Awesome banana bread! We bought the banana bread from halfway to hana as well as from aunty sandy’s to try. We loved both so much we couldnt pick a winner! Aunty Sandy’s banana bread is more moist and less dense. There’s no nuts in it(yay!!) and we were lucky to have ours fresh from the oven so it was warm and yums :) Highly recommended!

Truly words best banana bread. We went at about 9am and the bread was warm and fresh. It smelt so divine :-) Keep in mind they are only open until 3pm.

Best banana bread that I’ve ever had and a great stop on the Hana trail. Nice little town and great views of the water while you’re eating the most delicious bread. 3 years later, I still think about this place. Too bad it’s not closer to Kaanapali where we usually stay.

The banana bread is incredible. Served warm and ready to eat. I almost could not get it unwrapped quick enough. Also got some fresh coconut which hit the spot after a long drive to Hana. Continue on past the fruit stand and there is a great public restroom area and also some cool tide pools along the ocean.

Don’t miss this place! The very best banana bread I have ever had! Buy a few loaves — you will regret if you don’t. Plus the ice cream was pretty amazing, too.

I’m usually not a banana bread fan, but the bread here was super tasty(hot and fresh from the oven). Also, this little community is very cute and well worth a short detour.

Comparing this to Julie’s, my family definitely prefers Julie’s. We’re not into overly sweet things. This Is solid banana bread, but really nothing that special.

Aunty Sandy’s banana bread was the winner of best banana bread for sure on our trip to Maui, Hawaii. The road to Hana is a must do and this stop was one of the highlights. I couldn’t stop taking photos here with the waves crashing on the rocks. Beautiful surroundings and a great place to stop for, at least of all the ones we tried, the best banana bread on the island. It has been a year and 4 months since we were there and I still have one of the photos from this stop as screensaver on my cell phone and as my Unilocal profile photo.(be sure to have cash on you though, that’s all they take)

the banana bread is soo good here!!! and its served warm and fresh. we made the mistake of only getting two, make sure you get more than that! its perfect to have a slice on your lanai sipping kona coffee or tea! and also the stop is worth it, the Keanae Peninsula, very beautiful and they accept credit cards well not amex, who carries cash these days.

Be prepared for disappointment! Really, Unilocalers, all the five-star reviews? The testimonies about how this is life-changing banana bread? The story about someone driving back out here a second time just for the banana bread? It is banana bread. Pretty good stuff. Warm, moist. But if you know your way around the kitchen even a little bit and have a go-to banana bread recipe that you make from time to time, you will be as dumbfounded as I am about the undue praise here. Tip: check the hours, and program the GPS ahead of time. No signs from the main road.

We bought the Road to Hana CD guide, which gave us a tip to stop by for chili cheese dog and banana bread for dessert. I typically have to be in the mood for a Chili Cheese Dog, but this time it couldn’t be more perfect. The air was damp and all I wanted was warm food. My husband I split the dog, which I later regretted because I could have ate the whole thing. It was a long dog topped with fresh chili and onions; it was so flavorful and perfect. The banana bread was delicious as well. Bananas in Maui are ridiculously good.

Best.Banana.Bread.Ever. Need more to be said? I think not. Go here on the Road to Hana and get 2 – 3 mini loaves or more. Bring cash as it is «cash only». You will not find better banana bread anywhere else in the world.

Adjacent to this stand are some of the most amazing views on the road to Hana. Picture lava rocks with waves crashing up against them. I felt like I was in a postcard. This stand is best known for Sandy’s banana bread, but they sell other things too, including smoothies, shaved ice, coffee, soft drinks and some more solid lunch items. I got a hot dog(long dog on a fresh bun with relish… pretty good…$ 3.75) and the Kahlua pork sandwich. Pork was very moist and tender, but a little salty. $ 5. Staff could have been a little friendlier, but service was efficient. There are a couple of picnic tables where you can sit. Public restrooms are also nearby. Plenty of parking. Cash only. A great option for a snack in an area with not much else.

Wow. Words cannot even describe how amazing this banana bread was. I’m still reminiscing about its buttery soft goodness. Plus the two owners of the stand were so nice and friendly. Absolutely amazing. A must-do on your trip to Hawaii, even if you’re not driving to Hana. We had two loafs and immediately regretted not buying more to take with us. On our last day in town, we even decided to drive the three hours back there just to get more bread! But, they were closed since it was past 2 o’clock. So, we made the horrible mistake of going to Julia’s for their bread. Bad choice. Definitely opt for aunt sandy’s. Best ever. Ps you should try the coconut candy too. AMAZING.

Aunt Sandy’s: nice stop on the Road to Hana. My son and I enjoyed one loaf of banana bread while it was still warm. I was so good I bought two more loafs to carry back to the mainland.

Best banana bread on the island. Period. Get one loaf to eat now while it’s still warm and another to bring home so you can eat it with vanilla ice cream the next day. And then buy Aunty Sandy’s banana bread mix to take home. It’s also a good place to rest on the way to Hana. Nice views of the hana highway, waves crashing on the shore, and well maintained restrooms at the ball field just down the road. It’s also a reasonable turnaround spot if you can’t quite stomach the whole trip to Hana. Banana bread. Don’t miss the turn. Keep an eye out for a sign that says Keanae and make a left. It’s near the Keanae arboretum.

a-mazing. this is for the banana bread alone; the stand is not much to speak of — but has a surprising amount of variety from burgers, to shakes to gatorade, to batteries. I had read about Aunt Sandy’s Banana bread in Lonely Planet(not some story of stumbling upon the quaint stand) and was thinking about trying this bread all through lunch. piping hot out of the oven(seriously, it had just come out) — this was de-lish! We had to go back for another loaf, in addition to the mix… when we ate it on the plane later, returning to home and reality, it just wasn’t the same.

Last year, the beau and I went to Maui and drove the Road to Hana. Banana bread stands are one of the popular food stands along Maui’s «Road to Hana.» We got a tip from a local that the best banana bread was from a stand in Keanae. It truly was delicious! This was easily the best, most moist banana bread I have ever had! Check out my picture:

«Home of Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread» NOTTOBEMISSED!!! This is undeniably the best banana bread in the island, in the planet, in the universe! Forget Julia’s. Comes piping hot from the oven; moist, sweet and tasty! We made the mistake of just getting only one loaf, thinking that Julia’s would be better down the highway. But believe me, Julia’s does not compare. The dried coconut fruit sweetened with brown sugar was also surprisingly good.
