Stopped in for a quick lunch and drink! Great fresh food made when you order. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Great food for a great price. Can’t get over the pico and sour cream sauce! Definitely worth a stop if your in the area for lunch or dinner!

Agree that they are a little pricey. We went in for lunch & food was lukewarm & not very good. We will not be eating here again.

My husband and I have been going here for years. It is our favorite place to eat in the Crandall/Kaufman/Seagoville/Forney area. He just remodeled the inside and reopened; it is now more open and inviting. Mr. Carrera is so amazingly nice. We go there so often that he gives us free desserts and appetizers on occasion. He always is happy to see us again. Everything is good here. The carne asada is fantastic. The snapper is also delicious. We also love the enchiladas, especially cheese with sour cream sauce(so good, trust me!) They also have good fajitas and he makes a tasty Margarita on the rocks. This is THEBEST Mexican food you can get around here.

Excellent. The food is great even if slightly over priced. The salsa was amazing and the queso did not look very appetizing but was good. The service was also great but we went early on a weekday because we like being the only ones in the restaurant. The owner met us at the door and was extremely friendly. The waitress was very attentive and nice even if she didn’t laugh at my jokes. The food also came very quickly. I have eaten here a couple of times now and I will come back when I want good food and good service.

We were in Canton, and drove to Kaufman for a meal at another place, that ended up out do business. This restaurant was recommended by a local because she liked the Margaritas. There were 4 of us in our party, and everyone loved the food, and the ‘Rita’s. The 6.95 margarita was huge, and very good. My husband had the fajitas, and was very pleased, and at 9.95, was a bargain! If you are in the area, it’s worth driving out of your way to try it out. Can’t beat the price, for what they deliver! Wish I lived closer than 6 hours!

A little pricey for every-day eating, but these folks know how to make TexMex. Their beef fajitas are really well done. Beef skirts(the cut of beef used for fajita meat) is not an easy cut to cook well — and in many places I’ve eaten, it’s cook wrong so that it’s like eating chewing gum instead of beef. Carrera’s knows how to do it. The décor leaves much to be desired. They would do well to hire a professional designer to consult with them on how to properly light and decorate the place… but the food is good. Some of the waitresses are unexperienced. We had one come up to our table about 40 times during our meal to ask us if everything was ok. She did this precisely when we had food in our mouths. She always repeated the same line as though she’d been yelled at for not asking customers how things were going. I like an attentive waitstaff — but it was too much. During one visit, I asked if I could get some mushrooms with my fajitas. When the fajitas arrived, there was a side dish with lots of veggies(zucchini, bell peppers and a few mushrooms). The waitress sheepishly explained that the kitchen staff did not understand her and thought I had ordered a side of steamed vegetables. Even though I didn’t want all the other veggies and wanted mushrooms cooked with the fajitas, this was not what I got, and I was charged for the plate I didn’t ask for. I will not be asking for mushrooms ever again — they don’t know how to cook them properly. We’ve also been waited on by a male waiter and the owner — who are far more experienced in waiting on tables. You never have to wait on a drink refill. There is a seating area in the back with a window unit that keeps the back area cooler than the front — which gets the hot sun in their big picture window all day long. We always ask to sit in the back so we get better air circulation.

We love eating here because I like the food. It’s pretty authentic, and the staff is friendly. Downside: 1) For some reason, we’ve never been here when they weren’t flies flying all over the place. 2) They charge extra for tortillas. The price is a little more than we usually see in Mexican hole-in-the-wall places, so you’d think 2 tortillas could be thrown in.

This restaurant may have had a slow start, but they have found their niche now. The service is wonderful, the food is great for the price, and they have the best margarita in this entire area. Try the chicken de polla… delicious!

Food was so-so, but the worst was the poor attitude from the manager(owner maybe?) about a gift certificate I had. He saw it on the table, and waited until we had our food in front of us to say they weren’t taking them anymore.
