This place is pretty good, my family enjoys the Chinese food at this place and compared to others this place is 3 times better, the portions are big, the staff is friendly, and if the order isn’t done correctly they don’t mind fixing it, today I ordered Kung Po chicken which was really good and not too spicy, orange chicken and house fried rice with snow peas and bean sprouts added to it, plus chicken lo mein, I like that they don’t add a lot of soy sauce to the fried rice or on the lo mein, that way ppl can adjust it themselves. And two pork egg rolls and spring rolls. Overall the food was great and i didn’t have to wait too long about 15 min. Will continue to come again.

Good stuff First time here, great service. The portions size was a little small on two of my entrees. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.

Usually our local go-to spot, but last weekend food was not their best. Schezuan beef, my usual fave: beef was too chewy, not tender and fried rice was bland.

A year ago I would have given this place four stars. In the last six months we have ordered delivery from here probably 6 times. It is very inconsistent. It is almost like they have two chefs one of which is good and one who just doesn’t care. Schechuan beef has been part of our order the last 4 times we ordered and The first time it was the best I ever had, second time it just was just spicy with not real flavor, third time it was good, and last time it just tasted burnt and spicy again no real flavor. The beefsticks are the same one time they are almost raw, the next perfect and the last time like leather. Some times the fried rice is good with lots of egg and rice is perfect, next time rice is undercooked(almost crunchy) and no egg to speak of. Basically, it will either be a 4 star or a 2 star experience depends on who is cooking I guess. The delivery is always fast.

Standard Houston Chinese… fast delivery, decent prices, big portions. The fried rice is incredibly boring and bland for my taste compared to other area choices and the sweet and sour chicken can be too greasy. My husband is consistently please with the sesame chicken but the eggrolls are unimpressive and I got food poisoning once from here. This is an acceptable«go to» place when you are beat from work and just want someone to BRING you food. If China Cottage delieved, this place would never see another dollar from me. I gave them 3 stars because my husband likes the food, the prices are fair, you get free items based on how much you order for your delivery, and the delivery is FAST!

I have been a customer for nearly 5 years. Food is consistent and that’s what I want from a restaurant. We get delivery a lot when we have guests.

Love it here! Great owners also! The portions are huge and the food is also consistent. My hubby and I get delivery sometimes. Yes there is a charge but the convenience of having yummy hot Chinese food at my door is well worth the fee!

I was craving Chinese food, but I thought I would try something different from my tried & true Katy place that has cottage in the name. Found myself at Hong Kong Café. Standard Chinese fare listed on the menu; I ordered an egg roll and a shrimp dish. The best things I can say are that the people there were pleasant enough and the food wasn’t terrible. But it was incredibly bland & just not worth stopping there again. There are too many alternatives in the area.

Costumer service is friendly squared. I am a sucker for an establishment that makes you feel as though your business is wanted. They were very patient with my menu browsing and suggested many things for me to possibly buy. They also were very forthright about what menu items were the most popular. The person at the counter did not know about the Unilocal special to whereas you can spend $ 5 for $ 10 worth of food, but they did not give me an ounce of grief on my redemption. The pricing is pretty fair, so the Unilocal deal made the purchase that much sweeter. Once I did select my food items, they gave me a timeline to wait for the food and ensured me that all their food items were fresh, and they never sale frozen meat or prepare their food with such. They were fulfilling another order and asked if I would like to try a sample while I waited for my food… umm…4th star just was earned people! The hostesses turned her attention to a couple that walked through the doors and immediately called them by name and asked if they wanted their regular order. Good thing about that is you know they have repeat business, and they make sure to personalize their service. You are more than just another wallet walking through their doors. I think because I am silly, this scenario amused me a lot. I asked to view the restrooms while I waited, and found they placed a urinal a mere 4 feet in front of the toilet in the restroom! You better have a real good relationship with the person you share those facilities if you have to do a number one while they have to do a number two, or vice versa! Nothing says«I trust you a lot» like experience a dump of someone in close quarters! I didn’t go too exotic with my order, so I had fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and the house special fried rice. The house special fried rice is pretty much all the basic meats inside the rice. As an omnivore with carnivore inclinations, this rice pleases me. All in all, this is decent tasting food. The ingredients are obviously fresh, and they took their time fixing the food. This is your normal Houston based Chinese food, but think about it tastings a lot fresher than normal. This is a place worth trying. They even offer smoothies and have lunch specials. Take a look at the website and you can see they also offer two delivery specials as well. All in all, a good place to get decent tasting food and decent pricing, but great service. I think it also helps that they are not skimpy with portions!

Terrible! We were visiting family in the area and stopped by. The food was terrible. Since the store sign says«Hong Kong Café Chinese Cuisine and Seafood», I thought it would be okay to order an item with seafood from the Chef’s special. Everything was not fresh and fishy. Thank goodness I did not get sick. It was disgusting. I want to throw up every time we drive by this place. Yuck.

The Hot and Sour soup was very good. The portions were large especially for a lunchtime meal. The prices were very good for what you received. A egg roll, soup, main course with rice.(steamed or fried your choice. My wife had the spicy checken which she really enjoyed. I had the spicy pork, it too was good but really not very spicy. Our server was pleasent and attentive. We’ll be back.

Always consistent good food quality and service. One of our favorites for Chinese food. Love the way you can customize orders(such as ordering the Gen Tso chicken and adding vegetables!). All around good!

Average Americanized Chinese food, big portions for the price, great service. The dumplings disappointed me with their thick, doughy casing and bland meat fillings and the entrees were exactly what I expected, not bad but not fantastic either. I don’t know what the Chinese food scene in Katy is really like, but if this were in metro-Denver I would rank it in the bottom third.

This has to be my favorite Chinese restaurant that is close to home. When you order take-out food there the service over the phone and in person is friendly. When you go to pick it up it is waiting for you; HOT, Fresh, and fast service. When you deliver it takes a little longer, but I’m sure the overall time of driving to the restaurant, picking up your food, and driving back home isn’t any different that having them deliver; fast service and a nice and friendly delivery driver. Due to the accent it can be hard to understand at times over the phone, but you work through it. You get PLENTY of food for the price. The larger fried egg rolls I think are the same ones that I buy at Sam’s… so if you want to save on cost go by the egg rolls at Sam’s. Although, the free egg rolls on delivery orders I think they make in house… but I’m not sure(still very good). ALLANDALL, this is a nice restaurant. It’s great for on the go, quick food decisions.
