I just fired Chem-Tech for my quarterly preventive pest control. The very same chemical Chem-Tech uses(Onslaught) can be purchased online and all you need is a $ 10 one-gallon pump up sprayer from Home Depot. Just google«do your own pest control.» There are«how to» videos on youtube. Last visit, I followed the Chem-Tech guy around and watched what he did which was very little. He applied 1.5 quarts of Onslaught Insecticide as noted on the invoice. The Chem-Tech invoice has a section where the chemicals they apply are listed. No other chemicals were listed on the invoice. His entire visit was less than 15 minutes and the cost of service was around $ 92 including tax. That’s $ 368 a year! Quarterly pest control is not rocket science. On the invoice, Chem-Tech reported to have used 1.5 gallons of ready-to-use Onslaught solution. Onslaught is sold online for $ 47.95 for a 16 oz bottle of concentrate. For general use, it is mixed 0.5 oz/gallon of water. For heavy duty use, 1 oz/gallon. Lets say that if Chem-Tech mixed it extra strong at 1 oz/gallon(I doubt they did), then Chem-Tech applied $ 3.50 worth of chemical. If they diluted it at the weaker dilution, they applied $ 1.75 worth of chemical. So basically Chem-Tech has the balls to charge people $ 92 on a quarterly basis to apply $ 3.50 worth of chemical on a quarterly basis! That’s insane! Consumers can get the same chemicals online with free shipping for $ 3.50 per quarterly treatment. This review only applies to the narrow scope of quarterly preventitive treatments.
