A great place to have a drink with friends or to make new ones. I’ve been here a couple times now and have never been disappointed. They have a good selection of local craft beers, bourbon and snack dishes. Lots of tv’s so yo can catch a game, pool table and a patio deck to enjoy the night air. The service is spectacular. Everyone seems to enjoy their job and they take good care to keep your pints full and carry on a conversation too. I wouldn’t come here just for food. Not that it’s bad, only because the menu is light. Nachos, quesadillas et al. Nice to compliment a No Label Ridgeback, a pint of Guinness or the like. This is a good place to bring a group for the start or finish of a night of crawling or to use as a regular meeting hole for beer and conversation. I’m coming back.

Overall a good experience. More of a bar than a food place. Had the fish and chips. Was ok. Nothing fancy. Wife had the mushroom Swiss burger. She enjoyed it.

Worst bar/pub in Katy. A group of friends and I use to meet here weekly for a few pints and conversation but we will never be coming back. The biggest problem was the service. On multiple occasions we were over charged for drinks that we did not order. This isn’t the most uncommon thing to happen at a bar but at Public House they refused to take responsibility. To ensure we weren’t crazy and we’re trying to be fair, we would keep bottle caps and take tallies. I don’t have anything against someone asking me to pay more for a service because it’s an open agreement between both parties. I do have an issue with someone stealing. DONOTGOTOPUBLICHOUSE.

Sitting here on St. Patrick’s Day– listening to 80s music. Can you say LAME? Pathetic. No different than any other day at any other bar. I’m finishing my drink and going to a real Irish Pub.

I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere was great when we walked in. We ordered a couple of Old Fashions off if their menu. I figured since it was something on their menu it would be good. I was WRONG! The seemed to have crushed up some cherries and oranges and poured whiskey on top. I could honestly have made better ones in my sleep. Needless to say we quickly switched to beer. We ordered a pizza and some chips and queso. They took over 45 mins to come out. The pizza was TINY and okay. The chips and queso were great and the waitress was nice enough to give us extra chips. Considering the food was mediocre overall, the service was slow and the cocktails were bad, I would not recommend this place to any of my friends.

Sorry. Big disappointment in the food. We have been coming here for almost 3 years. Haven’t been here in a couple months, but the overpriced tiny portions were a let down. A few of us expected a decent burger — not hard to mess up, but we should have stopped somewhere else.

This review is only for the food. And it is bad. Don’t bother. They should stick to being a watering hole only.

Two stars is really being generous. My wife and I have been here several times. It has been a year or so since our last visit. We had seen an article in a local magazine about a new menu and we were excited about trying it. What they have done is managed to turn sub-par pub grub into truly terrible food. We tried the fried macaroni and cheese, it wasn’t terrible, but nothing to write home about. Then we ordered our meals, the Rooster and the Piggy, these sandwiches were not edible, neither were the sides(sweet potato fries and onion straws.) We complained to the waitress, she was sorry but didn’t offer to compensate us. We didn’t eat even ½ of or food. I tipped her a little more than 20% because it wasn’t her fault, and I wanted her to understand I wasn’t just trying to get something for nothing. There are many places to eat in Katy that are very good, this isn’t one of them. It is a great place to drink, but do yourself a favor and eat before you go!

Me and my mom decide to try this place the other night on a whim to get a quick bite for dinner. It has the typical pub style décor and low lighting. For a Wednesday night it wss decenlty inhabited with a few groups. I have to say, it was pretty average. I’ll list the pros first though because there were some good things about the place. Pros: 1) Our server(who I think was also the bartender) was very nice, attentive, and helpful. She definitely tried her best to make our dinner great. She even comped us for the chicken wings we didn’t eat, which was gracious, because I dislike complaining about food in a restaurant having worked in several myself. Overall the service was very good, albeit on a slow night. 2) The pulled pork was tender and well seasoned. We got it on the street tacos and the porky(which I didn’t try). The corn tortillas on the tacos were a bit dry but were helped by a cilantro flavored sour cream that was tasty. 3) The fries were very good and fresh. We got some with the porky sandwich we ordered to go and I sneaked a few. They are battered fries which I love and they were delicious. Now for the cons: 1) As I stated above, we had the chicken wings we ordered comped. I am a wing fanatic and I decided to try the garlic butter flavor, but I couldn’t eat these. The size on them was good and there was plenty of meat, but apparently they bake their wings instead of frying them and they came out quite soggy except for a few crispy edges. I had to peel the soggy fat off of the wings to get to the meat. Not a fan of that at all. Also, the wings appeared to me to be slightly undercooked. Not raw, but you can see what I mean in the attached picture. As I said above they were gracious enough to take these off our ticket. Save yourself the trouble and order something else instead. 2) One reason I wanted to try the place was because on Unilocal I saw a picture of their onion rings. To my dismay they told us they no longer serve onion rings but now only onion strings, so we tried them anyway, and they were typical onion straws, thin and greasy. I was disappointed because the big onion rings in the picture looked so good. 3) This isn’t a terrible thing for a pub or bar type place but the menu is pretty small. There isn’t a whole lot of choice. It would be great to see a place like this have nightly food specials that are more than sliders or whatever. Overall, it wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great either. I’d probably go back, but this time I’d get the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Hope this review helps

I really want to like this place and there is a lot to like. The wait staff are pretty good, the newer menu is a vast improvement over the old, plenty of TVs, darts, pool table, etc… and it is a pretty comfortable neighborhood place. The best thing? Its within walking distance from my house. They also have a decent selection of beers, WITHONENOTABLEEXCEPTION, which is a near deal-killer. No Guinness in bottles! Its way better than the canned or even draught versions, but I can’t convince the owner to keep it in stock. He buys it in small quantities, sells it out quickly, but virtually every time I go in, they’re out and I have to remind him to stock up. Dang it!

I called ahead more than 24 hours in advance to find out if this venue would be showing a specific football game on a Saturday. We were going to be bringing 8+ people there. I was told they would definitely be showing that game. We arrived to find out this venue doesn’t in fact even carry the channel at all.(SECN) We had to rush to a different bar very last minute. I don’t suggest lying to potential customers when they call to inquire ahead of time. It’s really a waste of everyone’s time.

No Liquid Smoke Here!!! the pulled pork is actually smoked with pecan and jack daniels whiskey barrels then beer braised. The process takes over 8 hours. The pizzas are handmade thin crust and charred to be crispy NOTBURNT but anyone can ask for any item to be cooked to there specifications. I apologize if anyone has to wait for great homemade food but since I have been here my longest ticket time has been 25 minutes and our usual average time is 10 minutes. I would invite you back to try again and if you let me know I will personally take care of your table.

Not busy on a Sunday lunchtime — which is a bad sign. However the barmaid made us wElcome and the large choice of good beer was well kept. The food we had was distinctly average– we will return for the beer — but eat elsewhere(Babaloos?)

We only came for drinks around 4:15 on a Thursday. We were the only ones there so we had service right away. I wasn’t impressed with the beer selection so went with a peach type of drink which was good but tasted like peach carbonated water. They have dart boards and a pool table and the music was pretty good. A couple people came in while we were there and we stayed for a couple drinks. Layout separates the place and just seems like it is a little dark and quiet. Probably better on the weekends.

Public House — Best Crawfish! So, this little gem of a spot has some of THE best crawfish I’ve ever had & I’ve been eating crawfish since I was young. Not that that makes me an expert but know what I like, and this place has incredibly, amazingly flavorful crawfish. With a perfect mix of spices such as garlic and citrus undertones, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. And on Fridays, they’re only $ 6.99/lb.

Comfortable environment inside it always was and still is, now they added nice wood deck patio too. They’ve also added some new(healthier & still keeping the homemade goodness for those with a appetite) items to the menu.

Decent beer selection, typical bar food. What I loved about this place was the service(bartender, named Heather I think?) and meeting up with other Seahawks fans. We’ll probably be back, but mostly for the people, not the offerings.

Came here for«goodbye» HH with coworkers. Nice spot only if you are in that area, seriously I wouldn’t drive even 10 minutes to get here if it wasn’t for that. It’s just a regular spot imo. Our party was most of the patrons that night. So if you’re right around the corner and wanna be incognito… Public House is your go to place. Had drinks, mixed/bottle, good service. Plenty of apps to go around: fried mushrooms, deviled eggs(idk who the hell ordered that but it was pretty good), hot wings, irish nachos(really messy to eat and I didn’t care for the chili), and someone ordered the shepherd’s pie and said it was pretty good. They should really STOP making the marinara for the mozzarella sticks. It’s absolutely disgusting! Don’t bother… idk who told them it was good. Please go to the grocery supply warehouse quick cause y’all can’t do it right. If you live or work over there, again TPH is cool spot; otherwise nothing fancy happening.
