Let me open by saying that Eddie is a wizard. With no sarcasm, the best haircut I’ve ever had came from this man and he gave me confidence to do layers again after too many bad experiences.
But when it came time to style my hair for my wedding and bridal portraits, he balked at the extra hoops his team would have to jump through. I really needed some extra help, like sending a stylist to the venue and having a special appointment for my bridal portrait outside normal hours, but both of those were apparently too big an ask. Instead of saying «Sure, but it’ll cost you extra,» I got, «We’ll lose a lot of business if we do that.» I ended up finding a different place that not only jumped through the hoops without question, but did it cheaper.
If you live in the area I do seriously recommend this place for normal haircuts, just be aware of this attitude before you hire them for a major event.

Breaking up with a long term barber/​stylist is as difficult to me as breaking off a long term relationship. I was relocated from Buckhead Atlanta to Houston Texas Recently and I lost the barber who I trusted to make sure I looked best to conduct business during the week with clients, and to look my best for my fiancé and family. I didn’t think I would ever find someone who had the skills and the keen eye to provide the top tier service I was accustomed to in Atlanta… I was wrong.
I found STUDIO 99, and the man who makes it the place it is, Eddie. He is truly a craftsman. He is so skilled that I can walk in and not say a word, and let him cut my hair how he knows it should be cut to have me looking my best. He is fast, but never rushes, he is careful and precise, yet never wastes your time or his. If you are looking for top tier service from a true craftsman, go to STUDIO 99, and go see how good you can look with Eddie at the wheel.
As far as the facility, it is clean, modern and hip. Chairs are not bunched together and there are never used towels lying around. It looks as good as you will after you leave your appointment.

They fit me in with super late notice. Kayla was my hair dresser and she was such a sweetheart. I love my new hair cut. Before her cut she asked me a few questions about my hair to get to know it, lols! But it paid off because she’s literally the only person that has every blow dried my bangs correctly. Pricing was very decent too!

I noticed that this place was nearby and had good reviews, so I decided to call and get a quote on the service I wanted (the website they have on here doesn’t work, so I couldn’t find any prices ahead of time) and I let the receptionist know I had dark brown hair, medium length hair, wanting to go light brown with a chance of possible full blonde highlights, and the receptionist quoted me $ 60-​$ 120 MAX!
I thought that was a fair price, and when I arrived and spoke to the lady who was doing my hair (Mikena or something along that) I told her that my overall goal (after a couple of sessions) was to be ASH BLONDE.
She told me that she would be able to get me from dark brown to ash blonde (or very close to) IN ONE SESSION, so of course, I was ecstatic and I decided to trust her since she said she had 8 years of salon experience and she seemed very sweet.
After talking more about what I wanted, she said it would be 80.00 dollars for a bleach +10 dollars per each other tub of bleach she had to mix for my thick hair (she did 3, so that equals to 110.00 so far) and a 15.00 dollar toner (125.00 so far) and when all was said and done, I ended up with 3 different shades (light blonde, golden orange, and light brown!!!) in my hair, and I told her I didn’t like that my roots were so different and not blended with the other 2 colors in my hair, so she decided to charge me ANOTHER 15.00 dollars to put toner in JUST my root area to tone down the golden orange (145.00 total so far) and then when I asked her what my total would be after she put that toner in, she said it would be 245.00!!!
$ 245.00 dollars!!!
Did I mention yet that she said $ 245.00?!
How did it go from 145 to 245?!
I asked the receptionist beforehand when I called ahead whether they charge for shampoos, and she sounded unsure, and then just said that they offer shampooing, so I have no idea where that 245.00 came from, and there was no breakdown of it when I asked her.
I let her know what the receptionist quoted me, and then she STILL charged me more than that!
I totally understand that going from dark brown to blonde is a process, (and that it turns orange before you tone it, but my roots stayed orange even after the toner) and that she tried to work with me to make me satisfied, but she didn’t fully listen to what I wanted fixed and she still charged me for the second corrective toner and who knows what else that would have equaled 245.00
In the end, after a few back and forths, she dropped it down and I was charged 180.00 for the services.
I told the owner I was uneasy/​unsure with the result of the color, and he just offered me a free shampoo and blow dry for next time instead of a partial refund or credit or apology (ANY OF THOSE WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE!)
The staff (ESPECIALLY the owner) were very sweet, and I’m sure the lady meant well but next time, I’ll make sure to go to a salon that has a working website WITH quotes.

Love this place! So glad I found it! Being new to Houston/​Katy and being a hairstylist myself I was worried about finding someone to do my hair. Eddie was amazing! He gave me an awesome haircut and he’s so fast. His salon is gorgeous and so trendy! He made me feel right at home I finally found my new hairstylist and I will definitely be back. Being in the business for over 10 years myself I know what a good haircut is and the cut I got from Eddie is the best!

I just got my hair cut by Jose and he did great. Very nice and professional guy. I really needed a good place close to my house here in Katy/​Richmond and I am very happy because I think I finally found it. I met Eddie the owner while he was doing a ladies hair and he was very nice person as well. 5 stars guys…

Went here today for a new ‘do, and I am very happy with my experience and the results! Jackie did my color; she was great! She was super friendly and she miraculously matched my existing color. Rachel cut my hair, and I loved her! So sweet and friendly, and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I have really thick hair, and she did a great job thinning it out, and then cutting it beautifully. I love it!
As for the salon itself, it kinda feels like a dance club… the lighting is a little bit darker, there’s dance music, etc. This was fine for me but I can see how not everyone would appreciate it. BUT the chairs at the hair-​washing station were sooo comfy, haha! (They can be so painful at some places!)
Overall I was very pleased with the salon. I will probably come back again soon!

My friend and I came here recently for haircuts. She went first and I backed out after seeing the haircut she got. After reading so many good reviews we were so excited to try this place out! But she definitely did not get what she wanted. It was an awful haircut for so much money. SO glad they didn’t get a chance to mess my hair up!

I went in to get a haircut and left with a makeover! Emily did a phenomenal job with my hair, and she’s super fun! I was quite nervous but she helped me get over that feeling. She also styled my hair and it was super cute! She’s awesome, there are only a handful of people you can trust with your hair!

Emily gave me the best highlights! It has taken me over a year to find a stylist since moving to Katy and now I couldn’t be happier.

I finally got tired of the generic, $ 15, haircut. So, I splurged. And now I’m sold.
Eddie, the owner, has cut my hair several times as have other members of the staff. I’ve never had a bad cut. I turn them loose to do what they want and it comes out excellent every time. Everything from phone etiquette, greeting you when you walk in, and the conversation makes you truly feel valued.
Katy needed a place like this: with the Fireball flowing, the music pumping, and clippers buzzing, I’ll never go anywhere else.

This is my second time with Jackie highlighting my hair, and my third time with Jose cutting it. EXCELLENT!
I was a hairstylists for over 10 years and know good technique when I see it — Jackie and Jose are it!

My daughter and I both needed color and trims. We have tried a few places in Katy but have not been fully satisfied when leaving. I trusted Unilocal once again and it delivered!
My daughter was a brunette and wanted to bleach her hair completely. She was fortunate to get an appointment with Chelsea and Eddie. Chelsea is a perfectionist and when the color was not exactly what we wanted, she knew it and quickly made a few adjustments. My daughter’s color is exactly what she wanted and has been receiving compliments from strangers for the past 24 hours! Once the color was done, her hair was cut by Eddie. I enjoyed just watching him cut her hair. It was live art! He also cut her hair perfectly with a quick one minute chat about her style. She is so happy!
I had an appointment with Rachel. I just needed an all over color and a few more long layers. Since I was a new customer, she was very cautious to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. The color and cut is great!

Wow can I say wow again! Rachel did an amazing job on my color and cut! I feel amazing! I will definitely be back!

Eddie cut my hair and it was beautiful! I told him he can cut my hair however he wanted and I was blown away by how fantastic it came out! Also had a very skilled and knowledgeable color stylist, Chelsea. I was amazed with the color and the ombré.
Update —
Came back a year later and told the new stylist that two months after Chelsea colored my hair it ended up looking very streaky. I requested balayage and another cut from Eddie. $ 300 later I left with even blonde balayage but this time it only took a month for it to become even streaker looking than the first time. I feel like for $ 300 my hair should’ve been gorgeous and paste at much longer. The cut Eddie provided was just more layers. Nothing fancy, definitely not worth $ 300. Over priced. Way over priced.

After moving to Katy I was worried about finding a new hair stylist. I actually found Studio 99 on Unilocal.This will be my new place! The atmosphere is very fresh and the hairstylists are very knowledgable and friendly.
My color and cut is awesome! The stylists are truly artists and love what they do!

I wish I could give this place 100 stars even though I have only been here once I’m in love! I won a free cut and color from our school raffle Melva did my Wonderful Color/​Highlights and Eddie did my awesome cut! You see I am VeRY anal when it comes to my hair but I let them do want they wanted me being scared they made me Soo comfortable I just said do what u want! And ohh my gosh I loved it all!!! I can wait till my next appointment. :)

I just moved to the area and I booked an appointment at this place since it had good reviews and I’m super glad I did!
Chelsea did my color. I was nervous leaving my old stylist since we had established a process getting my hair blonde, and Chelsea didn’t miss a beat. She listened to what I wanted, and got it better than I expected!
Eddie dos my cut. It was super fast and it looks great! I’m definitely going back there in the future!
