Choice ER

My husband cut his finger on a saw so we decided to just run over to Choice ER to get it fixed up. The Doc ended up giving my husband 3 stitches on his ring finger. That’s it. We were there for maybe 30 minutes. A week later the wound was healed and my husband took out his own stitches. Yesterday we got the bill from Choice ER…$ 1,990 for 3 stitches. We should’ve mown better. There goes our HSA account.

I took my wife there yesterday. We had been there a few times before. My wife is scheduled to have a shunt put in her head in a few weeks for a conditions called psudotumor. She gets the massive headaches that get so bad that she is throwing up. The first two times there we had a very nice doctor that took care of her very well. However this last time she was treated terrible. The doctor came in and evaluated her gave her some meds and 20 minutes later the nurse came in and said she whas being discharged. Her pain levels were still ⁸⁄₁₀. They treated her like she was a drug addict even though we brought all her paper work note from the neurologist and appt. card showing that she is to have surgery at the med center next Wed. I doubt we will ever be back to this ER

THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL SCAM! $ 1000 just to see a doctor for 5 minutes.
I was told it would be a $ 100 to see a doctor and now I’m looking at a bill for $ 1000 for a 5 minute consult.

DO NOT GO TO CHOICE ER! I have a similar experience to the other reviews on this site. My son had a few x-​rays to see if his foot was broken. It was not. We were at Choice ER for about an hour. I paid $ 150 as a co-​pay which the receptionists said should amply cover any portion that I needed to pay and that they would reimburse me if I had overpaid. One month later, I get two bills totaling $ 650 after my insurance (UHC) has already paid. The total of the two bills is over $ 2,000. I attempt to call the billing department and «Rick» is unavailable. I leave a voice message and he never returns my call. Then I go in person to Choice ER to discuss the bill and they said they would have «Rick» contact me. One week later and I still have received no communication from anyone from Choice ER.
This business is acting without conscience.

Not so surprised to finally recieve our bill and find Choice ER is billing me more than the allowed! My insurance says I owe my co-​pay $ 150.00 plus co-​insurance around $ 180.00 but Choice ER sent me a bill for over $ 550.00!

Bottom line, fast, competent and clean. In and out in under 1 hour including x-​rays.
My daughter came home from school Friday afternoon with a blue and swollen finger. I wasn’t looking forward to the crowded Sugar Land ERs on Friday afternoon. We drove the 20 minutes to Katy on a friend’s recommendation and it was worth it. Helpful staff, kid-​friendly, clean waiting room (with free water and coffee), and best of all, a staff that is fast and competent. The staff was great with my 7 year old daughter and the doctor took the time to explain to us exactly what was going on.
No one likes going to the ER, but if you have an emergency, Choice ER is the place to go.
