and by 6:40 p.m. I was on my way with a good-as-new phone! They were helpful, speedy, and very nice! Would recommend it to anyone!

I’m surprised to see any negative reviews. I purchased a Groupon to replace my(severely) cracked screen for my iPhone 5s. To be honest my screen needed to be replaced a long time ago(8 months approximately), but I just found to many excuses as to why I couldn’t part with my phone(first world problems). I imagined it would take at least a day to replace if not more. When I called them, they informed me that it would take a maximum of two hours. Before I had any other second thoughts, I jumped in my car and told them I would be there in 10 minutes. They in fact did stick to the two hour timeframe, and my phone looks as good as new! I’m so happy I went in, and they were really nice and great to work with.
